Avocados and bacon have become quite the iconic duo in the past few years. The pairing not only checks off a silky and crispy texture but richness paired with saltiness in each bite.

Popular burger chain Shake Shack has utilized both flavors and created a new Avocado and Bacon menu that officially hit stores nationwide.

This new menu features an Avocado Bacon Burger and an Avocado Bacon Chicken Sandwich. The burger will feature freshly sliced avocado, Niman Ranch applewood-smoked bacon, cheese, and ShackSauce. The sandwich boasts a crispy chicken breast served with freshly sliced avocado, Niman Ranch applewood-smoked bacon, lettuce, pickles, and buttermilk herb mayo.

Additionally, customers can now add avocado to any of their orders for an additional $1.35 charge.

Shake Shack’s new items are available now and will stay on the menu through June 30.

Shake Shack’s Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich Headlines New Korean-Inspired Menu

Korean Fried Chicken has been one of the highlights of my adult life. Now imagine combining those incomparable flavors with fast food, and you may just have a game-changer on your hands.

Shake Shack has just launched a limited-edition Korean-inspired menu that features a Korean-style fried Chick’n sandwich

Made with a crispy chicken breast that’s glazed with a spicy-sweet Gochujang sauce, it’s then rested on a bed of Choi’s Kimchi slaw and topped with toasted sesame seeds.

Accompanying menu items include Korean-style Gochujang Chick’n Bites (white meat chicken bites served with Gochujang mayo), Korean-style Gochujang Fries (Crispy Crinkle Cut Fries served with a Gochujang mayo), and a Black Sugar Vanilla shake (toasted black sugar mixed with vanilla frozen custard and topped with whipped cream and black sugar syrup).

The menu concept was inspired by the Shake Shack culinary team’s trip to South Korea, where they were recommended to try a Korean Fried Chicken joint.

As a fan of Korean fried chicken, I can attest to how life-changing that experience can be.

Shake Shack Announces Its First-Ever Drive Thru Location

Shake Shack has long been heralded amongst the top burger chains, often jostling against icons like In-N-Out for the number one spot in the country. Unlike most of its competitors, however, Shake Shack has never had a full drive thru location before.

That’s all going to change in the next couple of years, as the chain has decided to move forward with developing a dedicated drive thru concept. According to Nation’s Restaurant News, this location could have up to three lanes, with one for regular drive thru ordering and the others for mobile pickup orders.

All of this comes as the coronavirus pandemic has hit Shake Shack hard. In the second quarter of this year, comparable sales were down by almost half, according to MarketWatch.

Shake Shack has also been adding curbside pickup to multiple locations, and is looking into cloud kitchens to deliver its food to more locations.

As for the drive thru location, there’s no clear locale that Shake Shack has chosen, but the goal is to have one open sometime in 2021. Once it does open, getting Shackburgers to your face will get a whole lot easier.

Shake Shack Reveals The Secret Recipe Behind Their Cheese Sauce

The secret recipes continue to reveal themselves, this time in the form of Shake Shack’s famous cheese sauce.

Yes, the sauce found on the burger chain’s famous fries, hot dogs, and burgers can now be made in the comfort of your own kitchen — especially since many of us aren’t able to drive out to a Shake Shack any time soon.

Shake Shack’s posted a video on both their Facebook and Twitter accounts with their Culinary Director Mark Rosati showing how their iconic cheese sauce is made.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 Cups American Cheese
  • 2 Cups Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Tbsp Canola Oil
  • 1 Tbsp White Wine Vinegar
  • 6 thin slices of Jalapeños
  • 3/4 Cup Onion
  • 1/2 Tbsp Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Peppercorns
  • 2 Cups Heavy Cream
  • 2 Tbsp White Wine

Check out the video to see exactly how that prolific cheese sauce goes down! Man, seeing the reveal of the flavors are so complex, but the execution looks so simple.

It appears this is the first of a few upcoming Shake Shack tutorials, so stick around as more are sure to drop soon. I wonder if In-N-Out will have any plans to reveal their secret spread recipe? Doubtful. Until next time, stay safe everyone!

First look at the Keroppi Doughnuts that will be sold at the Hello Kitty Cafe in Las Vegas/Photo used with permission from Andy Nguyen

Quotes used in this article we’re transcribed from Andy Nguyen’s recent appearance on the Foodbeast Katchup Podcast.

There have been whispers about a Hello Kitty Cafe opening in Las Vegas, and we have received official confirmation that the rumors are true, and the restaurant will be opening this summer, July 12.

Photo used with permission from Andy Nguyen

While on the Foodbeast Katchup Podcast, restaurateur Andy Nguyen revealed that he was behind the project, and officially announced that the popular Japanese cartoon-inspired cafe would open its doors at MGM’s The Park Vegas, which is littered with several popular restaurants such as Shake Shack, Bruxie Original Fried Chicken, and even Best Friend by Roy Choi.

“I’m bringing Hello Kitty Cafe to the strip,” Nguyen said. “I think Sanrio recognizes who our group is as a people, and they know what we’ve done in the past. They’re going to let us apply that element… like our street element. It’s not going to be the same.”

Nguyen added that the cafe is inside what he described as, sort of a giant pink shipping container – one that has already been spotted by curious tourists.

Giving a sneak peek of what will be in the cafe, Nguyen hinted at pistachio-filled Keroppi donuts, character-inspired croissants, and quality merch — which is a given if you’ve followed Nguyen’s streetwear background.

Shake Shack’s Secret Game Of Thrones Menu Is Launching Nationwide

For the past few days, Shake Shack has been hiding a secret Game of Thrones menu at their Madison Square Park location. Starting on April 12th, that exclusive collab will be made available at locations nationwide.

Unlike the hidden menu at the Madison Square Park location, you don’t have to order in Valyrian if you don’t want to. There is a pronunciation guide available, though, for those who want to channel their inner Game of Thrones geek.

Both items on the collab menu, the fiery Dracarys Burger and minty Dragonglass Shake, will have different availabilities. The Dragonglass Shake, which is a mint chip shake with shiny black toffee shards on top, will be sold at locations nationwide except for those at airports, ballparks, stadiums, and transit centers. You’ll be able to get it through May 19th.

The original @ShakeShack location in Madison Square Park is serving 2 new @GameOfThrones themed menu items until April 21st—but you may only order them while speaking Valyrian! But fear not, Shake Shack has released a guide to help you pronounce the words necessary to procure your fire & ice themed delicacies. (Find the guide in our Story highlight.) • 🔥🍔 The Dracarys Burger is a double Monterey Jack cheeseburger topped with bacon and “fiery Shack Sauce” which contains a blend of Carolina Reaper and chipotle pepper. This burger is actually everything we’d already want from a cheeseburger, plus the fiery sauce which elevated the experience in ways ketchup and mayonnaise cannot. We don’t like jalapeños, but we aren’t afraid of heat either, so this sauce helped deliver that sensation in a tastier way. “Caution: may be too hot for non-Targaryens.” • 🐉 The Dragonglass Shake is made with minted white chocolate custard topped with shards of “Dragonglass” (shiny toffee). When it comes to mint flavored treats; we are not the biggest fans. But from time to time, we do find an exception. This shake is one of them! The mint flavor is not too strong, and the toffee combined with it really blew us away. I want more toffee now. #mnmtwinzEats • #ShakeShack #GameofThrones #ForTheThrone #Targaryen #WhiteWalkers #Cheeseburger #Burger #Bacon #Milkshake #Shake #Toffee #food52 #thekitchn #foodgawker #f52grams #beautifulcuisines #thefeedfeed #foodstyling #eater #thrillist #tastingtable #onthetable #Foodie #FoodNews #IIFYM #FlexibleDieting #Macros #Diet

  • Uptown in Dallas
  • MGM NY-NY in Las Vegas
  • West Hollywood
  • Madison Square Park
  • River North in Chicago
  • Logan Circle in DC, Miami Beach
  • RiNo in Denver
  • Center City in Philly
  • Newbury Street in Boston

All of these locations will have the burger available through April 21st.

Shake Shack Created A Special ‘Game Of Thrones’ Menu For The Show’s Final Season

The Game of Thrones food collabs leading up to the show’s final season have been drool-worthy. From custom-branded OREOs to a chilly can of Mountain Dew, folks are definitely getting creative in how to celebrate the TV saga.

Shake Shack is getting in on the action as well, as their original location in Madison Square Park is serving up two different themed items.

Each new menu item, the Dracarys Burger and Dragonglass Shake are meant to evoke key figures in the final season. The Dracarys Burger, for example, is themed after dragons, with a fiery ShackSauce made with Carolina Reapers and chipotle peppers accentuating the flavors of Monterey Jack cheese and bacon. Meanwhile, the Dragonglass Shake combines the refreshing notes of mint chip with shards of shiny black toffee, which represent the mythical obsidian that can slay White Walkers.

Ordering the Game of Thrones items can be tricky, as you have to speak Valyrian to the cashiers to score them. There’s a pronunciation guide below that you’ll want to keep on handy when doing so.

You can find the Dracarys Burger at the Madison Square Park location through April 21st, while the Dragonglass Shake will stay around until May 19th.

Shake Shack And Dominique Ansel Just Created A Steamed Egg Katsu Sando

Shake Shack may be a nationwide fast food chain at this point, but that isn’t stopping them with collaborating with top chefs to create some exclusive, mouthwatering creations.

Their newest item comes in partnership with innovation wizard Dominique Ansel, known for pastries like the cronut and his signature Blossoming Hot Chocolate. Together, they’ve developed a steamed Egg Katsu Sando that somehow deep-fries perfectly steamed eggs.

How that mixture of crispy exterior and fluffy interior harmonizes together is anyone’s guess, especially since you almost never hear of scrambled eggs taking a trip through a deep fryer. That’s exactly what this item does, though, and its flavor gets a boost from a miso-honey mayo and Ansel’s take on sweet, fluffy milk bread.

Paired with the Egg Katsu Sando is a Morning Maple Latte, which combines La Colombe coffee with steamed maple milk for a sweet, earthy contrast to the egg sandwich.

Ansel and Shake Shack are only selling the two items on March 15th and 16th, and only out of the West Village Shake Shack in New York City. The doors open at 8am daily, but Shake Shack already sold out on their first day. Thus, you’ll want to make sure to go early to secure a sandwich.
