Dos Equis To Induct “Most Interesting Fan of College Football” Into Hall of Fame

There’s a slight chill in the air (in the East Coast at least), Labor Day is this weekend, and that can only mean one thing… college football season will soon be upon us. Dos Equis returns as the Official Beer Sponsor of the College Football Playoff and is on a mission to find those football fanatics who choose “Game Day Over Everything.”

At the end of the season, one lucky fan will be crowned “The Most Interesting Fan of College Football” and will be honored by being immortalized in the College Football Hall of Fame with a life-sized statue. “It’s incredible to be a part of this ‘Most Interesting Fan’ campaign because it highlights the spirit and passion college football fans share every Saturday during the season,” says Rob Riggle, campaign spokesperson and ‘Most Interesting Fan’ candidate. “I’ve been a huge fan of college football all my life, displaying fandom literally on my sleeves and chest, so I’m excited to represent all those other diehards that put ‘Game Day Over Everything’ as they showcase their most interesting traditions for their teams.”

Starting Saturday (September 2) through November 14, 2017, fans of legal drinking age can use #MostInterestingFanSearch to enter the contest on Twitter, Instagram, and at by sharing photos, videos, or a simple tweet stating why they should be considered. Two finalists will be chosen in November and one winner will then be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta at an exclusive Dos Equis event on January 7, 2018. Both finalists will receive roundtrip travel for two and will attend the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship on January 8, 2018.

Additionally, Dos Equis is also taking its ESPN College Football Playoffs partnership to another level during Week 7 this college football season with its “ESPN Tailgate Week presented by Dos Equis,” which will highlight some of the best, most interesting tailgates around the nation and encourage fans to submit why they belong in the College Football Hall of Fame.

The Original ‘Most Interesting Man In The World’ Switches From Beer To Tequila

“I Told You” Astral Tequila Teaser from Davos Brands on Vimeo.

He doesn’t always drink beer. Sometimes, he drinks tequila too.

Dos Equis’ former actor for “The Most Interesting Man In The World,” Jonathan Goldsmith, has shifted careers and is now the public face for Astral Tequila. In the first commercial teaser, which just dropped a couple of days ago, Goldsmith even gives a shoutout to his former self as he moves on to his new role of drinking tequila on TV.

“I told you… I don’t always drink beer.”

While Goldsmith referenced his old role in the Astral Tequila commercial, he sadly won’t be able to reprise it for the time being. The title of “Most Interesting Man” is still owned by Dos Equis and its owning brand, Heineken USA, and they’ve already moved on with a new actor to play the part. Goldsmith can reference who he was in the past though, since that doesn’t infringe on any rights.

We’ll definitely stay thirsty for more commercials to see if Goldsmith continues to drop the “Most Interesting Man” hints or not.

Beer What's New

This Guy Is Officially Dos Equis’ NEW Most Interesting Man In The World

When Dos Equis’ Most Interesting Man in the World retired, the world was left in a dull and uncomfortable position. OK, so maybe we forgot about the dude already, but looking back at the years of comical Chuck Norris-like situations they’d put the 77-year-old Jonathan Goldsmith in, we wouldn’t mind seeing more of it.

So Dos Equis obliged with fans of the commercials and just announced that they’ve found a new Most Interesting Man In The World. Meet Augustin Legrand, who will be carrying the torch moving forward, as Superman will now be wearing his pajamas, werewolves will now be jealous of his beard, and roses will stop to smell him.

We get a sneak peek of Legrand, who somehow looks like a smoother version of Hugh Jackman, as the Mexican beer brand released a teaser of the trouble their new spokesman will be getting himself in and out of.

It’s still early, but the Most Interesting Man is getting mixed reviews from fans on YouTube, as user sabbywins said, “My body is ready for more interesting men…” while Tywren2 wasn’t as excited, saying, “…this guy is a cheap, Made in China replacement part, and the new theme music is shit.”

We’ll see in October how the new guy in town lives up to the original, but for now, we’re pretty intrigued.

LeBron James Gets the Dos Equis Ad Treatment [HUMOR]

With the NBA Finals in full swing, and the NBA’s most “prominent” player on the ultimate stage, it seems he’s underperforming yet again. In the Miami Heat’s Game 5 Loss, LeBron managed a meager two points during the game’s pivotal fourth quarter. As a result, the Miami Heat are now down 2-3 to the Dallas Mavericks.

Some of the Internet’s most humorous have taken to their Twitter to push this faux-ad campaign that superimposes LeBron James as the Dos EquisMost Interesting Man In The World. Let the Internet memes roar:
