HBO Digitally Removes Coffee Cup From Last Week’s ‘Game Of Thrones’, It Wasn’t Starbucks After All

Warning: Game of Thrones Spoilers Ahead

Fans of the groundbreaking HBO series Game of Thrones spotted what was almost undeniably a Starbucks coffee cup this past Sunday’s episode.

Without going too heavy into it, the scene took place during a feast held in the halls of Winterfell. In one shot you can clearly see a modern cup of coffee on the table in front of the Dragon Queen Daenerys Targaryen.

News spread of the botch and wild theories ranging from time travel, revenge of the cinematographer, and even Starbucks product placement all invaded social platforms.

HBO debunked those rumors in a statement that pretty much squashed all the theories and simply owned up to the fact that it was an accident…and has corrected it.

Subscribers of HBO Go and NOW will notice that the cup has been digitally erased from the episode. At the time of reporting, you can still see the cup if you have the HBO extension of Hulu, but it’ll probably be a matter of hours before they wipe that footage too.

It was also confirmed by The Wall Street Journal that the cup wasn’t from Starbucks, but simply craft services. There goes the Starbucks advertisement theory.

HBO also mentioned that with a production as big as Game of Thrones, items from craft services have occasionally been missed and made it on camera. Though luckily none as noticeable as that coffee cup.

Game of Thrones fans, the final two episodes will be airing on May 12 and May 19. With two episodes left, which will presumably be some of television’s moved viewed content for years to come, you bet your sweet ass fans will dissect every scene for the tiniest of details. Hopefully nothing else slips by.

Netflix’s ‘Final Table’ Winner Says Culinary School Doesn’t Matter

For those of you addicted to Netflix’s cooking competition series, The Final Table, the show pairs chefs from around the world together to take on national dishes to be judged by a panel of pop culture icons and culinary authorities. Those inspired to sign up for culinary school after binging this series, may want to give your wallet a beat first. You may not need culinary school to be a lauded chef, at least according to the winner of The Final Table.

For those of you who haven’t finished the series, maybe come back to this piece after, for spoilers on the winner are soon to come.

You’ve been warned.

.:SPOILER ALERT:.

Winner of the first season of The Final Table, chef Tim Hollingsworth, appeared on The Katchup Podcast and spoke about his career and participating on the competitive cooking series.

During the episode, co-host Geoffrey Kutnick asked Chef Hollingsworth his opinion on culinary school and whether or not the resumes he receives from prospective chefs list culinary school on them matter during the hiring process.

“It does not matter to me at all,” Hollingsworth states. “At all. Period.”

“Nothing against culinary school, but I think people learn differently,” he explains. “I’m not going to sit here and say people shouldn’t go to culinary school. If you need that structure and that curriculum, then you should go to culinary school.”

Years back, Hollingsworth moved to New York to taste the experience of taking culinary courses, which he abruptly left.

“Going back, would I go to culinary school again? I would not,” he divulged. “There’s no way.”

The award-winning chef has no regrets about leaving culinary school behind.

He began his culinary career in his teens as a dishwasher, calling chefs and restaurants nonstop until he got his foot in the door. Hollingsworth worked at The French Laundry for 13 years where he held the title of Chef de Cuisine for four years under the acclaimed Thomas Keller.

The Final Table champion is now chef and owner of Downtown Los Angeles’ all-day restaurant Otium, and The Fields LA spots C.J. Boyd’s and Free Play.

“I’m happy I didn’t go to culinary school, I’m happy I didn’t have the debt from going to culinary school, but the one thing I wish I would have done was gone to business school,” Hollingsworth reflected. “I think that would have been helpful ’cause that part of the restaurant now, is a lot of what I do. Ultimately, if I had gone to school for that, I would be a lot more prepared now.”

Hollingsworth isn’t the only chef to feel there’s utility to enrolling in business school. Prolific chef Wolfgang Puck studied at Harvard Business School at 68 years old, where he learned negotiation skills and marketing.

Chef Hollingsworth’s views on culinary school is a breath of fresh air for those trying to make a name for themselves in the culinary world, but hoping to dodge the massive debt it could amass.

You can check out his entire interview, along with what it was like starring in Netflix’s The Final Table on The Katchup Podcast.

All The ‘Stranger Things’ Foods To Eat At Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights

Halloween is less than two months away, and I for one am chomping away like a famished zombie for the brains of the spooky season.

This year, in honor of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, Universal Studios is offering up dishes inspired by the ’80s phenomenon at both their Hollywood and Orlando locations.

The menu was created by each park’s executive chef and culinary teams to compliment the enthralling experience of this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. Each park will also feature an entirely new maze for guests to experience the terror of the Upside Down inspired by the first season of the show.

Behold, Universal’s Stranger Things menu. If you’re looking to try them, or experience the ghoulishness of Halloween Horror Nights, the event begins Friday September 14 at both parks.

Hollywood

The Upside Down Burger

Inspired by the Upside Down dimension, this burger is loaded with spicy queso and crushed Flamin’ Hot Cheetos on a potato roll. Guests can enjoy this hearty take on the dark realm with a side of tater tots.

Demogorgon’s Totcho

The show’s season one villain, the Demogorgan, haunted our dreams well into the second season. These inspired tater tot nachos, piled with spicy queso, chili, sour cream, and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, are worthy of anyone with a monstrous appetite.

Eleven’s Waffle Extravaganza

If there’s one thing Eleven loves, it’s Eggo Waffles. Eleven’s Waffle Extravaganza stacks three Eggos with a layer of whipped cream and topped with candies like Reese’s Pieces, jelly beans, and chocolate chips.

Benny’s Burgers

A classic burger named after the gruff diner owner with a heart of gold, who takes Eleven in after she escapes Hawkins Lab. These juicy patties are served on potato rolls with a side of tater tots.

Benny’s Chicken and Waffle Sandwich

Another ode to the beloved Benny, this Chicken and Waffle Sandwich features grilled chicken served sweet and sour onions, sage-maple aioli, all between two Eggo Waffles. If I’m a sucker for anything, it’s chicken and waffles.

Orlando

Fudge Dipped Waffle On A Stick

When you’re being chased down by inter dimensional monsters, you don’t really have much time to sit down to a meal. These Fudge Dipped Waffles on a Stick let you take your sweet snack on the go as you’re running from Demogorgons and other creatures of the night.

Waffle Ice Cream Pocket Sundae

For the guest who loves waffles a la mode, this pocket sundae puts an Upside Down spin on the dessert. Two chocolate chip waffles are stuffed with strawberry ice cream and topped with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, sprinkles, and whipped cream.

Triple Decker Extravaganza

Triple Decker Extravaganza is Universal Studios Orlando’s version of the aforementioned Eleven’s Waffle Extravaganza. Essentially a dessert lasagna, layers of whipped cream and candy are inserted between beds of Kellogg’s Eggo Waffles.

Syrup & Waffles

It wouldn’t be a Stranger Things menu without tons of waffle items. This refreshing take Eleven’s favorite food features a blend of non-alcoholic syrup flavors that are topped with whipped cream and tiny waffles. Perfect to keep you cool and satisfy those maple cravings.

Christmas Tree Lights Cupcakes

Christmas lights played a major role in the first season of the series as a medium for Joy Byers to communicate with her missing son Will. At Universal Studios Orlando, Christmas lights also play a major role in communicating with my sweet tooth in these jelly bean topped cupcakes.

11 Mini Donuts

Eleven’s telekinetic powers often led to nosebleeds the more she exerted herself. The 11 Mini Donuts are coated in powdered sugar and topped with red frosting inspired by those nosebleeds. Is it weird to want to try one — or three?

Pepperoni and Sausage Pizza

Fans will remember in an early episode that fan-favorite Dustin once offered his crush Nancy Byers a slice of pizza topped with sausage and pepperoni. Guests can’t go wrong with a savory slice featuring two of our favorite pizza toppings.

Benny’s Burgers

Universal Orlando will also feature a Benny’s Burgers locations where guests can sit down to a variety of burgers and chicken sandwiches.

Rick and Morty Are Getting Their Own Ice Cream Pop-Up

Rick and Morty fans are currently sitting in a cartoon-less limbo as there has been no official word on when the show returns for a fourth season. In May, Adult Swim announced that the widely popular animated series had been renewed for 70 episodes over an uncertain amount of seasons. Good news for sure, but co-creator Justin Roiland says that fans would be waiting quite a bit for the new season.

In that meantime, diehards of the show will have something sweet to nibble on in the form of an ice cream pop up.

Co-founder of Afters Ice Cream Scott Nghiem joined The Katchup podcast, Thursday, and revealed that the immensely viral ice cream chain will soon be doing a Rick and Morty collaboration.

Nghiem mentions this at the 53:32 mark of the episode.

Those who follow Afters Ice Cream will know that they recently did something similar with Hello Kitty. This pairing of cartoon cat and technicolor ice cream included two limited edition flavors served in an exclusive Hello Kitty cup.

A post shared by Hello Kitty (@hellokitty) on

Following the podcast, Nghiem added that the collaboration will include both in-store installations and Rick and Morty-themed merchandise. He also reveals that the Pasadena location of Afters Ice Cream will have an exclusive experience center and flavor based on a dimension-hopping alcoholic scientist and his overly anxious grandson.

This fan-made video of Rick and Morty describing the pleasures of ice cream sums up our excitement for this collaboration perfectly.

Rick and Morty lovers can expect the pop-up collaboration to arrive sometime within the next three months. Wonder if any of the new flavors will involve pickles or Szechuan Sauce?
