McDonald’s Serves New Luxury Burgers With Thickest Patties Ever

Things are looking up for McDonald’s. After a rough couple of years, the company finally began to see a rise in sales. A huge chunk of that success goes towards the new all-day breakfast the company is finally offering. Now, they want to add a new line of luxury burgers to stores in the UK.

The Guardian reports that McDonald’s new Signature Collection features three beefed-up burgers: The Classic, The Spicy and The BBQ. Each burger will feature high-quality British and Irish beef in thicker patties. Reportedly the thickest ever served at McDonald’s. The burgers will also boast premium ingredients and sauces, in the same vein as Shake Shack or Five Guys, and are served on a brioche bun.

Development of the burgers was attributed to consumer feedback. The company worked with its internal chef council. Some of whom have also worked in Michelin-starred restaurants.

If successful, McDonald’s Signature Collection could easily make it to menus in the United States. Though the company will probably let franchisees get settled with the all-day breakfast changes first.

Lovely Photo Map Highlights Each State’s Signature Food

Round-ups of foods from around the country are nothing new, but it’s definitely been a while since we’ve seen one as pretty as this.

Inspired by the Olympics and politics, Cooking Channel decided to throw together a “culinary roadmap” of the most iconic foods in each state. Dishes were chosen via votes from Cooking Channel readers and viewers, so blame them if you feel buffalo wings aren’t an accurate representation of New York, or salmon candy of Alaska, or vinegar french fries of Delaware.

Our personal favorite is Nevada, with the Las Vegas All You Can Eat Buffet. Although, vodka would have made a solid runner up.

McDonalds Switzerland Signature Line Includes $12 Burger

Yet again we’re left in the dust while McDonalds debuts some epic menu items everywhere else but here in the U.S. The latest menu we have to be jealous over is the premium Signature Line which is being served all the way in Switzerland.

The Signature Line’s burger is called “The Prime” and runs 10.90 Swiss francs, which translates to a little over $12 USD. The burger, developed with celebrity Swiss chef Rene Schudel, features a 6.3oz  Swiss beef patty, rustic mountain cheese (whatever that means), coleslaw, arugula, and of course a special sauce.

Other items available as part of the Signature Line include “The Chips” which are described as thick potato chips, medallion-cut fries, potato salad, coleslaw, Caesar salad, and couscous salad.

Though no plans have been announced to bring the Signature Line to the U.S., we’re hoping that one day McDonalds will deem us worthy for more premium items like the Bacon Clubhouse.

Here are the Signature Cocktails of All 50 States — Supposedly

Tapping into the geographic pride side of things, Buzzfeed put out a list of 51 signature cocktails, one for each U.S. state, plus the District of Columbia. According to Buzzfeed writer Hannah C. Gregg, each cocktail was chosen “with some semblance of logic: a combination of state origin, popularity, and exclusivity.” Kentucky, for example, was given the mint julep, because Henry Clay brought the drink to congress back in the 18th century. Wisconsin’s is a Tom and Jerry because it’s the “most popular” one there.

I personally haven’t seen California’s state drink, the Mai Tai, ordered since sorority rush week freshman year of college, and based on the comments section, it seems more than a few choices could have been swapped out for more fitting cocktails (a Hurricane for Louisiana; an Old Fashioned for Wisconsin). But hey, alcohol! State pride! What’s not to love?
