Popular California Burger Chain Creates An Eggs Benedict Burger With French Toast Buns

French-Toast-Benny-Slaters

Man, Slater’s 50/50 can really make a hearty burger. The customizable burger chain based in California is best known for their 50/50 patties that combine both ground beef and ground bacon. They also do a Burger of the Month that’s usually something crazy, terrifying and delicious.

January’s burger is the French Toast Benny Burger, based on the Eggs Benedict breakfast dish. Made with a breakfast sausage patty, the burger is served with Canadian Bacon, spinach, a chipotle hollandaise and a sunny-side up egg that’s served on sourdough French Toast.

Kind of a middle finger to anyone with a New Year’s goal of dropping a few pounds.

A 1/3-pound burger is available for $10.95. Slater’s suggests pairing it with Elysian Loser Pale Ale. Sound off in the comments if you were able to try it this month.

Also, remember that Kangaroo Burger they made a while back?

This Anti-New Year’s Resolution Burger Features a 100% Bacon Patty, Fried Egg, Whiskey-Soaked Onions and an Entire Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Every month, SoCal-based burger chain Slater’s 50/50 unveils a new, completely over-the-top, featured hamburger for the month. In the past we’ve seen donut burgers, chorizo burgers, even orange chicken and kangaroo burgers.

Now, Slater’s wants to remind us that New Year’s Resolutions are hard, and skinny will never quite feel as good as bacon tastes, with its latest Excesstasy Burger and Ice Cream Sandwich, available through January.

The burger (and bear with me, because it’s a doozy): two brioche buns tenuously nestled around an all-natural beef patty, a bed of arugula and garlic tomato confit, another 100% ground bacon patty soaked in bone marrow butter, white cheddar, a WHOLE bacon grilled cheese sandwich, Southern Comfort whiskey drunken onions, and a sunny-side up egg, topped off with Slater’s house made thousand island aioli.

And the dessert sandwich: a fresh-basked peanut butter sugar cookie atop two scoops of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream atop a giant homemade peanut butter cup atop two schools of vanilla ice cream, all atop a fresh-baked chocolate chip cookie.

Wash both down with a hoppy pale ale and a porter for a proper start to 2014. Who needs juice cleanses, anyhow?

You’re supposed to outgrow these things. Supposed to make better decisions for yourself and for your body. Supposed to stop eating like a college freshman by combining every cafeteria junk food within reach just because you can.

And you probably will, one day. But not today.

Creators of such gut-busting burger behemoths as the 100% Bacon Burger, the Guinness-Infused Steak Burger and the Donut Sunny Side Up Burger, California burger chain Slater’s 50/50 is serving up a deep fried Supreme Nacho Burger as its featured burger for the month of August. Burrrgeeeerrr.

Here’s the official description:

“Inspired by Make-A-Wish kid Justyn and his alove for nachos, this beef patty is topped with melted cheeses, lettuce, onion, tomato, black beans, bacon, tortilla strips, fresh salsa, and guacamole. Wrapped in a flour tortilla and deep fried, we smother it in nacho cheese sauce, sour cream, and sliced jalapeños.”

Twenty percent of proceeds from the burger’s sales will go to the Make-A-Wish foundation, up to $4000, which will probably leave you with enough guilt-breaking good-will feelings to justify that dessert.

This Restaurant Serves a Burger with Bratwurst, Bacon Sauerkraut and a Bacon Pretzel Bun

Biting at the heels of such burger-novation heavyweights as the Sunny Side Up Egg and Donut Burger, the Spiciest Chain Restaurant Burger and the 100% Bacon Patty ‘Merica Burger, the new (and entirely self-named) Wurst Burger from SoCal chain Slater’s 50/50 may seem a little underwhelming. But at least it has bacon in it.

Featuring a 100% German Bratwurst Patty, Swiss cheese, green apple, rendered bacon sauerkraut and original house mustard sauce on a bacon pretzel bun, this Oktoberfest-inspired monstrosity is Slater’s featured burger for the month at $10.95 — (or about $40-45 if you get it with fries and three beers, which you should).

I mean come on, where’s your Oktoberfest spirit?
