Buffalo Wings and Celery Soap — An Ironic Way to Get Clean

The last thing I would consider using to get my fingers clean would be buffalo wings. Seriously, can you think of a more obnoxiously messy, yet utterly delicious pre-meal? Interesting enough, there will be millions of wings eaten during today’s Super Bowl, and even more millions of dirty fingers that wish one of their favorite foods hadn’t just coated their fingers in buffalo deliciousness.

Who would have thought we’d be able to wash off our fingers with…more buffalo wings? A young lady out of New Jersey by the name of Robyn has found a talent in creating soaps that are dramatically realistic to their real life counterparts.

In this case, Robyn has made some olive-oil based Buffalo Wings and Celery Soap, made-to-order, with custom scents (she has plenty to choose from, from Juicy Watermelon to something called Metro Chic), none of which are buffalo-sauce flavored.

Don’t eat these…in case it wasn’t utterly obvious. ($7.95 @ Etsy)

Bacon-scented Hamburger Soap

Inspired by a love of hamburgers and an attention to detail, soap maker Melin from Boston, MA has made available a realistic hamburger soap that smells like…get this…bacon. Many of the details of actual burgers are accounted for, sesame seeds on the buns, realistic texture on the patty, piece of lettuce and tomato get the detail-treatment as well.

The buns measure 2.5″ in diameter, scented with a french bread fragrance. The patty, lettuce and tomato all carry a bacon fragrance. #win? ($5.79 @ twineggplants)

Bacon Soap

The smell of bacon is almost guaranteed to get anyone up in the morning. In fact, it gets most people going regardless of the time, location or activity taking place. It’s the mentality of, “Drop everything, I smell bacon.” However, there always comes a sad day when the bacon runs out. Good news though! Bacon Soap makes it so you always smell like the aromatic meat. Don’t leave home without a nice lather of pork on your body. ($5.99 @ Think Geek)

Chocolate Chip Cookie Soap

I know this looks delicious but looks can be deceiving! This is a bar of soap disguised as a chocolate chip cookie! It is straight up ninja, it smells and looks just like a chocolate chip cookie! I can’t wait for April fools day! (Thx PK)

Dogfish Head Beer Soap

For some reason anything with the name of Dogfish Head in the form of soap including beer does not sound clean to me. But apparently this soap is made with 90 Minute IPA, ground hops, and barley. It also contains oils of palm, coconut, rice bran and olive, and essential oils of lavender, rosemary, and fir. Wonderfully aromatic and lightly exfoliating. (Thx Dogfish)

Creating Bacon Soap

Before the rise in popularity of the 1999 cult classic film Fight Club, I had no idea where soap came from or how it was created. For those who are still uncertain about its origins, it can be created through seemlessly any sort of fat. The team over at Instructables took this information to heart and used up all their extra grease from their bacon cooking ventures to create a 9-step instructional recipe for this product. I’m not really sure how the soap will interact with the pores on your face (breakouts anyone?), but it is interesting to say the least.
