This Chef Puts Mac ‘N Cheese & Pulled Pork Together In An EPIC BBQ Taco

Tacos are one of the eating vessels of choice when you’re in San Diego. Whether it be unique creations or straight outta a truck, tons of places are cramming their food inside of tortillas.

One of the more innovative ones is coming out of the minds of a local food star, who’s put together barbeque, mac and cheese, and tacos for a whirlwind combination of flavors.

This Smokey Pork & Mac Taco comes from the mind of Sam “The Cooking Guy” Zien. A local and nationally recognized TV and online food show host, he has his own place, Not Not Tacos, where he brings his zany culinary creations to life.

For the taco, Zien brings together creamy mac and cheese, pulled pork, sour cream, Sriracha, and green onions for a zesty, creamy, and tangy bite.

If you’re interested in trying this taco out for yourself, it’s being given away on the Hubert’s Lemon A Go Go Truck on Saturday, November 17th, nearby SDSU. It’ll be paired alongside bottles of Hubert’s Watermelon Lemonade.

Take BBQ To The Next Level With This Massive Root Beer Glazed Pulled Pork Hot Pokket

Mess Hall Canteen is like a rolling fortress, serving hungry meat-lovers across Southern California.

Now, Mess Hall is gearing up for one of its most rigorous battles yet – Hansen’s Fresh Coat Mural Fest happening in DTLA’s Arts District on October 7.

Later, Mess Hall will be slinging at OOZEFEST 3, FOODBEAST’s third annual premiere Southern California Cheese Festival on October 14.

However, don’t think for one second that Mess Hall isn’t bringing heavy artillery to these culinary showdowns. If there’s one thing you should know about the purveyors of Giant BBQ Meat Shanks, it’s that they nothing they do is small.

So, in true oozey fashion, Mess Hall has reimagined a Hot Pocket, but in the cheesiest way possible.

Mess Hall’s Hansen’s Natural Soda Root Beer Glaze Hot Pokket is stuffed with Hansen’s root beer glazed pulled pork, aligot potatoes, and pickled cherries all stuffed inside a deep fried dough roll.

To make this dish even more unique, Mess Hall is serving it with a side of Hansen’s root beer glaze to dip in.

So, if you’re ready to battle with Mess Hall, we’ll see you at Hansen’s Fresh Coat Mural Fest, and OOZEFEST 3!

Watch Irish People Try Nachos For The First Time

Nachos can be considered to be the ultimate appetizer. A sharable dish, topped with gooey cheese and any ingredient under our yellow sun, all of which can be eaten simply with your hands.

The folks over at Facts pulled together a motley crew of young Irish men and women to try a gamut of different nacho dishes.

Different styles of nachos include Chorizo and Cheese Nachos, Pulled Pork Nachos, Loaded Chicken Nachos, and Steak Nachos.

Like alcohol, it seems that nachos are a universal lubricant as each dish was pretty well-received by the panel. Check out the video above to see the group’s reactions to each of the meaty nacho flavors placed in front of them.

Damn, this is kind of making us crave Irish Nachos all of a sudden.

Little Caesars’ New Smokehouse Pizza Is Topped With Beef Brisket & Pulled Pork, A BBQ Lover’s DREAM

There’s a soft spot in my even softer belly for Little Caesars. The idea of getting a deep-dish pizza and a bag of Crazy Bread in less than 2 minutes just warms my heart.

Little Caesars has now gone and appealed to the barbecue enthusiast in me. The pizza chain has added a new Smokehouse Pizza that would turn any meat lover’s head. Lil’ C throws pulled pork, beef brisket, Applewood-smoked bacon, and BBQ sauce on top of a Smokehouse seasoned crust.

The pizza is also caked with a gooey layer of mozzarella and Muenster cheeses.

What’s more impressive is the beef brisket and pulled pork are smoked for 8-10 and 10-12 hours, respectively. The Smokehouse will be available beginning Feb. 27 at all participating Little Caesars locations. From 4-8pm, it will also be a Hot-N-Ready option for customers.

An Entire Menu Of ‘Football Fries’ Just Launched At Slater’s 50/50

With football season just beginning, you’re gonna want something to munch on while you’re watching the game. Southern California burger chain Slater’s 50/50, known best for their customizable bacon burgers, introduced an entire line of Football Fries to enjoy the game with.

Here are the five starchy variations you can order from the restaurant chain.

Pizza Fries

Your favorite spuds are covered in a layer of marinara sauce and topped with pepperoni, green pepper, olives, and mozzarella cheese. If you’re that guy that likes to order pizza at a burger joint, this might be a pretty easy choice to curb those cravings until you get your hands on a pie.

Shmanimal Fries

A take on Animal Style Fries, because who doesn’t love those, the ‘Shmanimal’ features American cheese, bacon, grilled onions and a drizzle of bacon thousand island dressing. This might be the one item we’ll have to practice saying a few times before we try to order it.

Beer Cheese Fries

Alcohol aficionados will want to do a pull from these Beer Cheese fries. The deep-fried potatoes are topped with a house-made beer cheese, pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, and a Guinness bacon chili.

Carne Asada Fries

This beast is loaded with carne asada, cheddar, pepper jack, cheese sauce, jalapeño, green chiles, green onions, cilantro, guacamole, and chipotle sour cream. If you’re looking for a mouthful of meat and seasoning, this might be the football fries for you.

Pulled Pork Fries

BBQ lovers will want to dive into the Pulled Pork Fries. The dish is made with cola-braised pork and topped with Slater’s BBQ sauce, pickled jalapeño, pickled red onion, green onion, cheddar, pepper jack, and chipotle sour cream.

McDonald’s Is Testing A Pulled Pork Sandwich

McDonald’s appears to be trying out a new Pulled Pork sandwich, reports Brand Eating. A reader of the food site sent a photo of the promotion taking place in Butler, Indiana.

The new sandwich is made with pulled pork slathered with barbecue sauce, pickles and squeezed between two sesame seed buns. Think the McRib, only pulled and no onions. Sources say the sandwich doesn’t taste too bad, although it could definitely use more meat.

Patrons have the option of choosing 2 sandwiches for $5 or getting a combo of one sandwich, fries and drink for $5. The sandwich, so far, is only available for a limited time.

If successful, could the new menu item replaced the beloved McRib? Guess we’ll have to see.

This Pulled-Pork Waffle Is Literally Made Entirely of Pulled Pork

Some food creations are so beautiful, they don’t need much explanation, but I am contractually obligated to write an entire post about stuff like this.

If the sight of a pulled-pork waffle doesn’t light up your day, you must reevaluate the path you are walking down, because it might be a lonely vegetarian path.

The Vulgar Chef is a perfectly suited name, as he presented his creation on Instagram like so:

“Made myself a pulled pork waffle after I was done pulling my pork in the bathroom.”

This “waffle” is completely made of pulled pork with a scoop of macaroni and cheese in the center, and bacon bits sprinkled over top of it.

I apologize if you were hungry before clicking on this story and now feel a torturous urge to put this waffle inside of you.

Stone Cold, Carlton and the Karate Kid Want You to Eat More Wendy’s Pulled Pork

Wendy’s released a public service announcement to bring attention to a nationwide problem called BBQ Inaccessibility.

They brought in the big guns as Stone Cold Steve Austin; Alfonso Ribeiro, famously known for playing Carlton in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air; and the original Karate Kid, Ralph Macchio, all expressed their concern with BBQ-deprived areas in the US.

In the most serious tone, Ribeiro kicks off the commercial by informing us of the problem. Macchio then damn near cries when sharing his experience living in New York City where he said BBQ is scarce. Stone Cold then opens up a can of whoop-ass on the commercial by supporting the cause with a cheesy #BBQ4merica hashtag.

Of course, Wendy’s is trying to push their new lineup of pulled pork offerings, as that’s how they plan on helping these BBQ-deprived areas.

Unfortunately, they totally missed the opportunity to have Stone Cold do a Stunner on the Karate Kid while Carlton did his world-famous dance.
