Chick-Fil-A Is Quietly Testing Spicy Strips And Fans Are Losing Their Minds

While several fast food restaurants scramble to make stunt food like Mac N’ Cheetos, or “Potacos,” Chick-Fil-A can make very minimal changes and still get its fans excited.

Case in point, the Spicy Chick-N-Strips they’re currently testing in Philadelphia and several regions in Texas. Phoenix will be added as a test city August 25, so it’s slowly expanding.

Spicy strips are one of those things that makes you wonder how they weren’t already on the nationwide menu, but they aren’t, and certainly should be.

The 3rd largest fast food chain in the U.S. has always kept its menu fairly simple, and these new strips fall in line with that simplicity.

According to Chick-Fil-A, these strips will use the same spicy blend as their spicy chicken sandwich, so it will be very familiar to customers.

The strips are being sold in three and four-count entrees, and will rely on these test cities to see if it’s worth a larger launch.

Of course, fans of the chicken sandwich restaurant are already on board with the strips, and are praying for a permanent release:

It’s pretty evident that Chick-Fil-A fans are pretty riled up over the idea of spicy strips. I don’t see anyone being opposed to them being a permanent menu item.

Hopefully we see them soon, but Chick-Fil-A has broken our spicy hearts before, nixing their spicy nugget tests, and taking the spicy chicken biscuit off the menu.

Here’s hoping for some spicy redemption from the inventors of the chicken sandwich.

Shake Shack Is Dropping A New Hot Chicken Sandwich Soon And We Can’t Wait

We already know that Shake Shack goes above and beyond when it comes to quality across their entire menu. They were the only place not dedicated to fried chicken to make our top 10 list for fast food fried chicken spots because of the TLC that goes into their perfect version of what most places treat as a throwaway item. Shake Shack’s newest take on fried chicken appears to maintain that same level of respect to the crispy bird game.

The East Coast burger institution is hopping on the spicy chicken bandwagon with their brand new Hot Chick’n sandwich. Shake Shack is turning up the heat on their normal buttermilk fried chicken breast with a dusting of guajillo chili and cayenne pepper blend. Louisiana hot sauce slaw and dill pickles complement this simple but fiery sandwich.

If you’re hoping to get a taste of it, you can find it at any Shake Shack not in an airport or stadium starting August 1st. Hopefully, when we go try it for the first time, the line’s not as long as it is at Howlin’ Rays.

Here’s Exactly Where You Can Still Get Chick-fil-A’s Beloved Spicy Chicken Biscuit, Despite Being Discontinued

It was a sad day at the Foodbeast office when we discovered Chick-fil-A had discontinued their Spicy Chicken Biscuit. The beloved sandwich was our go-to breakfast item whenever we frequented the house that chicken built.

Last year, Chick-fil-A discontinued the spicy chicken biscuit. It was also on that day that fellow Foodbeast and Mexican Mercutio Isai Rocha put his fist through a concrete wall.

Brand Eating discovered that despite discontinuation, sometimes you just can’t keep a good biscuit down.

Here’s a list of all the cities and states that still carry the coveted item. Looks like we’re taking a road trip to San Jose sometime soon.

Taco Bell’s New Volcano Crispy Chicken Chips Are The Perfect Spicy Snack

Move over, nachos. Taco Bell just found a meaty way to outclass you.

According to Brand Eating, Taco Bell is testing a new snack product called the “Volcano Crispy Chicken Chip.” The chicken chips come in orders of either 6 or 12, and each order of 6 comes with a choice of a dipping sauce. The sauces available are nacho cheese, spicy ranch, or Taco Bell’s infamous Lava Sauce (basically, a spicy queso that was discontinued but has started reappearing on the Taco Bell menu).

The chicken chips are on the cheap side as well, with an order of six costing $1.99 and a dozen chips costing $3.99. Great pricing for a meaty, on-the-go snack that we will all enjoy.

Basically, these Volcano Crispy Chicken Chips are a meaty spin on nachos. Instead of boring old tortilla chips, you can now dip meaty chips into your cheese sauce and create a more hearty, epic snack. This is the way nachos should be done — less messy, plenty of protein, and includes all of the goodness of nachos that we love and adore.

Currently, the chicken chips are only available in the Knoxville, Tennessee area, but it’s possible that a nationwide launch is on the way soon.

You know you want to, Taco Bell. Give the people what they want. Give us all meaty chicken nachos.

The New Carl’s Jr. Commercial Features Lil Dicky Sensually Eating Burgers

Carls-Lil-Dicky-Promo

Earlier this year, Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s announced the addition of a new kind of value menu: The $4 Real Deal. For four bucks, customers of the fast food chains get a Double Cheeseburger, a Spicy Chicken Sandwich, small fries and a drink.

Now, Carl’s Jr. has dropped a new commercial for that deal featuring rapper and value aficionado Lil Dicky. Shot with the help of 72andSunny’s LA office, the video highlights the value deal. Just a heads up, as with most Carl’s Jr celebrity commercials, there may be some intense sensuality when it comes to burger eating.

We got an early look at the TV spot, set to air early tomorrow morning, check it out!
