Togo’s New Pretzelrami Packs On The Pastrami And We’re Not Mad

There’s never such a thing as too much pastrami. I tell my friends this. I tell my colleagues this. I’ll probably tell my kids this. Knowing the amount of work that goes into brining and smoking the product makes me appreciate the flavorful meat all the more. Just pile anything with pastrami and I’m there.

In my quest to try anything and everything new in the world of pastrami sandwiches, I discovered Togo’s newest addition to their menu lineup. They also recently revamped themselves with a new slogan: True to the Sandwich. To coincide with the relaunch, the sandwich chain created a new signature item in this massive Pretzelrami. It features… you guessed it… tons of pastrami.

The sandwich boasts more than a quarter pound of Togo’s pastrami and is topped with two slices of white cheddar cheese, yellow mustard, dill pickles, and served inside a toasted soft pretzel roll.

Honestly, the best kind of pastrami sandwich is one where there’s so much pastrami falling off, you can throw it on your chips or fries afterwards.

Pastrami-loving patrons can find Togo’s new Pretzelrami permanently on the menu as a signature item. Just be ready for that subsequent food coma that’s sure to follow after crushing one. I know I sure am.

This Restaurant Created A Pizza-Wrapped Meatball Stuffed With Cheese

A pizzeria in Newport, CA just created a meaty new dish that both cheese lovers and meatball enthusiasts will want to get their hands on, provided they don’t mind getting a little greasy.

Sgt. Pepperoni’s Pizza Store created this awesome new menu item they proudly call Balls Deep. The item features a pizza-wrapped meatball stuffed inside a layer of dough and cheese. The meatball pocket is then deep-fried until golden brown and served with a hearty marinara dipping sauce, though we wouldn’t mind a little ranch, either.

Think of it as a plump, bite-sized pizza.

As far as cheese pulls go, this might be one of the top contenders for the gooey title. Though we have a feeling there might be quite a few more challengers to the throne in the days to come.

You can find the Balls Deep creation at this year’s OozeFest. If you’re interested, tickets are still on sale.

Here’s Where To Find The Only Poke Restaurant With A Drive-Thru

While the poke craze has been growing exponentially as of late, we just can’t help but grab some at least once a week. The problem is at the end of the day, we just don’t want to get out the car just to pick up food on the way home.

The solution: Drive-thru poke.

Fins Poke Fusion, prominent in Mission Viejo, CA, just opened a new location in downtown Fullerton, CA. What sets the fast-casual restaurant apart from the original location, and other poke spots for that matter, is that they offer… A DRIVE THRU.

Before Fins settled in the current space, a taqueria with a drive-thru window built in was the previous occupant. Fins’ owners saw this as an asset and decided to keep the convenient feature for their new restaurant.

We spoke to Moby Duncan, one of the three owners of Fins, who said that he knows customers only have a set amount of time to place their orders and get back to work or be on their way home. Because he stands by the quality of the fish, Duncan decided to turn the drive-thru into something Fins could capitalize on.

“We want to be the In-N-Out of poke,” he said.

While you have to go inside to get the full customizable experience of the restaurant, the drive-thru menu lets patrons order from six predetermined bowls. The bowls are then made to order and ready within 3-5 minutes.

In the world of seafood, the fresher the better.

You can find the drive-thru Fins Poke Fusion at:

513 N. Harbor Blvd

Fullerton, CA

Behold The CHORK, Panda Express’ Combo Fork + Chopsticks

A couple weeks ago, Panda Express started hyping up these new Chorks. The plastic utensil features a fork on one end with a pair of chopsticks on the other.

Like the wooden chopsticks found in most Asian restaurants, you can snap the Chork in half and they’ll act as traditional chopsticks. If you’re unfamiliar with how to use chopsticks, leaving them connected lets you train with them.

We got our hands on some and decided to test them out for ourselves.

Check out the video to see what fellow Foodbeasts Marc and Elie had to say about them.

Panda Express currently has no plans to roll the utensils out nationally, at least for now. Rather, they’ll be giving them away on special occasions. If you’re dying to try them, you can buy some directly from Chork.

Log These Pokemon Burgers In Your Pokedex ASAP

You may have heard of Australian burger pop-up Down N’ Out, the joint with the In-N-Out Burger-inspired menu. The long-running pop-up is now adding three new burgers that’ll be sure to please Pokemon GO fans.

Meet the Pokeburgs.

Launching in Australia August 22, the first round of monstrous sandwiches feature three iconic Pokemon: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Pikachu.

The burgers feature wagyu beef with different toppings depending on the Pocket Monster. Each bun is colored to match its namesake. We spoke to Ben Kagan part-owner of Down N’ Out to see how this menu came about. Surprisingly, it was Kagan who came up with it and not the pop-up’s chef Sebastian Cens.

[Cens] hated it at first, because he’s one of those sad individuals who hated the Pokemon GO trend. A few days later and he’s out-levelled me on Pokemon GO. Now he’s a Pokemon GO addict.

While the pop-up will still feature its staple In-N-Out themed menu, they wanted to branch out into something new. Ben says they’re going to test the waters with the initial launch, already trending on social media, and plan on introducing new Pokemon characters soon.

He’s got concepts for Snorlax, Clefairy, and Voltorb.

The only thing that bugged us from the initial batch was that there wasn’t a Squirtle Burger featured.

The bun kept coming out GREEN. We are working on it.

You can find the Pokeburgs during Down N’ Out’s pop-up hours at the Sir John Young Hotel, located in Sydney. Only a limited number of burgers will be available.
