IT’S LIT: Travis Scott Hard Seltzer Launching In 2021

2020 has been a big year for Travis Scott in the food game. He got a limited-edition meal collab with McDonald’s, and to close out the decade, he’s shooting his shot with alcohol giant Anheuser-Busch on a new hard seltzer.

Called Cacti, this hard seltzer differs from others on the market in that it’s inspired by tequila. As such, the brand is made with Mexican premium blue agave, and contains a whopping 7% ABV. That puts it significantly higher than White Claw (5% ABV) and other competing seltzers in the market in terms of how lit you’ll get.

Travis Scott’s Cacti line is going to launch nationwide in Spring 2021, and the Cactus Jack-inspired beverage will come in three flavors: Lime, Pineapple, and Strawberry. They’ll be available in 12-ounce cans in a 9 count variety pack, as well as 16-ounce and 25-ounce single cans.

Tyler, The Creator Is Dropping An Exclusive Ice Cream Pint

Tyler, The Creator is known for making mysterious music, and he is now taking his mysterious flavors to the ice cream game, teaming with Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams for a limited edition release.

The flavor is called “Snowflake,” and will consist of cool peppermint, warm spearmint, a dash of sea salt, crunchy white chocolate flakes, and white chocolate melted within the scoops.

In a post, Tyler said, “For as long as I can remember, mint ice cream seemed to always come with every chocolate chip but white. I finally got the two away from their clingy friends and set up a play date for my mouth.”

The pint container is decorated with a minty green color and has a flower covering the front, which is synonymous with Tyler’s Golf le Fleur branding and Flower Boy album.

While rappers and food haven’t always been synonymous, we’re starting to see a trend here, as just last month, Travis Scott had his own exclusive food drop, teaming up with Reese’s Puff’s cereal during Paris Fashion Week.

Those cereal boxes sold out in less than a minute.

If anyone can match that kind of hype, it’s Tyler, The Creator, so we’ll see just what kind of lines there will be at the Golf Wang and Jeni’s stores, and how quickly these sell out online.

Inside Look: Travis Scott X Reese’s Puffs Popup in Paris

In one of the most unlikely collaborations, rapper Travis Scott and Reese’s Puffs cereal created a lot of hype this week, dropping an exclusive cereal box, bowl and spoon that all sold out in 30 seconds this past Tuesday.

While the items were sold online, Travis also officially debuted the General Mills cereal with a pop-up in Paris during Fashion Week.

With shelves full of cereal boxes, the pop-up also had Travis Scott X Reese’s Puffs merch on deck and cereal-inspired art installations.

As you would imagine, the cereal boxes are already making rounds on eBay and other after market sale apps for as low as $32. Yet with an average asking price of $120 in the after market, it’s right up there as  hypebeast collector status. Some are even putting together bundles that include the cereal, bowl and spoon, and in some instances Travis Scott streetwear items.

This isn’t Reese’s first hip hop Rodeo, however, as you probably remember past commercials with the “Reese’s Puffs Rap,” or the “Perfect Combo” rap commercial.

Hopefully all this means is that we’ll see a remake of these Reese’s Puffs commercials with Scott’s classic ambient, auto-tuned crooning.
