For some pickle enthusiasts, a dill pickle straight from the jar may be enough to satisfy a craving. You could even sip on pickle juice or enjoy a helping of pickle soft serve. But for something different, pick up the Lay’s Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle Chips. There’s so much flavor bursting in just one crunchy chip!

Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle Chips were originally released as part of the brand’s “Turn up the Flavor” campaign, along with Electric Lime and Sea Salt and Beer Cheese Kettle-Cooked Chips. The Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle flavor was our top pick back then, and apparently, we weren’t the only ones who loved ’em. Lay’s brought this limited-edition flavor back to the snack aisle for good.

Pickle chips, but give it an extra kick

The chips are coated with the Flamin’ Hot seasoning you know and love from Cheetos. It definitely packs heat at first, but then the cool pickle flavor helps cut the spiciness factor. You either love ’em or you hate ’em!

Want more from Lay’s? You can already try Fried Pickle Chips with Ranch from Lay’s collection of regional chip flavors. Don’t forget to take a peek at our ranking of the best Lay’s potato chips to find out which flavor reigns supreme, too.

Where can I get these hot pickle chips?

You can find Lay’s Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle Chips in stores nationwide right now. They’re also listed on Target’s website as well as Walmart’s website. The chips are selling quickly, but now that Lay’s made them a permanent flavor, you can definitely wait for your grocery store to restock them. Enjoy these hot pickle chips at a barbecue or as a snack while you binge-watch food shows on Netflix.

Aldi Sells Copycat Girl Scout Cookies All Year Long

No need to wait ’til Girl Scout Cookie season. Three of our go-to flavors are on shelves at Aldi right now!

We’ve been pushing our shopping carts past one of Aldi’s best kept secrets: copycat Girl Scout cookies!

Under the brand name Benton’s, shoppers can find three of the best Girl Scout cookie-inspired flavors—Thin Mints, Tagalongs and Samoas. Just go ahead and add cookies to the things you should buy at Aldi.

How Do Aldi’s Copycat Girl Scout Cookies Compare?

Peanut butter lovers scouting out the cookie aisle will want to grab a box (or four) of Benton’s Peanut Butter Filled Cookies for just $1.48. These are a satisfying take on the addictive Girl Scout cookies known as Tagalongs (or Peanut Butter Patties, depending on where you’re from), and are every bit as creamy and rich as the real deal. We’re also big fans of these Dipped Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies, perfect for whipping up when the day is long and a grocery run isn’t happening.

When the craving strikes for fudgy coconut, and only a Samoa will do, Aldi has you covered. The grocer’s Caramel Coconut Fudge Cookies hit on all the sweet, coconutty and chewy notes of this Girl Scout cookie classic. (You might also know ’em as Caramel deLites.) They have to be made by the same manufacturer, they’re identical! What’s better is they’ll only cost you $1.43 per box!

Then there’s Fudge Mint, Aldi’s take on the classic Thin Mint, also known as the most beloved Girl Scout cookie in America. If you’re like us, “I’ll just eat two” turns out to be an impossible feat, and we’re left holding an empty sleeve in record time. It’s all chocolaty, crunchy goodness! The bad news is Fudge Mint is only around part of the year, but the good news is that’s right now. You can snag a 10-ounce package of 52 Fudge Mint cookies right now for $1.48. Get yours before they’re all gone.

These Benton boxes of Girl Scout-inspired goodness offer a sweet splurge that’s easy on the wallet. No word yet on whether Aldi plans to copycat the newest Girl Scout cookie flavor, though. In the meantime, we’ll happily support Girl Scout troops and buy the real deal once the next Girl Scout cookie season begins. But January is a long time away, and those freezer stockpiles only last so long. For all those cookie craving moments in between, you’ll find us at Aldi.

Pecan Pie M&M’s Are Back For a Limited Time

It’s our favorite Southern flavor all wrapped up in a crunchy shell.

Every product is independently selected by our editors. If you buy something through our links, we may earn an affiliate commission.

M&M’s are our favorite snack to gobble down by the handful, and this year has introduced to us so many flavors we just can’t pick a favorite. Valentine’s Day brought us smooth and creamy White Cheesecake M&M’s, and Halloween is about to load our trick or treat bags with the creepy crunch of Cocoa Crisp.

Now, M&M’s is bringing back the decadent taste of the South. Pecan Pie M&M’s are officially back in stores! You won’t want to miss out on this sweet limited edition flavor.

All Your Favorite Southern Flavors in One

You don’t need to break out the oven mitts to get a taste of Grandma’s secret pecan pie recipe, because M&M’s has done all the work for you. These M&M’s bring together the nutty flavors we all crave during fall along with the homemade sweetness of whipped cream. The pastel outer shells act as the crust, just as crunchy and rich as you remember as a kid, but in the palm of your hand. We’re warning you, though, just one of these guys won’t be enough to satisfy that home-cooked craving, so you might want to invest in more than one bag.

Don’t miss our best recipes for Southern pecan pie.

They’re Only Around for a Limited Time

Due to popular demand, M&M’s had to give this sweet treat a second run. Like last time, though, Pecan Pie M&M’s won’t be sticking around for too long. You can snag a bag right now exclusively at Walmart for $2.89. If you don’t have time to go in, but do have a little cash to spend on shipping, you can also order a two-pack from Amazon without fighting the crowd.

This flavor was snatched up pretty quickly when it first debuted, so we recommend getting in fast to get your fill of the best fall flavors.

There’s no question — cakes are way more fun when they’re Funfetti!

funfetti cake pillsburySource: Pillsbury

Funfetti sure knows how to party! In addition to the colorful classic mix, celebrations like Halloween, Valentine’s Day and Fourth of July have been made easier with seasonal cake mix and frosting. Now, Pillsbury is introducing its first new permanent Funfetti flavors since the original launched 30 years ago. Woo hoo!

Is Funfetti the best confetti cake mix? See the results of our taste test.

New Flavor #1: Unicorn Funfetti

Celebrations of all kinds—birthdays, baby showers, Wednesdays—are about to get more fun thanks to the new Unicorn Funfetti cake mix. It’s not quite the three-tier unicorn cake at Sam’s Club, but this bake-your-own unicorn cake mix and frosting set delivers all the rainbow goodness you need. The strawberry-flavored cake is speckled with yellow and purple candy pieces, and the matching vanilla frosting is topped with purple and pink unicorns, yellow stars and a mix of pink, purple and blue sprinkles. Magical!

New Flavor #2: Galaxy Funfetti

3, 2, 1, blastoff! The Galaxy Funfetti set comes with yellow mix and “Space Blue” frosting. Launched in honor of the moon landing’s 50th anniversary, the cake mix features green, blue and purple confetti candy bits. The galaxy theme comes to life with a mix of sprinkles shaped like yellow stars, orange moons and gray spaceships.

Where You Can Find the Cake Mix

The Unicorn Funfetti and Galaxy Funfetti mixes are starting to pop up at grocery stores across the country. Both flavors should be available nationwide by September. Until then, here’s our guide on making a confetti cake from scratch. Happy baking!

Dairy Queen’s Snickers Blizzard Is Making a Comeback

It’s back by popular demand!

Dairy Queen already wowed us once this summer by releasing two (!) Reese’s Blizzards. Even though Dairy Queen’s menu right now is made for hot days, the chain has at least one more surprise. This August, Dairy Queen is bringing back the beloved Snickers Blizzard, and we can’t wait for the ice cream goodness.

Snickers Blizzard Is BACK!

Dairy Queen announced on Twitter that the Snickers Blizzard would return because customers kept asking about it. This popular Blizzard Treat dropped off the menu back in 2016, much to the disappointment of fans everywhere. But people sent so many messages to Dairy Queen—the Snickers Blizzard is the chain’s most-requested treat—that it was time for a triumphant return.

What’s not to adore about this Blizzard, honestly? It combines smooth vanilla soft serve with rich chocolate sauce and pieces of Snickers bars. The bit of crunch from the peanuts and gooey-ness of the caramel really make this Blizzard extra special. You get a variety of textures and sweet-and-salty flavors dancing around in every spoonful. Perfect for a hot August day!

See how much the original Blizzard cost in 1985.

What Else Is New at DQ?

Besides the return of the Snickers Blizzard, Dairy Queen is mixing up other fresh flavors. It seems that a Peanut Butter Pie Blizzard will also be joining the Snickers Blizzard as the August Treat of the Month.

What exactly is a Peanut Butter Pie Blizzard? Well, it’s like a Snickers Blizzard… with an extra twist! The Peanut Butter Pie Blizzard starts with Dairy Queen’s classic vanilla soft serve. Just add some peanut butter, graham cracker and Snickers pieces to create this delicious treat.

We’ll be making two trips to Dairy Queen to try both Blizzards. Don’t have a DQ in your neighborhood? Don’t worry, you can whip up this frosty peanut butter pieto tide you over.

Elevate Your Summer Desserts With This Toasted Marshmallow Whipped Cream

Toasted Marshmallow Whipped Cream
Source: Taste of Home

Just when we thought summer couldn’t get any better.

We’ve seen plenty of wacky whipped cream flavors, so you’d think this roasty-toasty marshmallow whip would have been a thing a long time ago. We’re not complaining, because this summer we’re indulging in the sweet and smoky taste of toasted marshmallows on everything.

S’mores are out and Toasted Marshmallow Whipped Cream from Gay Lea is in! (We’re just kidding, s’mores, we still love you.)

Why Haven’t I Heard of This?

It’s anyone’s guess. News of this delicacy first came from Sparks Events on Instagram, after they tried the whipped cream at a marketing event. Needless to say, it was a hit with all samplers. It’s creamy, dreamy and gives any treat that deliciously flame-kissed taste you can only get from food cooked over a campfire. Well, until now.

A little digging into the nutrition facts confirms the whipped cream doesn’t include artificial flavors. You could probably rack up a few calories spraying the whipped cream directly into your mouth though, since there are about 10 calories in a tablespoon. Is that going to stop us? (No.)

Love coffee? Try this creamy latte with Toasted Marshmallow Whipped Cream on top.

Where Can I Get Mine?

Now this is the tricky part. Unfortunately, Toasted Marshmallow Whipped Cream is only available at select retailers in Canada. If you live in the land of maple leaves, this is great news! For everyone else, not so much. It’s not available for online order, but if you can get across the border before summer ends, you can snag a can. (You can also drop a dollop of marshmallow fluff onto your favorite summer munchie instead.)

Still craving the unique flavor of Gay Lea whipped cream? No worries! Their Real Coconut Whipped Topping is available in the U.S., and trust us—it’s as good as it sounds.

If not, you can always add your favorite flavors to this homemade whipped cream recipe.

Walmart Recalls 23,000 Containers of Baby Formula for Metal Contamination

If you’re a parent, you might want to keep an eye on this recall.

With the latest recalls in mind, finding extraneous materials in your munchies seems like it’s becoming commonplace. Just last week, El Monterey breakfast burritos were recalled for containing rocks, and Ragu followed with its own plastic-infused recall a couple days later.

This time, though, more than 23,000 cases of Walmart-exclusive Parent’s Choice baby formula are recalled due to metal contamination. The Parent’s Choice recall was issued on June 21, 2019, and affects Walmart stores nationwide. You can find the full FDA statement here.

parents choice baby food recallVIA PERRIGRO.COM

What products are recalled?

First and foremost, not all Parent’s Choice baby formula is recalled. You’ll want to be on the lookout for Advantage Infant Formula Milk-Based Powder with Iron, specifically the 35-oz. variety. In total, 23,388 units were officially recalled by Walmart and the formula’s parent company, Perrigo.

This recall is voluntary and issued with an abundance of caution. Luckily, no hospitalizations or injuries have been reported.

Here’s how to stay ahead of those nasty recalls.

How do I know if I have one of these products?

If you think you have one of these products, be extremely cautious and find alternative food for your child. Look for the lot code C26EVFV and a Use By date of February 26, 2021. Both of these numbers can be found on the bottom of the container. Found these numbers? Your infant formula is part of the recall.

Give your little one the best of the best with our favorite organic baby foods.

I have one of these products! What should I do with it?

Stop using the contaminated baby formula now. Walmart and Perrigo urge buyers not to use the formula and instead return it to the place of purchase. Walmart is handing out full refunds for recalled products. If you need to grab a replacement in time for dinner, you’ll have no problem getting an exchange.

Any consumer questions can be directed to Perrigo Consumer Affairs at 866-629-6181. You can call them at any time, and they’ll be happy to help.

Taco Bell Is Officially One of the Healthiest Fast Food Chains

Photo: Taste of Home

In 2019, anything is possible, including eating healthy at your favorite fast food chain. Leading the way as one of the healthiest fast food restaurants is Taco Bell.

While you might not normally equate fast food with wholesome eating, there are actually options you can get from the drive thru that are on the healthier side. With menu items like the Crunchwrap Supreme and $1 Nacho Fries (we tried ’em), it may come as a surprise that Taco Bell offers up some of the healthiest options on the fast food scene. Dig a little deeper into their menu and you’ll find that there are some better-for-you options if you don’t have time to make a homemade meal. (Have time on your hands? Try these fiesta-worthy recipes for tacos, fajitas and more.)

Over the past several years, Taco Bell has positioned themselves as one of the best fast food chains for healthy food, making strides to offer customizable options across their menu for their health-conscience customers.

According to the nutrition page on their website, these are some of the quality improvements they’ve made over the past few years to their menu:

  • Reduced sodium across the menu by 15 percent since 2008, with a push to have a total 25 percent reduction soon
  • Removed artificial flavors and colors and replaced them with natural alternatives
  • Source 100% cage-free eggs for our breakfast menu. Will introduce 100% cage-free egg ingredients into our core menu in 2018.
  • Serve chicken raised without antibiotics important to human medicine in U.S. restaurants

While these options and improvements are great, and definitely a step toward healthier eating, it’s largely up to the customer to customize smart choices, like ordering vegetarian or vegan options, or calorie-cutting with their ‘Fresco’ option to remove cheese, rice, sour cream, and add in pico de gallo.

“We just really encourage people to customize to however it fits their lifestyle,” Missy Schaaphok, Taco Bell’s in-house nutritionist and dietitian told Business Insider.
