McDonald’s Houston Is Testing Out Minute Maid Slushies For The Summer

Summer’s already just around the corner, and temperatures are starting to heat up. If you’re in the Houston, Texas area next week and looking to cool down, McDonald’s restaurants in the area are gonna have you covered.

Houston-area franchises will begin testing out three new Minute Maid Slushies on April 10th, just in time for the warm summer months. Customers will be able to choose between Orangeade, Cherry Limeade, or Fruit Punch flavored slushies.

McDonald’s Houston gave a sneak preview of the Slushies at the Mcdonald’s Houston Children’s Festival this past weekend, and man, do they look refreshing.

There’s no telling yet whether these Minute Maid Slushies will come out nationwide. However, they would be perfect for everybody to cool down with during the hot summer months to come.

Kanye West Has Henny And Grey Goose Lemonade Slushie Machines Backstage

Kanye West once said that Hennessy would be the death of him, and it just might be, if he chugs too many of these frozen drinks on tour.

Wednesday night, Kanye performed in Toronto, and of course, his wife Kim Kardashian-West Snapchatted behind the scenes goodies, as she usually does. Among the things she posted to her Snapchat story, were Kanye’s Hennessy & Coke and Grey Goose Lemonade slushie machines.

Kim captioned the photo, “Pablo rider is LIT” and showed off the 7-Eleven type of machines.

It’s not just for show, either. In later Snaps, you can see Kanye holding a cup of the frozen Coke & Henny, while Kim’s shrilled voice gives random commentary in the background.

Kanye has always considered himself a revolutionary and a trend-setter. Maybe convenience stores will see this, take note, and make it a thing, so we can all enjoy the boozy Slurpees.

How to Make an Instant-Coca Cola Slushie

Soda traditionally comes in two states: liquid and FML-I-forgot-it-in-the-freezer solid.

But self-proclaimed King of Random Grant Thompson has turned conventional cola wisdom on its ear with a new discovery — the self-freezing soda. It’s exactly what it sounds like, a trick that allows you to turn any bottle of pop into an instant slushie. Not quite liquid, not quite solid, now you can literally have your cola and chew it too.

Calling this a trick may be overstating matters, since I’m pretty sure this has been invented by about a million other people who’ve accidentally left their Cokes or Dr. Peppers in the freezer too long. And instant is a bit of a misnomer, considering you need three-plus hours of freezer time to get Thompson’s promised “light and fluffy delicious carbonated ice.” (Sorry!) But if you have an intrepid spirit, an afternoon to kill, and no 7-Eleven nearby, learning how to slushify your Coke is a worthy experiment — and cheaper than our other fave new soda-consumption gadget.

Did it work for you? Once the brain freeze fades, let us know.

Behold: Pizza & Spaghetti Slushies at the Same Damn Time

Today I learned that pizzaghetti is a real thing. Yes, in Quebec,  pizza and spaghetti, or “pizzaghetti” is a popular combo meal offered at many restaurants. Like getting fries with your burger, except better and cheesier.

Given the fact that pizza + more cheese and carbs is always a good idea (see “ravioli pizza” for further explanation) convenience store chain Couche-Tard created a pizzaghetti-themed sloche. Although, before you start heading to Canada to get your hands on this frozen curiosity, just know that the actual flavors are disappointingly average.

Reddit comments on another pizzaghetti spotted up North claim that the “pizza” flavor tastes like strawberry and the “ghetti” flavor  tastes like kiwi. What a tease.

Oh, and check out this creepy commercial of pizza and spaghetti getting it on. I mean, if that’s your thing. Enjoy!

Arkeg Drink'n'Game

Remember going to the arcade as a kid and playing games for hours while drinking slushies? What if the game you were playing had a slurpee tap, now that would be the best of both worlds. But wait, now that you’re all grown up you can have the best except with cool, crisp beer of your choice right from your very own arcade keg and tap combo. Get yo’ game on, get yo drank on’.
