San & Wolves is the First All Vegan Filipino Bakeshop

The concept of a vegan lifestyle isn’t all that common in the Philippines, and though there is a burgeoning contingent of vegan Filipinos, there remains a dearth of vegan options in Filipino cuisine. That’s why my interest was piqued when I first started to hear the buzz around San & Wolves Bakeshop, which is the first all vegan Filipino bakeshop of its kind.

Owner Kym Estrada shared, “I’ve been vegan for a decade and I just wanted people to have a taste of my culture. I’ve met a lot of people like myself, and I thought to myself that I need to feed these people, because a lot of them would want the same things I want.”

Estrada pretty much makes everything from scratch, which then goes into the myriad of soy free, nut free, and palm oil free pastries. That level of control over foundational ingredients ensures a truly vegan product. Customers can get vegan versions of unique Filipino pastries like Ube Cinnamon Rolls, Chocolate Pandan Cake, and even Buko Pop-Tarts.

Check out the video above for a delicious dive into the vegan Filipino treats at San & Wolves Bakeshop.

Reese’s has been on an absolute roll in 2021, debuting a flourish of new flavors and iterations like Peanut Butter Iced Coffee, Ultimate Peanut Butter Lovers Cup, and a massive Peanut Butter Cup Pie. Their latest release was spotted out in the wild recently by @the.snackmaster and it’s a large peanut butter cup filled with bits of potato chips.

Dubbed the Reese’s Potato Chips Big Cup, the new snack is laced inside with potato chips, providing a salty and sweet dynamic that’s long been undefeated in the snack realm. These were spotted at Walgreens, so keep an eye out at your local retailers if you’re looking to try the new Reese’s Potato Chips Big Cup.

Milk Bar’s New CinnaSwirl Pie Is a Mesmerizing Slice of Sweet Bliss

We recently covered The Milk Bar Holiday Lab, which is a new seasonal program from Milk Bar that drops exclusive items weekly. Last week marked the return of Milk Bar’s fan-favorite Thanksgiving Croissants, this week it’s the debut of their new Cinnaswirl Pie.

Think of the Cinnaswirl Pie as the result of a cheesecake and a cinnamon bun tag teaming and laying the smack down on your tastebuds. But since we’re all about self-satisfaction here, the juicy deets are as follows: creamy cheesecake swirled with a decadent brown sugar-cinnamon mix, set inside a crunchy Cinnamon Toast cereal crust. I might mess around and self-hypnotize myself with that swirl to eat a whole pie.

Grab a pie or four this Sunday, November 21, at 2pm EST online at milkbarstore.com/holidaylab for $52 for a whole pie or in-store at Milk Bar’s NYC and LA Flagships for $7 per slice.

Dill Pickle Gummies Exist, Are You Down?

East Tasty, a confectioner out in East Nashville, Tennessee, has found itself in our news radar because of a particular flavor of gummies that they’re serving up for the month of July: Dill Pickle.

According to East Tasty, each batch of the Dill Pickle Gummies contains actual dill seed and dill weed. Consider me intrigued. Surely this is the perfect gift for the pickle lover in your life. But make sure to act quick and cop here, since this is just a July flavor from East Tasty.

Now imagine a pickleback using these Dill Pickle Gummies instead? It’s crazy enough to work.

PEBBLES Has Ice Cream Made From Actual Cereal Milk

PEBBLES is celebrating their 50th birthday in a big way this year by re-imagining their iconic Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles cereals in ice cream form — and they’re made with actual cereal milk!

This new Fruity PEBBLES light ice cream starts with a fruity cereal milk light ice cream base that’s blessed with rice cereal bits coated in fruity flavors and a fruity swirl. The Cocoa PEBBLES light ice cream version is made with both chocolate and cereal milk light ice creams swirled with chocolatey rice cereal pieces.

These new ice creams claim to have half the fat and one-third fewer calories than regular ice cream, to which I’m tempted to call cap. But according to the labels, both contain 150 calories per two-third cup serving and are available in a 48-ounce container.

Okay, I’m all in.

PEBBLES new light ice creams are sold for a suggested retail price of $5.99. Fruity PEBBLES light ice cream is also available in a 14-ounce container for $2.99.
