In Case You’re Not Drunk Yet, Make This Boozy FOREVER ALONE Milkshake

booze-recipe

In case you’re not tipsy off wine while feeding chocolate strawberries to your lover or boozy at a singles-only event with your friends yet, here’s a FOODBEAST original to fix that dilemma: Spiked Red Velvet Shakes, aka Forever Alone Milkshakes. We made these babies last Friday as a post-lunch dessert, which resulted in the office kicking off the weekend early. Note, we made the mistake of pouring the liquor first (pic on the right), rather than after the ice cream. You want the ice cream to soak up the booze for an even flavor, or you can just mush it all up into one hotmess of Valentine’s Day awesome.

Make This Red Velvet Hot Cocoa with Cream Cheese Whip Cream

red-velvet-hot-chocolate

This Red Velvet Hot Cocoa recipe is the stuff of dreams. Think your regular hot chocolate with a sumptuous, velvety twist. The recipe bears no want of decadence, complete with luscious semi-sweet chocolate, whole milk and whipped cream cheese. Ahem, that was whipped “cream cheese.” As Michelle, indulgence connoisseur at Une-Deux Sensesso perfectly puts it, “I was always a firm believer that real red velvet deserves cream cheese frosting and not that vanilla buttercream nonsense. ” Dahling, our sentiments exactly.

Ingredients

4 cups whole milk
1 dash water
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. red food coloring
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 – 4 tbsn. whipped cream cheese, room temperature

Directions

In a stand mixer, combine the heavy cream and sugar. Whip on medium speed with the whisk attachment for 2 – 3 minutes. Just before peaks form, add the cream cheese and whisk for another 2 minutes. Taste and add more cream cheese to taste. Be careful not to over whip though, or else you’ll have butter! In a medium saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat. Add a splash of water and the chocolate chips, constantly stirring gently. When almost melted, add the red food coloring and stir. When the chocolate chips are thoroughly melted, pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with the whipped cream.

Chocolate & Strawberry Egg Roll

Strawberry season is rapidly approaching, traditionally beginning in June, but from some recent taste tests, strawberries at the local farmers market are tasting better then ever! Grab yourself a couple of fresh strawberries and make yourself some Chocolate & Strawberry Egg Rolls! This Asian inspired dessert is made with strawberries, chocolate, cream cheese, whip cream, cinnamon and then deep fried in vegetable oil! I’m guessing soy sauce isn’t a main component with these egg rolls?! (Thx MissInTheKitchen)

Thanksgiving Themed Cupcakes

Thanksgiving is creeping up on us, and it is bringing some delectable goodies! This past weekend my co-worker treated our whole store to an early Thanksgiving dessert with her Thanksgiving Themed Cupcakes! She went over the top with pumpkin pie flavored cake and added some crazy toppings! One out of the two cupcakes was finished with white icing and topped with little pumpkins. The second out of the two caught my eye with a decorated miniature turkey! A Reese’s Cup, Oreo stuffed with candy corn, chocolate balls and a little whipped cream make a very realistic turkey! I’m not going to beat around the pumpkin patch… But I “Gobble Gobbled” up a flock of these cupcakes! (Thx Michelle)

Kitchen Sink Funnel Cake

I called this bad boy the “Kitchen Sink Funnel Cake” for the sole fact that they put everything on this plate that wasn’t nailed down! It started out with a deep fried funnel cake, powdered sugar, vanilla ice cream, whip cream, fresh strawberries, fresh cherries, more whip cream, and drenched in chocolate syrup!  If you get the “Brick Of Fries” mix them with the funnel cake, pure mouth orgasm!

Great Wall of Chocolate

This puts Cheesecake Factory to shame, unless its from the Cheesecake Factory?! I don’t know but, this has an Oreo cookie crust with layers of ice cream and cheesecake topped with whipped cream, chocolate and caramel sauce! I say the best game plan to take this beast down is to grab it with two hands and eat it like a sandwich! (Thx TIWYF)
