Possibly two of the most iconic video game characters ever, get made with possibly one of the most iconic candies of all time. At first I thought the skittles making up Links’ sword and Mario’s feet were black, but then I remembered there are dark purple skittles in every original bag. Almost discovered a long lost color way. (Thx L’INSOLITE DANS LE JEU VIDEO/Via GameVain)
Skittles is getting the attention it deserves the past couples days in alignment with their rather genius psuedo-interactive ‘TOUCH THE RAINBOW’ campaign. While the candy brand has long touted their famous “Touch the Rainbow” catchphrase, never has it been more alive than in their series of web videos encouraging the end user to press their finger to a point on the screen and become involved with what’s occurring in the narrative. In the case of their Skittles Touch: Cat video, some 600,000 views were logged within two days of the content being live.
Skittles brand is pushing the rainbow, so to speak. Their new variety, Blenders, features an interesting array of five blended fruit flavors. Among the flavors are Melon Berry Burst, Strawberry Lime Blast, Cherry Tropicolada, Watermelon Green Apple Freeze and Mango Lemonade Freeze. Internet and television spots are now in full swing to promote the new candy which comes complete in a vibrant yellow packaging.
In an effort to position the candy as a viable flavor alternative to blended fruit drinks, one of their more memorable television spots include a man who attempts to get rid of his blender because “Skittles Blenders taste like blended fruit drinks, so I don’t need you anymore!” Everything that follows this exchange revolves around the blender flying away and attempting to come back home. Sounds weird, but after watching, hopefully it makes complete sense:
Skittles is rolling out a new and uncommon campaign with the launch of their “Dazzle the Rainbow” line! A challenge that asks fans to bury a man named David Phoenix in a vat of Skittles! The challenge kicked off at 12 noon UK time and already Mr. Phoenix is in big trouble! The Facebook page is already up to 1,375,276 and counting!
We are indeed looking at a 2,000 calorie burrito. What’s it made up of? Hershey’s Bar Classic, Hershey’s Bar w/ Almonds, Hershey’s Cookies and Cream King, 5th Ave, Kit-Kat, Heath Bar, Caramello wrapped up in a flour tortilla. The entire situation of a burrito is cooked in a skillet and then plated, garnished with chocolate Skittles and a fine drizzle of Hershey’s syrup. (Thx TIWYF)
