355,000 Cans Of SpaghettiOs Recalled For Plastic Bits In The Sauce

Campbell Soup Company is issuing a recall of 355,000 SpaghettiOs cans after it was discovered that pieces of red plastic lining was found in the tomato sauce. Consumerist reports that because of the choking hazard that this presents, the company is recalling the cans of Original Flavor.

The 14.2 ounce cans in question have February 22, 2016 on the bottom of each lid with a UPC number of 51000 22432. Campbell says to return the cans to the store where they were purchased, but if consumers are unable to, they should call the company’s recall line at 1-866-535-3774.

Can’t have plastic bits interrupting our SpaghettiOs time.

While the pieces of plastic were discovered through numerous customer complaints, it doesn’t look like anyone was hurt yet from the product.

Woman Jailed After Cops Mistake SpaghettiOs for Meth

“What are you in for?” One woman’s unfortunate answer was that the police thought her SpaghettiOs were methamphetamine.

The Gainsville Times reported that Ashley Huff, 23, was stopped by police on a traffic infraction involving her tag light. The car was allowed to be searched and when the officer looked inside a bag of hers, he found a spoon containing a “clear, crystal-like substance.” The officer also noticed sores on the woman, which by deductive reasoning, led him to believe she was probably on something.

The woman tried to explain that it was just leftover residue from SpaghettiOs, but to no avail, as the officer said his field test kit concluded that it was meth.

A month later, she was cleared of all charges as lab results showed no traces of any controlled substances.

Bet she’ll never eat SpaghettiOs again.

Cheeseburger-Flavored SpaghettiOs Sound Like The Ultimate Munchies Cure

There are certain foods you’ll only eat if you’re a child or high. New CheeseburgerOs from Campbell just happens to be both.

Growing up, we always begged for the original SpaghettiOs because of the cool skateboarding pasta on the label and because for some reason, we actually kind of liked that weird aluminum flavor. But for anyone past the age of 10, there hasn’t really been much reason to go back to those canned pasta days until now.

Perfect for nights when you’re craving both cheeseburgers and spaghetti but don’t have the willpower to make either, the new CheeseburgerOs are the first new flavor for SpaghettiOs in over twenty years (past renditions have included PizzOs and CheesOs). They also feature an estimated 750 pieces per 15-ounce can, all swimming around in a cheeseburger-flavored meat sauce which – we hope – also tastes excellent when spread on top of an actual burger.

Plus, it’s cheap, easy and fast, and when you’re wandering around the grocery store after 2 a.m., can you really ask for anything else?

Cravings Recipes

Craving: Meatballs and Spaghetti

When you’re super hungry and too lazy to get creative, what’s better to eat than meatballs and spaghetti. Whether it’s Spaghetti-Os or home cooked, spaghetti with those delectable spheres of heaven are all you need for a happy tummy. I usually just eat the meatballs that are premade and sold in the frozen food section at Costco, but if you want to have some of that home-cooked taste, try this recipe. (Thx SmittenKitchen)

Craving: Spaghettios

Spaghettios are a delicate subject in the psychological food universe. It’s not necessarily a product you can quickly adapt to as an adult if you’ve never had the pleasure of enjoying it during your youth. Like breast milk, every so often you’ll garner a strange sudden urge and taste in your mouth, and you’ll think hard about what it is that you’re craving…and it’ll either be the previously mentioned milk, or Spaghettios. Of course, I’m only speaking for myself, and I’ll keep pizza rolls for a separate posting in the future…but right now, I need a can of the nastiest, kiddiest mushy Spaghettios I can get my hands on.
