Shoney’s Is Showing Cops Some Love With A Free Meal

Shoney's Logo

Shoney’s is offering a free meal to all members of the law enforcement community.  The American restaurant chain will give any police officer a free meal anytime on Wednesday, July 27.

The idea was developed by Shoney’s CEO and chairman Mr. David Davoudpour, who in a press release said it was a move to thank the law enforcement community as a whole.

“America’s men and women in blue need to hear ‘Thank You’ in a tangible and heartfelt way,” Davoudpour said.

This isn’t the only time that Shoney’s has supported law enforcement. The chain annually holds a run called Shoney’s 5k Family Fun Run at the chain’s headquarters in Nashville. The run, now in its 8th year donates all proceeds to the Nashville Police Fund. All funds are also matched by Davoudpour.

The deal will be offered across all Shoney’s restaurants. Officers are limited to one free meal each, and must either arrive in uniform or provide proper identification. The offer is also only valid for dine-in meals.

Shoney’s Giving Away Free Hot Fudge Cake — Bonus: No Purchase Necessary

Shoneys Hot Fudge Cake

Free, as always, is good. But when it’s a Hot Fudge Cake? That’s pretty freaking great. In honor National Free Hot Fudge Cake Day, Shoney’s restaurant chain is giving away a free Hot Fudge Cake with the purchase of… absolutely nothing. Yes, you heard right.

On Friday Dec. 6, anyone who walks into a Shoney’s will receive a free cake for the third year in a row as a thank you to loyal customers and new guests to the chain. Heck, anyone offering a piece of fudge cake topped with hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry for free is OK by me. Unless they’re creepy strangers, then, no. The offer is available at any participating Shoney’s locations for one day only.

Shoney’s Offers Chicken Pot Pie in a Skillet

Shoney’s restaurant chain is releasing a taste of Southern-style comfort foods in the form of skillet items for their menus. The best thing about skillet items being introduced to restaurants is that they’re pretty much piping hot and waiting to be chowed down.

First up is the Homestyle Braised Beef — braised beef served with mashed potatoes, gravy and veggies. Then there’s the Chicken Pot Pie slow-cooked chicken and veggies in a creamy sauce, while the third dish features the Kentucky Hot Brown — roasted turkey breast topped with tomatoes, bacon and a cheese sauce. All the skillets  come with the salad, soup and fruit bar.

The skillets will be available through November 27.
