It’s Time To Call Out The Chicago Cubs For Stealing This Food Blogger’s Recipe

The world of Internet food creations is a deliciously beautiful, creative, fucked up and incestuous cess pool of stolen ideas. Today, the Chicago Cubs, Wrigley Field and by association, Giordano’s (“Chicago’s Best Pizza”) have joined the ranks of those pillaging and raping online food creators.

Popular food blogger and food troll, The Vulgar Chef, created a recipe paying homage to the Chicago-style hot dog and the Chicago deep dish pizza and uploaded his to his YouTube account on June 12, 2016.

His creation was aptly titled the, “Chicago Dog Deep Dish Pizza.”

VULGAR_CHEF_TWEETTake a bit of this bread recipe, a dash of this photography angle, swap out one ingredient for another, and there you have it, something completely original.

Now, in celebration of National Hot Dog Month at Wrigley Field, Giordano’s Pizza and Vienna Beef claim to have collaborated on a near replica of the Vulgar Chef Chicago-Style hot dog deep dish pizza that is now being sold at Wrigley Field from July 15 to July 20.

This is a very specific, outside-the-box food concept that just seems too unique to be coincidental. The Vulgar Chef addressed this on his blog.

“And now the Cubs want to run a train on ol’ KyKy because they haven’t won a World Series in about 300 years and are looking to pull out a fucking “W”. According to Eater Chicago, NBC Chicago, Sports Illustrated, ThePostGame, USA Today, AOL, and a handful of other cunts, this years main attraction at Wrigley Field – other than watching the train wreck that is the Cubs franchise – will be none other than a Deep Dish Chicago Dog Pizza….a recipe I dropped a month and a half ago.” — The Vulgar Chef

The Vulgar Chef’s version is made with a bed of cheese-fries, handmade pizza dough, topped with mustard, tomatoes, sport peppers, relish and pickles. He commented in the description box, “My apologies for the lack of onion and poppy seeds, but at least I have the neon relish and sport peppers.”

We reached out to Henson Consulting, Giordano’s public relations representation, to see if anyone would comment on the similarities between The Vulgar Chef’s Chicago Style and Wrigley Field’s new celebratory menu item.

The representative responding to our inquiry gave us the most boilerplate response you could ask for.

However, this isn’t the first instance of recipe plagiarism that the Vulgar Chef has experienced. Nope, not even the first time this year.

The Vulgar Chef’s version of Mac N’ Cheetos was something that Burger King broke the internet with a few weeks ago. The Vulgar Chef created Mac N’ Cheetos and uploaded his YouTube video on September 30, 2015. Burger King’s released their version nearly a year later, on June 27, 2016

In a world where Facebook was essentially created through a case of stolen intellectual property — at least the Winklevoss twins had a paper trail — there’s little people like the Vulgar Chef can do to protect themselves against multi-billion dollar companies stealing their original ideas for marginal gains.

Last year, the Houston Astros introduced a fried chicken and waffle cone, a concept that was first created in 2012 by another food blogger, Nick Chipman of Dude Foods. While the waffle chicken cone was not an exact replica, Chipman threw shade toward the Astros when he said, “…any chicken and waffle type dish needs to be served with syrup, not honey mustard.”

Nevertheless, it’s safe to say that we can at least condemn Wrigley Field, The Cubs and by association Giordano’s Pizza to the bottom-feeding ranks of corporate analytic junkies. They join the likes of Burger King, who seem oblivious, or at least semi-allergic to Google searches, where they’d discover their ‘Amazingly creative and original way to bring in foodies,’ has already been created by someone else.

Maybe then, it isn’t ironic that the Vulgar Chef’s trademark is, “#EatLikeShit.”

6 Unexpected Recipes That Use PBR, From Sushi To Sandwiches [WATCH]

We now have six more reasons to place PBR at the top of the grocery list.

For context, we challenged six of our favorite guys known for creating obscenely delicious eats, and asked them to create some more obscenely delicious eats using the golden good stuff PBR—just because we can, and just because we should. (Ask not what PBR can do for you, but what you can do for PBR, right? Something like that.)

Needless to say, our guys delivered, and consequently, history has been made. After all, we’re talking about some of the best. Tym “McBurger Chips” Bussanich. Sushi-making legend Davy Devaux. The Vulgar Fucking Chef, for cheddar’s sake.

PBR pretzel bites, sushi, bacon mac, PABST BLUE REUBEN—this is what happens when you mix fire with fire. You might as well just consider and accept these as your grocery list. Here are six reasons why you need to restock your fridge with PBR immediately:


PBR Philly Cheese Steak Fingers

Tym Bussanich’s genius idea of combining steak marinated in PBR with green peppers, onions, and melted American cheese, all within the cracks of a warm loaf of bread (I like to think of these as sandwich fries). Happiness is just a finger away, y’all.


PBR Bacon Mac and Cheese

This recipe from the Simple Cooking Channel is the ultimate comfort food after a long day wherever: PBR. Bacon. Mac. Cheese. All can be united so effortlessly, it’s almost too good too be true. That’s the joy of Simple Cooking.


Pabst Blue Reuben

An entire sandwich, dunked and fried in PBR batter, and graced with a punderfully appropriate title. We’d be lost without this treasure from Dude Foods.


PBR Tempura Sushi

For many of us, it’s difficult enough making basic sushi. Davy of Make Sushi not only recreated the PBR logo in this PBR-battered roll, but to do so, he imagined the first ever naturally blue rice by using ultra rare butterfly pea flower tea.   


PBR Cheddar Nuggets (in a PBR Can)

The idea of PBR in a PBR can is nice. The idea of PBR Cheddar Nuggets in a PBR can is also nice. Vulgar Chef’s taking things to a whole new level with these cheddar nuggets fried in PBR batter, which he keenly serves in their own can along with a creamy bacon cheese sauce for dunkin’. Dipping cheese into more cheese—that’s what America’s all about.

Cheesy, salty, and a lil’ spicy—said it before and I’ll say it again, these are the perfect anytime anywhere snack. Seeing a movie tonight? Maybe you pop into your kitchen for a bit beforehand. Maybe you make a couple batches… a couple dozen batches. Maybe you discreetly tuck ‘em into your pockets/purse/mouth and sneak ‘em into the theater with you for a lil’ snack during the show. Maybe you just had the best movie experience EVER.

This Meatball Is Stuffed With Gooey Cheese And Coated In Cheetos

The f*ck’s a Cheesy Cheetos Meatball?

With those six words, our boy Kyle (AKA The Vulgar Chef) created the meaty, cheese balls you see before you.

The recipe consists of ground beef, sausage, an egg, parmesan cheese, milk, liquid smoke, bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Mixing the meat together, form into multiple balls. Then stick a cube of cheese (your choice) at the center and reform it into a ball.

Coat your meatballs generously in crushed Cheetos, cover it in egg wash and then add another Cheetos coat. They’re then thrown into the oven at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.

If you have an Instagram account, first of all, follow us, if you’re not already. If you’re already rolling in the deep with the #foodbeast Instagram fam, however, you probably know most of the Instagrammers on the list. It’s been a great year for food porn and no one does it better than these guys.

Harbingers of screen-lickable photos (hellloo, milky buns) and co-owners of Afters Ice Cream Scott Nghiem and Andy Nguyen have a few Instagram accounts between them. Instead of pitting them against each other, one of their collaborative accounts, @TryItOrDiet, swoops into the top 10.

Michel’s account is truly gift from the Instagram gods. All of his images consist of a plain white background yet are somehow always able to illuminate the food at hand to the point of holiness. Whether he’s focusing on an exquisite multi-course meal, or a fat, trendy burger, he has a way of making all his meals look heavenly.

If you haven’t heard, Mike Chau and his son Matthew (lovingly known as Food Baby NY) are taking the Big Apple and soon the rest of the country by storm, one nibble at a time. Now that there’s another food baby in the mix named Sam, their account is twice as great. Not going to lie—just a smidge jealous that these kids are eating are eating better than we ever will.

The duo behind Devour Power are doing an excellent job of getting Instagram their regular protein fix. That is, if your idea of a protein fix is mile-high sandwiches, some drippy, juicy meats, and fried finger foods that require napkins by the double-digits. Ohhhh yeeeeeeahhhhh.

Apparently the username “@foodie” was taken by a no-good Insta-ghost, but Tess of @Foooodie definitely does her handle justice. Her curated pictures of sprinkles/icing/candy/cream-covered everything are going to set your teeth on fire (assuming that’s possible). No complaints though.

  1. Donuts Cookies and Cream

Sweet sweet victory! You won’t be able to take ten seconds of this account without a getting a hankering for sugar-coated everything. Fortunately, the trio that runs DCC makes sure to tag every location.

  1. Daily Food Feed

Peeping Daily Food Feed’s Instagram, you’ll find a colorful assortment of edible items, many of which happen to be trending in food media. Rainbow-encrusted donuts, sprinkly ice cream tacos, red-bunned burgers—Jed of DFF is there for it all, and he makes sure that with each photo, the food subject is practically in your face. Try not to lick your screen.

The Vulgar Fucking Chef, encouraging us to #eatlikeshit since God knows when, and we’re loving every second of it. The caption says it all—Kyle Marcoux always lets his freak flag fly when it comes to playing with his food, and that’s how we received such delicacies like French Fry Burger Tacos, Mac n Cheese Pulled Pork Cake, and Pizza Meatloaf.

WATCH Daym Drops’ Hilarious Review Of The LOBSTER-FILLED McSurf & Turf Burger

In a bit of food bloggerception, one of our favorite YouTubers reviewed a freaky creation from one of our favorite Instagrammers.

Let’s back up a bit.

In states like Maine and Massachusetts, where you can find great lobster anywhere, McDonald’s thought it’d try its hand in the lobster game.

Insert the infamously foul-mouthed Vulgar Chef.

He took the questionable McLobster and mashed it together with a Big Mac to create a pretty dank looking McSurf & Turf Burger.

One of the funniest YouTuber’s out there, Daym Drops, has a special name for crazy mashups like this, as he often has reviews what he calls, “Hood Burgers.” Daym put together a McSurf & Turf himself and gave his always-honest opinion on it.

How To Make A Pulled Pork Cake With A Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Mac & Cheese Crust

Only The Vulgar Chef would take an idea so…vulgar…and make it so…palatable?

It’s exactly what it sounds like: Pulled Pork spread between layers of Mac & Cheese and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. All the things I love, baked into one magical cake bite. He even uses some BBQ sauce to hold the thing together and add a layer of sweetness to the entire gang bang:

This Pulled-Pork Waffle Is Literally Made Entirely of Pulled Pork

Some food creations are so beautiful, they don’t need much explanation, but I am contractually obligated to write an entire post about stuff like this.

If the sight of a pulled-pork waffle doesn’t light up your day, you must reevaluate the path you are walking down, because it might be a lonely vegetarian path.

The Vulgar Chef is a perfectly suited name, as he presented his creation on Instagram like so:

“Made myself a pulled pork waffle after I was done pulling my pork in the bathroom.”

This “waffle” is completely made of pulled pork with a scoop of macaroni and cheese in the center, and bacon bits sprinkled over top of it.

I apologize if you were hungry before clicking on this story and now feel a torturous urge to put this waffle inside of you.
