These Candles Smell Exactly Like Your Favorite Disneyland Foods, Churros And Dole Whips Included

DIsneyland-Candles

Ever wanted your house to smell like a Disney theme park? Now it can.

According to Nerdist, there’s a place that makes candles that smell exclusively like Disneyland. Candle retailer spot Anthology Candles  has created a line of Disney-smelling candles to keep you in the Disney spirit.

Some of the notable Disney food scents include Churros and the park’s famous pineapple ice cream Dole Whip and even the entire Main Street Bakery. None-food flavors include one that smells like Disney California Adventure’s attraction “Soarin’ Over California” as well as the “Haunted Mansion” located in New Orleans Square.

Unfortunately Anthology Candles seems to be out of stock thanks to overwhelming demand for their product. You can, however, check in with them from time to time to see when the candles will be available again. It’s looking like they’ll be back around March 1.

This Alarm Clock Will Literally Wake You Up To The Smell Of Bacon And Other Delicious Scents

SensorWake-Cover

Let’s be honest. Unless you’re a morning person, waking up on a weekday is one of the hardest things to do.

The SensorWake aims to ease the transition between sleep and waking up. Created by teenage entrepreneur Guillame Rolland, the clock releases a pleasant odor to help speed the morning process along.

A variety of cartridges, each with a different smell, are designed specifically for the SensorWake. The user simply inserts the desired one into the alarm clock, sets it and goes to bed. In the morning, the clock will release the pleasant aroma designed to wake you up.

Different smells include: Bacon & Orange Juice, Espresso and Chocoalte Croissants, Ginger & Peppermint and Sweet Peach & Strawberry Candy.

Beginning as a Kickstarter campaign with a $54,000 goal, the SensorWake raised more than $130,000 with 20 days left to go.

The SensorWake will cost you about $119, not including the individual scent pods. Each pod will cost $9 and is 100% recyclable. SensorWake starter packs will come with a few free scent pods.

The Real Reason You Can’t Refuse a Cinnabon: Scent Marketing

cinnabon-smell

Have you ever been walking through the mall just minding your own business looking down at your hands wondering how the hell you ended up with a Cinnabon? It’s okay, it happens to the best of us. But in that minor moment of “where the hell did this come from” did you ever wonder why exactly you ended up with that warm, gooey, cinnalicious bun of goodness? Besides the obvious fact that those friggin’ little buns are basically the most delicious thing in the mall (sorry Mrs. Fields!) it’s actually the intoxicating aroma of fresh baked Cinnabons that’s luring you to the food court stand.

Scent marketing is a real thing and it’s being used to increase sales and customer experience. Besides Cinnabon other establishments such as Panera Bread and Starbucks employ the use of specific aromas to enhance customer experience and to promote sales. At Starbucks, obviously the first thing you smell when you walk in is the rich smell of coffee beans where as in Panera you’d most likely smell the warm aroma of fresh baked bread. Using this method can be tricky though as it inhibits companies from expanding to certain menu items due to competing scents. For example, if you’re at Starbucks you obviously don’t want to breathe in a garlic and onion breakfast sandwich, it is a significantly pleasant and more pungent aroma than the chain’s usual coffee scent.

In Cinnabon’s case, the franchises are told to purposely purchase weak hoods so the scents waft to back into the store, the ovens are placed at the front of the store for that just baked smell, Cinnabons are baked every 30 minutes to ensure the air is constantly perfumed with the scent of cinnamon buns, and if that wasn’t sneaky enough, some operators even bake sheets of just brown sugar and cinnamon to get that signature Cinnabon scent. I see you Cinnabon. I see you.

While we all appreciate that mouthwatering aroma, it is pretty interesting to see how far this scent marketing thing will play out.

By fargginay, Bacōn Cologne is a tri-leveled, ‘sophisticated’ aroma available in two varieties Bacōn Classic and Bacōn Gold. Their Bacōn Classic is characterized as a spicy maple aroma while their Bacōn Gold notes a memorable sizzling citrus.
