TGI Fridays Reveals Butcher Box Concept, Lets You Order Meats To Grill At Home

With many of us staying at home as much as possible, at least until there’s an end in sight for this pandemic, recreating our favorite restaurants’ taste keeps us partially sane.

TGI Fridays’ latest Butcher Shop concept will let you grill up all your favorite Fridays proteins right from home. Sure, take out is always an option, but there’s nothing like biting into something that’s only seconds off the grill.

The Butcher Shop package comes with your favorite meats offered at the restaurant chain. This includes uncooked premium meats accompanied by accoutrements to build a hearty meal with:

The Surf & Turf Kit features two flat iron steaks, four chicken breasts, two salmon filets, and 18 garlic-marinated shrimp, sides, salad, and breadsticks with seasonings, butter, and the chain’s signature Whiskey Glaze.

Not gonna lie, the ability to control how much Whiskey Glaze I throw on my meat is a HUGE incentive to try this for me.

You can find these Butcher Shop Kits by ordering from the Butcher Shop section on the TGI Fridays Website.

TGI Friday’s Replaces Woman With Mozzarella Stick In Viral Catcalling Video

Rob Bliss is at it again.

Creator of the controversial catcalling video and the inconsequential makeover of a homeless veteran, Bliss is the reigning champion of viral video marketing. It’s no surprise that major fast casual chain TGI Friday’s reached out to him to promote their newly priced Endless Appetizers.

The resulting video, entitled “#AppCalling,” draws from Bliss’ catcall awareness fame.

While this video is clearly tongue-in-cheek, appropriately objectifying an object, the superimposition of a mozzarella stick where most of the Internet knows a female once walked pulls the brand back into dangerous territory.

By turning a woman into an appetizer, the video manages to literally objectify her while trivializing the highly prevalent and sensitive issue of street harassment.

But you can order as many different appetizers you want for $12, so I guess it’s OK.

TGI Friday’s Mistletoe Drone Promotion Off to a Terrible, Bloody Start

You can’t imagine how difficult it was not titling this piece of content something along the lines of “TGI Friday’s ‘Mistle Toe Drone’ Promotion Ends in a Blood Bath.” Even then, we wouldn’t be too far off the mark from what occurred at a TGI Friday’s location in Brooklyn yesterday.

For those unfamiliar, TGI Friday’s has launched a Mistletoe Drone promotion that encourages customers to swap saliva when a camera-touting drone flies above them while dining.

According to a lengthy account by Brooklyn Daily writer Vanessa Ogle during a press trip to document the drone, photographer Georgine Benvenuto was hit by the drone, cutting her nose and chin.

According to the recount of the evening, Ogle mentions that one of the two remote-controlled helicopters dangling sprigs of sexual inebriation (mistletoe or whatever) lost control and clipped the photographer in the face with one of its spinning, uncovered blades.

“It literally chipped off a tip of my nose,” said Benvenuto, using tissues to stanch the blood. “It took off part of my nose and cut me here, right under my chin.

The Brooklyn Daily article ends up noting a back-and-forth blame game between the in-store drone operator David Quiones and the injured Benvenuto. If you have a couple minutes to read, it’s quite humorous. If you don’t have that kind of time, the TL;DR version is that Benvenuto is indeed going to live following this incident, as onlookers claim it looked like nothing but a mere scratch.

Here Is Why You Should Make Out in TGI Friday’s This Christmas

Last month, we reported that a TGI Friday’s in the UK had a flying drone that hovered over customers with a piece of mistletoe. If the couple gets picked, they have to kiss in front of the entire restaurant.

Looks like the Friday-lovin’ restaurant chain is bringing this tradition to the US. Appearing in select restaurant locations throughout the country, TGI Friday’s will start piloting drones for the Christmas season.

Like their UK counterparts, the drones will hover over couples and put them on blast for all the restaurant’s patrons. Interestingly, whether they kiss or not is up to them. However, TGI Friday’s is rewarding those willing to publicly display their affection with a special gift card.

Not quite sure yet on TGI Friday’s system for determining who qualifies as a couple. Either the pilot will just pick two people at random or spend a decent amount of time watching people eat before sending the drone flying toward them.

TGI Fridays Thinks Ribs Don’t Have Enough Pork, Covers Them in Bacon

bacon ribs

TGI Fridays released a commercial Tuesday promoting their new Rib Flight Trio special.

Casually sprinkled within this commercial are some bacon-crusted ribs. BACON-CRUSTED RIBS. For some completely unfathomable reason, they didn’t make these ribs the main attraction of the video. I guess pork slapped on top of pork isn’t a big deal to them.

So, the other four baby back ribs flavors featured in the video are pretty standard. They offer their Chipotle, sweet Memphis Rub, Tennessee BBQ and Jack Daniel’s BBQ ribs. Those are all cool and probably delicious, but can we please talk more about the Applewood Bacon-Crusted freaking baby back ribs?

These ribs have chopped up pieces of bacon covering every square inch of the baby back rib!

Anyway, the Rib Flight Trio special allows you to try up to three of the different flavors at once for $10. We just need to try the one, thanks.
