A Frozen SURGE Could Be Coming to Burger King

UPDATE November 4,  6:20 p.m.: If you take a look at Burger King’s updated nutritional information for November, 2015, there’s already info provided on the Frozen SURGE in 12, 16 and 20-ounces. Right above that is another 90s nugget that might make you freak out with nostalgia in the Vault soda (Not frozen, apparently.)

An anonymous tipster sent us an internal document showing that Burger King might be planning to debut a frozen SURGE drink from November 16 to January 31.

Yes, we’re talking about the same cult-classic Surge that was discontinued back in 2003 and has made a recent comeback.

Mostly for nostalgic purposes, Surge had fans urging the radioactive-looking 90s drink to make a comeback and now that is available in stores again, it looks like Burger King is jumping on the chance to make something awesome with it.

Here’s a photo with specific instructions given to the Burger King staff on how to get the frozen Surge operating. It sounds like they’re just going to do a quick swap with their pre-existing frozen drinks:

Burger King stores will have the Surge product sent to them by November 15, and it looks like they’re probably getting Surge promo items sent as well:

Burger King has not made any official announcement, and it could just be a test run at a few specific stores, but hopefully we’ll all be enjoying a Surge brain freeze later this November.

Somehow Surge is the No. 1 selling drink on Amazon right now.

Let me rephrase that. Of course Surge is the No. 1 selling drink on Amazon. If you grew up in the ’90s, there’s no way you don’t remember Surge. You have to had seen the cheesy commercials at some point while watching The Tick and Eek! the Cat cartoons.

The recent resurgence of Surge through Amazon had ’90s kids giddy, and they expressed their happiness through the Amazon comments. Albeit, these are some strange comments, but if you want to relive your childhood, they’re perfect.

Cult Soda Surge Made Available on Amazon, Sells out Immediately

Surge-Cover

Arguably the most popular soda of our childhoods has made a swift return. Yessir, if Coca-Cola ever had a child with Mountain Dew, it was Surge. While the citrus-flavored soda didn’t sell as well as most of the other carbonated beverages stocked on shelves at the time, its absence has definitely made many hearts grow fonder.

Dark times fell upon the soda world in 2003 when the soft drink was discontinued only seven years after it made its public debut. The Surge Movement, which was created to bring back Surge years ago, has more than 130K fans of the cult beverage. Coca-Cola has noticed this and made strides to quietly bring back the niche product. Upon being released on Amazon, the cult soda was sold out almost immediately. Another batch was posted and then also quickly sold out.

Surge’s brief, but messianic return can be considered a sign that the soda will be here to stay. According to Coca-Cola, this comeback will be a test to see if it’s worth restocking store shelves with the product. Yes, Coca-Cola. It most definitely is.

Never have we seen a product get such a near perfect review on Amazon. That’s the love of Surge for you.
