Starbucks Adds A Stunning Watermelon Tea We Need To Try NOW

With all the wacky Starbucks concoctions hitting the US, we can’t help but feel overwhelmed deciding what to order on our next trip to the coffee shop.

On the other side of the world, Starbucks Japan just released an elegant new summer drink. Unlike the recent mythical creature-themed Frappuccino’s we’ve been saturated with, this tea has the advantage of simplicity on its side.

The new Shaken Watermelon and Passion Tea combines watermelon juice with Starbucks’ Teavana Passion Tea. The result is a combination of watermelon, papaya, mango, lemongrass, and hibiscus flower flavors over a mound of ice. Starbucks’ new drink is served with a slice of freeze-dried lime.

That’s it. There are no cupcakes or a mountain of multicolored whipped cream. Simple and refreshing.

Patrons in Japan can find the new drink at participating Starbucks locations now through the end of August. I wonder if there’s a way to recreate this drink here in the US?

This Is The Starbucks ‘Pink Drink’ Everyone’s Going Nuts Over

Starbucks-Pink-Drink-02

Starbucks’ secret menu grows bigger with every new item they introduce. With the recent addition of the chain’s Refreshers and coconut milk, some brilliant barista came up with the Pink Drink.

Made with Starbucks’ Strawberry Acai Refresher with just a bit of caffeine taken from Green Coffee Extract, the Pink Drink is mixed with coconut milk (instead of water) to get a creamy beverage boasting a light shade of pink and chunks of strawberry.

While some say it tastes like a lighter version of strawberry milk, others compare the taste to the popular yogurt-based Asian beverage Calpico.

The secret menu item recently hit a surge of popularity on various social media platforms. Starbucks baristas are already bracing themselves for the onslaught of customers requesting the #PinkDrink. At least ours was.

Works for us. Elie seems to like it.
