Man Gets A Fowl Surprise In His Plate Of Chicken Wings

A fly in your soup sounds pretty good right about now, doesn’t it?

A fast food restaurant in France called Quick recently became famous after serving a man his chicken wings meal, only for the man to discover that he was given much more than he paid for. After inspecting one particularly odd-shaped wing a bit closer, he realized that this was actually the fried head of a chicken.

If you squint really hard, it looks like a nicely cooked ribeye.

The friend of the man who ordered it was actually the one that took the pictures and video, and was the original uploader to LiveLeak. The uploader described the scene, then ended by calling the entire ordeal, “disgusting.”

“At least you know it’s real chicken,” said one wily commenter.

Europe Gives Homer Simpson His Own Donut-Themed Menu

First, Universal Orlando opened a Simpsons Theme Park featuring actual eateries (Krusty Burger, Moe’s Tavern) seen on the animated television series. Now, it seems as if Europe wants to bring the concept overseas.

Fast food chain Quick (think the European Burger King) is launching their own Homer Simpson-themed menu this summer. The lineup will include burgers, donuts and packaging branded with Homer’s lovely visage. Through August 5th, novelty glasses with Homer’s signature catchphrases come free when you purchase a meal off this particular menu.

Although the burger appears to be your same ol’ donut sandwich, it’s actually just a bun shaped to look like a donut and more closely resembles a breakfast bagel sandwich. The actual sweet donuts come in either “maxi” (large) or “mini” sizes. The large donuts are offered in strawberry, chocolate, and caramel flavors, while the mini sizes come in what appears to be plain glazed, marble and chocolate with nuts.

Sticking with their Homer’s pastry obsession, Quick is also rolling out with cheesy donuts made with cheddar dough and filled with cheddar fondue.  The chain encourages guests to share. Pouah!

These ‘Female-Friendly’ Noodles Belong in a Spa, Not Your Mouth

Japan’s Toyo Suisan has been busy developing a healthier, more nutritious version of the comfort food directed at being, “a cup of noodles for women that helps lift spirits.” Oh great, another “female-friendly” food-item to join the throngs of pink yogurt and energy drinks.

These Hanatua or “humming” instant noodles feature a colorful floral design with flavors such as Chamomile Salt Broth and Rosehip Tantanmen (Szechuan style) that sound more like they belong in a spa than in your mouth. Although, it seems that they will have some competition from Myojo Foods who will also be developing their own version of the girly noodles; lending itself to the question, “When will the hair pulling begin?”

Quick Restaurant’s New Star Wars Burgers

Intergalactic Civil War can sure build up an appetite. Quick, a fast food chain from France and Belgium, has created Star Wars themed burgers in honor of the upcoming 3D release of Star Wars Episode I 3D. The Dark Burger, the Jedi Burger, and the Dark Vador Burger. Yeah, they’re calling it Dark Vador.

The burgers will be available from Jan. 31 to March 1 in French and Belgian locations. The burgers themselves raise many questions. What makes the Dark Vador bread so black? What’s the white chunky stuff in the Jedi burger? Cheese? Marshmallows? Our neighbors to the East will be lucky enough to find out starting at the end of the month.

So whether you’re a Dark Sith Lord starving after blowing up a planet or a humble moisture farmer with an appetite from spending the whole day haggling over used droids, if you happen to swing by Europe, be sure to try these burgers out.

Craving: Egg Salad Gribiche

Since I’ve recently been on a health fix, I’ve been searching out fresh, and quick recipes that I can make. Here is another that I came across for an egg salad-torta type of sandwich. Take a French roll and pack it full of egg salad gribiche (mayonnaise-style cold egg sauce), throw some arugula, lettuce, or spinach on there and slather on some dijon mustard and you’re ready to grub! Check the source for the recipe. (Thx Chow)

Le Double Mix: Quick’s Two-Headed Burger Offerings

Looks like a screen shot out of a science fiction movie, but rest assured, this is real. Quick, one of Europe’s largest quick service chains, has just announced their Le double mix line of sandwiches. Available now for a limited time only, these sandwiches literally morph into a different sandwich halfway into them. Available in two varieties, the Double Mix Beef and the Double Mix Chicken, the sandwiches are covering a lot of demographics in one fell swoop. Just when we thought novelty burger ideas ended in 2010, we are now proven wrong.

Quick: XtraLong Burgers Eerily Similar to Carl’s Jr. Footlong Cheeseburger?

Looks like Quick, a Belgian and French chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, is jumping on the train of three-pattied-burgers, akin to the highly publicized Footlong Cheeseburger that went into testing at a few Carl’s Jr. locations a few months back. In this particular iteration, the chain’s line of XtraLong sandwiches come in two variations, the Beef Pepper and the Chicken Barbecue Bacon. The Beef Pepper comes complete with three burger patties, two slices of pepper cheese and a drizzle of pepper sauce. The Chicken Barbecue Bacon variation comes with three patties of fried chicken, two slices of cheese, two slices of crispy bacon and a hit of barbecue sauce!

“Better Than College” Ramen Bowl Recipe

Ramen Noodles, the only thing that remains consistent forever. Through thick and thin, Ramen has always been there by my side to pull me through those hard times. Now it’s time to do Ramen that one ups, and make it into an actual presentable dish. This quick and cheap Ramen Bowl Recipe will no doubt make those “let’s cram the night before the test” days that much better.
