Chick-fil-A Actually Opened On A Sunday After A Fatal Shooting

Chick-fil-A is known for being closed on Sundays. It’s a fact that every fan hates, complains about, but eventually accepts. There are exceptions to the rule, however, as a Colorado Chick-fil-A opened its doors and helped feed first responders after a deadly shooting on Sunday, December 31.

The shooting occurred at an apartment in Highlands Ranch, as a suspect shot hundreds of rounds at Colorado deputies, according to Bro Bible.

The gunman killed Douglas County Deputy Zackari Parrish, and wounded six others before being taken down by SWAT, according to Fox 31 Denver.

While a somber day for Coloradans, the Park Meadows Chick-fil-A tried to help by opening its doors and serving 400 chicken sandwiches to first responders.

You might remember that after the tragic Orlando night club shooting in 2016, Chick-fil-A employees went in to work Sunday and made sandwiches for people donating blood to the One Blood center.

Also, just last month, the Chick-fil-A inside Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport also opened on a Sunday, as a massive power outage hit the airport, leading them to hand out sandwiches to passengers.

So Chick-fil-A’s Sunday closure policy isn’t as strict as it seems, but it unfortunately takes terrible occurrences for them to open their doors.

Disgruntled Employee Kills 1, Holds Charleston Restaurant Hostage

CNN reported that a “disgruntled employee” went into the Virginia’s on King restaurant he formerly worked for, and began opening fire, Thursday in Charleston, South Carolina.

There has been one reported death, with another critically wounded, as the shooter held the restaurant hostage.

A suspect was shot, and transported to a hospital, as the hostages were released from the restaurant.

At around 2:30 p.m. ET, there was a reported “loud boom,” in the King St. area, and police quickly surrounded the area, blocking it off, and keeping people away.

An off -the-clock employee told the Post and Courier that from what he heard, a dishwasher at Virginia’s on King got fired, and returned to shoot the chef.

According to witnesses, an older black man walked into the store with a gun, locked the door and proclaimed, “I am the new king of Charleston.”

In a statement that would support the Post and Courier’s report, Charleston mayor John Tecklenburg said in a statement that “this was not a hate crime. This was a disgruntled employee who has come on the scene of his employment.”

Thankfully the hostages were freed, and a suspect was apprehended.

Woman Shoots Her Boyfriend Over A Cold Taco, Seriously

food-450673_1280 (1)

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

A woman in North Houston shot her boyfriend during an argument involving a cold taco, according to FOX11.

The couple was at a local taco truck Monday, when they were served a cold taco. Not being a fan of cold tacos, the woman asked the staff at the truck to reheat her taco, but was rejected.

She then became so furious that she ended up pulling out a gun. The boyfriend, who was trying to calm her down, got shot as a result.

Investigators haven’t figured out yet if the woman actually shot her boyfriend on purpose, or if the gun was fired accidentally in a struggle to calm her down.

I’ve seen people get unhappy over their food not being the way it should (too salty, too cold, too hot, etc.). But I’ve never seen somebody pull out a gun over a cold taco. That’s just crazy.

FOX News has reported that the man will survive the shooting, but there’s no telling yet, if charges will be filed against his girlfriend.

I guess that taco truck employee learned a lesson as well – if someone asks you to reheat a taco, just do it. It’s better than potentially getting shot.

CNN, The New York Times and other sources have reported that an active shooter opened fire Friday evening at a McDonald’s restaurant, across the street from the Olympia-Einkaufszentrum shopping mall in Munich.

As news began to spread across social media, video of what appears to be a man standing in front of a McDonald’s begin firing into a crowd of people.

This is the third consecutive act of mind-numbing violence to occur on European soil in just more than a week. On the evening of July 14, a truck plowed into crowds of people gathering to celebrate Bastille Day, leaving 80 people dead.

Then, on July 20, a teenager, who authorities claimed was inspired by ISIS, attacked several people on a train in Germany. The teenager was killed by police, according to CNN.

It is saddening that these senseless acts of violence continue to take innocent lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Munich and the rest of the world trying to cope with these awful crimes.

Chick-fil-A Was Actually Open On Sunday And They Did A Beautiful Thing

Chick-fil-A opened on a Sunday.

The recent shooting in an Orlando nightclub shocked the country early Sunday morning as a man claimed the lives of 49 people and injured more than 50. The chicken sandwich chain spent an entire day making sandwiches and sending them straight to the OneBlood donation center.

OneBlood is the center taking blood donations to help the victims of the tragic shooting. Workers at the restaurant loaded vehicles filled with Chick-fil-A menu items and drove down to the centers to hand them out to those waiting in line as well law enforcement around the area.

We always talked about what would be big enough to make Chick-fil-A open on a Sunday. This was a for a great reason.

Man Is Shot And Killed By His BFF Over A Restaurant Bill [WATCH]

I’ve heard of disputes over who has to pay the check at the end of the meal, but never like this.

Being a Middle Eastern man myself, I understand many of the customs when it comes to dining out with friends. One of them, and probably the most common, is the virtually necessary argument between the men on the table over who gets to pay the bill. In America, we call this a “big swinging dick” contest.

Well, two Turkish men were enjoying their soup at a quaint, little restaurant nestled in the heart of Istanbul when the bill finally arrived. Hasan Erdemir and Idris Alakus (who were also accompanied by several other unnamed friends) were talking and eating their meal until Alakus said he had to leave. He tried to pay for everyone’s meal, but was informed that Erdemir had preemptively taken care of it.

This act of kindness somehow threw Alakus into a fit of rage, leading him to storm out of the restaurant. Erdemir and the others thought that the scene had ended, only to learn moments later that things were about to get substantially worse.

After handing his friend a few more bucks to tip the staff, Alakus stormed back into the restaurant with a quick but surefooted pace. Out of nowhere, Alakus pulled his gun from the back of his pants and pointed it directly at Erdemir’s genitals, taking the first shot. As Erdemir hunched over and began falling down, Alakus took another shot at the victim. Based on the footage from the bloody scene, it looked like Alakus hit him near his back left side. After a moment, Erdemir fell to his knees on the floor, then collapsed onto the ground.

Subsequently, Alakus then headed over to the payment counter where Erdemir’s two friends were and shot them as well. Thankfully, their injuries were not fatal and they both survived; unfortunately, the injuries that Erdemir sustained were too criticial, and resulted in him passing away at the hospital.

Alakus managed to temporarily escape for the time being, but was apprehended by authorities a short time later.

The moral of the story here, and it baffles me to even have to say this, is that if somebody offers to pay for your meal, let them pay for the meal. It’s not worth dying over.

Man Is Shot, Killed By Police In A Failed KFC Robbery

An officer-involved shooting at a St. Louis, Mo. Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant ended with the responding officer fatally shooting a robbery suspect.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. Sunday, an eyewitness reported a robbery-in-progress at a KFC.

While the bystander was on the phone with police dispatch, they were able to contact a police officer, in person, who was monitoring a Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. march, across the street from the KFC. The officer who was contacted is identified as a sergeant with 13 years of service as a St. Louis police officer.

In an initial statement after the shooting occurred, Lt. Col. Lawrence O’Toole from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported as the officer approached the KFC window, the suspect identified as 52-year-old Crayton “Big West” West by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, raised a handgun at the officer. As the officer approached the restaurant door, he ordered the suspect to drop the weapon. Once the suspect refused to drop the weapon the officer fired twice, striking him with both shots.

Attorney Brian Millikan, who is representing the officer involved, who has not yet been identified, explained that the officer was in fear of his own life and acted in self-defense. Millikan added that if the officer had not reacted quicker the suspect would have shot him, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch.

“He didn’t have any choice,” Millikan said of the officer.

According to reports, West was pronounced dead at the scene. West’s record showed a repeated criminal history including robbery and sodomy charges. Cash from the robbery attempt and a gun were recovered at the scene. The officer was not injured.

This is just the latest story in a recent string of officer involved fatalities that has gained national attention. One of the most frequent arguments surrounding officer involved shootings is that more law enforcement officers need to be equipped with body cameras.

The St. Louis Police Department has been issued approximately 90 body cameras to staff. However, the officer involved in this shooting was not equipped with a body camera.

Officer O’Toole said there were several other eyewitnesses, along with surveillance camera footage from inside the restaurant that may be used in a pending investigation.

Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce will have to review all video evidence to determine whether it can be released publicly.

This Guy Tries To Distract His Beer Pong Opponent With A Gun, Guess What Happens Next

When playing beer pong, pretty much anything goes when you’re trying to distract your opponent from getting that shot in. However, if you plan on using a gun for that purpose, try not to shoot anyone.

DNAinfo reports that two men were shot at a 4th of July party after one of the players began waving a gun as a distraction tactic.

Mannus Shannon, 27, decided it was a good idea to pull a 9mm semiautomatic out during a game of beer pong. When Shannon’s opponent tried to push him away, the gun misfired and shot him in the finger. Another man was hit in the shoulder.

The victims reportedly drove themselves to the hospital and were treated by doctors. Their conditions stabilized.

Shannon was arrested in his home and was held on $100,000 bail.
