New Mountain Dew Chicken Wing Sauce Coming To Buffalo Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings sure goes out of their way to create tons of wing flavors. We haven’t been able to keep up with all the crazy new sauce they drown their wings in. Now, it looks like they’re gearing up to introduce another out-of-the-box wing sauce.

It’s made with Mountain Dew.

According to Grubstreet, the R&D team of the chicken wing brand has begun developing a new flavor that’s made with a Zesty Citrus Sauce, lemongrass, ginger, soy sauce, red peppers and a mix of Dew.

So the recipe will definitely be more complicated than just soaking chicken wings in the bright yellow soda. Customers can have their first taste of the new sauce beginning Dec. 14.

Could These New Ketchup Leather Squares Change Burgers Forever?

Plan Check in Los Angeles is known for their insane dishes. One of the cooler innovations from the Plan Check kitchen is their “Ketchup Leather.” Though it looks more like a Fruit Roll-Up than actual leather, the tangible condiment is actually solidified ketchup.

The purpose of the Ketchup Leather, according to Food Steez, is to keep the sweet red sauce from soaking into the burger bun. Upon contact with the meat patty, the perfect square of ketchup rehydrates itself.

If there’s a takeaway from any of this, it’s that we need more Ketchup Leather in our lives. Our burger buns have been unbearably soggy these days.

Chick-fil-A Is Replacing Three Of Your Favorite Dipping Sauces And Adding SRIRACHA

Chick-fil-A Sriracha Sauce

One of our favorite things about Chick-fil-A is that they give customers full access to sauce. While other fast food spots have them behind the counter, and others even charge you for them, the fast-casual chicken sandwich chain just has them sitting out for anyone to grab at their convenience.

Now, they’re throwing in a few more flavors.

GrubGrade reports that Chick-fil-A is testing a new sauce to add to its already massive collection and a few to replace existing ones. Sweet & Spicy Sriracha has been spotted at Chick-fil-A locations in select Southern states already. The new flavor is said to be made with chili peppers to create a spicy, sweet and tangy sauce.

The restaurant also adds three new sauces: Smokehouse BBQ, Garlic & Herb Ranch and Zesty Buffalo sauce. These will replace the existing BBQ, Ranch and Buffalo sauces, respectively.

Don’t expect to find these sauces at every Chick-fil-A anytime soon, however. GrubGrade reports that the sauces will be available nationwide sometime in late 2016.

In the meantime, we’ve still got more than plenty of sauces to build pyramids with while we chow on chicken.

Carl’s Jr. Is Testing Soft Pretzels With BEER CHEESE DIPPING SAUCE

This morning, Elie came into the office with a bag of pretzels from Carl’s Jr. Turns out he drove by one of the few locations that were testing Auntie Anne’s soft pretzel sticks served with a beer cheese sauce.

The pretzels are available in orders of three pieces for $3.29 and five for $4.59. Each order comes with a container of a sweet beer cheese sauce you can dip your pretzels into.

Guess Carl’s is revving up for Oktoberfest.

Last year, the burger chain released a similar product that featured pretzel bites stuffed with cheddar. This time, however, you’re gonna have to get the cheese on pretzels yourselves.

We did get to try them back at the office. They definitely weren’t bad and the cheese sauce was also pretty interesting. Kinda hope this makes a national release.

Domino’s Taiwan Stuffs Their Pizza Crust with Cheese and Peanut Sauce

Just when we thought the world has seen plenty of novelty pizza crusts, Domino’s Taiwan introduces another take on what a stuffed crust should entail. The region-specific entree will feature a pizza crust filled with mozzarella cheese and special Taiwanese peanut sauce. Yep, you can now get peanut sauce in the crust.

While the crusts are something to write home about, the pizzas themselves can be customized to however customers prefer. Don’t expect any special peanut sauces on the pie itself. Though, we think just the crust should be more than plenty.

Not quite sure if peanut sauce and cheese are such a great idea, but if the creative minds behind Domino’s are willing to give it a chance, it can’t be that crazy.

Maybe it’s worth a nibble or two.

This Daring Pizza Has a Rice Krispies Treat Crust

A lot of folks are making Rice Krispies pizzas for the holidays. They find the kids’ favorite candies, whip up a quick Rice Krispies base and spread some sugary sauce to mix them all together.

Following a basic Rice Krispie Treat recipe, Neatorama’s John decided he wanted something a little more on the savory side. What could be more savory than a pizza itself? John created a pizza crust from the treat mix and let it set in the freezer.

Since overcooking was a huge factor, John wanted to make sure the treat wasn’t on the pan for too long. Freezing the crust beforehand seemed to work. The pie was removed from the stove before burning up, complete with melted cheese and pepperoni.

While the Rice Krispies Treat Pizza won’t win any awards for healthiest dish, it’s definitely left an impression.

Gonna take a few hours and try this out now.

Expect a Major Reboot of Pizza Hut Very Soon, Will Include Pretzel Crusts and a New Logo

Thanks to less than ideal sales numbers over the last two years, Pizza Hut has taken a long look at its brand and decided it was time for a change. USA Today reports that Pizza Hut will undergo its biggest rebranding in the chain’s 56 years of business.

Some of the big menu changes include 11 new pizza recipes, 10 new crust flavors, five new toppings (praying for anchovy here), six new sauces and four new flavor pack drizzles. The menu isn’t the only thing going through a change, as the Hut announced it will also be sporting a newly designed logo along with new employee uniforms and a new pizza box.

Pizza Hut will feature five new “premium” topping choices including Peruvian cherry peppers and sliced banana peppers. The flavor pack drizzles are sauces customers can request to be drizzled onto its pizzas including buffalo and balsamic. Pizza Hut will also offer new crust choices like salted pretzel and honey sriracha. Not sure how the later will work, but we’ll find out soon enough.

Expect to see more from Pizza Hut in the weeks to come as its date of rebooting is set for Nov. 19 at 6,300 of its US locations.
