A Sour Patch Kids Store, First Of Its Kind, Just Opened In NYC

Fans of the iconic Sour Patch Kids candies just got a whole new experiential way to enjoy the treats, as Mondelēz International, the conglomerate who owns the brand, just opened a Sour Patch Kids store.

Now open to the public in New York City, the Sour Patch Kids Store is a permanent experience that sells a variety of takes on the iconic sour-sweet candy. In addition to plenty of merch, there’s an entire menu of treats like freak shakes and ice cream sandwiches that incorporate Sour Patch Kids in multiple ways.

All of these treats were built for Instagram, whether it be the clouds of Sour Patch Kids Cotton Candy or the kaleidoscopic waffle treat, which is surrounded by a layer of the cotton candy as well.

While the building is exclusive to New York, one facet of the shop is now available to everyone nationwide. By heading to Sour Patch Kids’ website, you can create your own custom packs of the candies that can get shipped to your home.

With the opening of a store during the COVID-19 pandemic will obviously come concerns of health and safety. For now, Sour Patch Kids will be limiting the creations their store sells to take out orders only. Additionally, a 50% capacity limit will be set on the store, and all guests will be required to wear face masks. Any tongs and scoops at candy stations will be sanitized, and guests using them will also have to wear disposable gloves.

More details on how the store will implement safety measures to prevent potential spread of COVID-19 can be found here.

The Sour Patch Kids store is a unique new way to enjoy the candies, and the treats they’re making look colorful and should be a hit with those who love them.

Chips Ahoy! x Sour Patch Kids Crossover Is The Cookie Collab We NEED

Ever face the dilemma while snack shopping where you absolutely can’t choose between the richness of a cookie with the sour blast of sweetness that comes from Sour Patch Kids? It’s something many of us have faced at some point in our youths… and well into our thirties.

Well, choose no further with the latest collaboration between Chips Ahoy! cookies and Sour Patch Kids. Yes, you read that right.

The new cookie hybrid features the sweet and crunchy texture of a Chips Ahoy! cookie souped up with the sweet and sour candy-inspired chunks of Sour Patch Kids. It’s essentially biting into a delectable cookie while popping pieces of Sour Patch Kids into your mouth, which frankly sounds amazing.

Wish these existed the last time I went to the movies. Then I wouldn’t have to spend a fortune on cookies and candy.

You can find this new flavor of Chips Ahoy! cookie at participating retailers nationwide starting May.

Sour Patch Kids Sneakers Are Perfect For Those Obsessed With The Candy

Sour Patch Kids has been dropping collabs all over the place recently, ranging from cereals to ice cream. Their latest, however, isn’t actually a food, but a new basketball shoe collab between the candy, Under Armour, and basketball superstar Steph Curry.

The new limited-edition Curry 7 Sour Patch Kids collection just recently dropped in China. Marked with Sour Patch Kids all over the inside of the shoe, the outside comes in two colorways: peach and lime. Sour Patch Kids can also be found on the heel backing and pull tab of the shoe.

Sadly, purchasing these sneakers does not get you a free bag of Sour Patch Kids on the side, but there’s some unique tissue paper featuring the sweets and Steph’s own logo on the inside. Could make for some unique wrapping paper, perhaps?

If you want to snag a pair for your collection, these will drop on Under Armour’s website, in their stores, and at other select retailers nationwide on November 29th. Each pair will cost $140.

Otter Pops Ditch Their Trademark Colors In Favor of No Artificial Dyes

Summertime is here, which means the birds are singing and the ice pops are freezing.

Otter Pops, a west coast classic for ice pops, is giving the otters a makeover. Gone are the artificial dyes, as well as the artifical flavors.

“Naturally flavored with other natural flavors,” the box proudly reads.

The new pops are made with 100% fruit juice, mostly an apple juice conentrate.

What’s most apparent is the lack of their trademark vibrant colors, as a result of ditching artificial dyes. Now, they’re a light tan, somewhere in between apple juice and a ripe banana.

Thankfully, each flavor retains its original appeal, mostly. The apple juice taste is entirely present, but the flavors we know and love are still very much alive and well. Louie-Bloo Raspberry, Strawberry Short Kook, Sir Isaac Lime, Alexander the Great — the gang’s all here.

These new otters are only available at Costcos in California, Oregon, and Washington for now.

Personally, I’ll be driving to the nearest Costco and copping a box as soon as possible. Nothing can stop me from devouring five at midnight now that I don’t even have to feel bad about it.

Plus they won’t turn my mouth and lips an intense cherry red or blue-purple?

I may need two boxes.

Dairy Queen’s Latest Blizzard Is Filled With Sour Patch Kids

July is probably your favorite month of the year and you don’t even realize it. Why you may ask? Well because it’s “National Ice Cream Month”! Duh!

What would National Ice Cream Month be without new and crazy flavor combos? And few ice cream brands are more known for such flavor combos than Dairy Queen. This month Dairy Queen is teaming up with Sour Patch Kids to bring you the NEW SOUR PATCH KIDS Blizzard Treat. The SOUR PATCH KIDS Blizzard Treat blends together the tangy chewiness of Sour Patch Kids Bitz and the sweetness of Sour Patch Kids Redbury Flavor in ice cream harmony. Perfect for the summer sweet tooth.

And if the NEW SOUR PATCH KIDS Blizzard Treat wasn’t enough, DQ created an interactive, mobile-first game called ‘DQ Spoon-A-Pult.’ In the game, players use a red spoon to catapult tiny SOUR PATCH KIDS into pools of Blizzard treats. Poor kids. With a gameplay style similar to Whac-A-Mole, if you’ve ever been in a real food fight, then ‘DQ Spoon-A-Pult’ is right up your alley. The game is available through @DairyQueen Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, or on mobile devices by visiting dqspoonapult.com/.

The NEW SOUR PATCH KIDS Blizzard Treat will be available at participating DQ locations nationwide through the month of July.

Sour Patch Kids Cereal Is Coming And We Are Counting Down The Days

Your palate goes on a dual journey when experiencing the wonders of a Sour Patch Kid. First, the initial shock of the sour notes take a hold of your taste buds before succumbing to the sweet embrace of the sugary finale. Now they say you shouldn’t have candy for breakfast, but wouldn’t you want to undergo something that wondrous first thing in the morning?

If you’re a fan of Sour Patch Kids, prepare to experience childlike joy as you discover you can now have the sweet and sour gummies for breakfast — in the form of a cereal.

Post’s new Sour Patch Kids Cereal features kid-shaped pieces glazed with a sour coating that eventually leads to a sweet finish. Never experienced a cereal that’s sour before, but if it’s anything like the candy, I’m more than happy to give it a shot.

Sweet-toothed children, adults, and anyone with a spot in their hearts for Sour Patch Kids will be able to enjoy the new breakfast cereal at the end of next month. Beginning December 26, Walmart stores will be stocking their shelves with the new breakfast item, eventually making a wider release at major grocery retailers in 2019.

Consider this old man hyped.

Sour Patch Kids Candy Corn Is Coming To Stores For Halloween

There’s been such a divide among candy lovers when it comes to candy corn. The iconic Halloween snack either sends shivers down your spine, or perks your sweet tooth right up. In my case, there’s a gallon-sized trash bag filled with yellow and orange sweet in my bedroom that usually lasts me the year.

With candy corn on the mind, our buddy @junkbanter, posted a photo of an upcoming flavor of Sour Patch Kids CANDY CORN. If you’re thinking these new sweets are simply Sour Patch Kids shaped like candy corn, think again.

The orange and grape flavored Sour Dusted Candy Corn are actual pieces of candy corn dusted with with the sweet and sour sugar that the Sour Patch brand is known for.

Apparently, it doesn’t really taste like candy corn though and rather something that lives in the middle of the two iconic snacks.

You have my curiosity now, guys.

I wonder if this snack will finally be the bridge between that connects Sour Patch lover Elie Ayrouth and candy corn loving old me.

Junkbanter says he grabbed a bag of these at the Dollar General and we can expect to see them on shelves through the Halloween season. Stay spooky, guys.

Sour Patch Kids Turns Up The Heat With New ‘Fire’ Flavor

Sour Patch Kids are bringing a fiery twist to a classic sour, then sweet favorite.

Junk food aficionado @candyhunting, debuted a picture of the new Fire Sour Patch Kids that’s yet to be released. According to the caption, they supposedly “taste like normal Sour Patch Kids, but then there’s a tiny kick of heat in the aftertaste.”

Now there’s different types of heat that can apply. Is it more of a cinnamon-like heat that’ll remind us of a Big Red gum? Or is it more like a hot chili heat, resembling a delicious Vero Mango lollipop? We won’t know for sure until we get a chance to try them ourselves.

There’s no official date of release that’s been set yet, but we’re hoping they come out soon so we can munch on them while we watch their much-anticipated Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade float this year.
