Reese’s Is Stuffing Their Peanut Butter Cups With PRETZELS

Earlier in September, news articles began to pop up letting people know that a Reese’s Potato Chip cup was coming soon.

This appears to have been part of a strategic “leak” by Reese’s, who let people know the wrong cup was coming. They are mixing sweet and salty together, but instead of chips, its pretzels.

The new variety adds pieces of crunchy, salty pretzels to the peanut butter, creating sweet with a blend of saltiness and nuttiness added to its flavor.

Reese’s with pretzels inside are joining the permanent lineup of flavors for the iconic snack. They’ll be available in a regular and King size variety starting in November 2020 at retailers nationwide.

After the regular cups launch in November, Reese’s will eventually release a pack of miniature pretzel-stuffed cups in January 2021.

For those bummed out that potato chips weren’t the actual flavor being announced, Reese’s is actually going to make that available too. They won’t be launched, however, until March 2021, and it will be a limited-time offering.

Auntie Anne’s Now Offering A DIY At-Home Pretzel Kit

Auntie Anne's DIY

With the current status of the norm right now, I’m not sure when we’ll all be back in a shopping mall. One of my favorite memories being in one? The magnetic scent of freshly baked Auntie Anne’s pretzels wafting through the air, snatching you from reality, and capturing your attention long enough to fork out the couple bucks it takes to satisfy the sudden, intense onset of craving.

Thankfully, Auntie Anne’s has come up with a workaround to that fantasy scenario by now offering DIY at-home pretzel baking kits on their website. Each kit comes with 10 Auntie Anne’s Original or Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels that you can bake all from the comfort of your home. At $20 a pop, this is a more than satisfactory replacement for the aforementioned scene I described abvove. At least you don’t have to go through the pain of finding parking at the mall.

Take note that these kits are limited, so if you’re keen on reveling in pretzel nirvana at home, make sure to act quickly.

Pop-Tarts Dropping New Pretzel Flavors Nationwide

There might not be a food out there with more variations than Pop-Tarts. From flavors that prompt a sturdy “what the hell?” to ones that make you think “…that might actually work,” the people behind the famous toaster pastry keep the creative wheels moving.

Their newest flavors lean toward an innovative side of the spectrum, as they gear up to take their shot at sweet and salty with Pop-Tarts Pretzel.

The newest additions to the toaster pastry aisle sets themselves apart with a pretzel pastry crust that’s topped with a coarse salt.

In January 2020, they’ll be available in two flavors nationwide: Chocolate and Cinnamon Sugar. The former is topped with a drizzle of chocolate icing while the latter opts for an icing resembling that of a cinnamon roll.

As someone who was always grossed out by the sickly sweet Pop-Tart variations, it’s promising to see the brand pivot into a different flavor profile. I might have to go cop a pack and give it a try in the only acceptable fashion: while watching cartoons on the floor, just like I would after school.

Firehouse Subs Made BEER CHEESE SAUCE For Their New Steak Sub

If you’re hitting up a local pub, chances are there will be beer cheese with some pretzels on the menu. The salty, airy pretzel pairs with the sharp, nutty cheese sauce for a mouthwatering flavor bomb that’s become a staple on bar food menus.

Firehouse Subs is taking inspiration from that classic combination, creating a new sub and side pairing that fuses a steak sub, beer cheese, and pretzels.

The Firehouse Pub Steak sub features a custom beer cheese sauce that the sandwich chain, which was founded by firefighters, developed exclusively for the new creation. Made with White Belgian-style Wheat Ale, American, and Cheddar cheeses, it’s an explosion of sharp and savory flavors that pairs perfectly with steak in a toasted roll.

Firehouse Subs tops the Pub Steak with crispy fried onions, and guests can pair it with Rold Gold Tiny Twists pretzels to give the entire meal that pub vibe.

You can find the Firehouse Pub Steak sub and Rold Gold Tiny Twists at participating Firehouse Subs locations nationwide for a limited time. And to top it all off, a portion of your purchase in 2018 at all U.S. Firehouse Subs locations goes to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and will be used to provide lifesaving equipment to first responders.

You Can Order MASSIVE Loaded Pretzels At This Korean Gastropub

I’m always in search of some great bar food. Whether those come in the form of chicken wings, burgers, or pretzels — I’m game. In fact, I love a good pretzel. While my body rejects cheese like a C-student’s application to an Ivy League, there was a time I would enjoy a soft pretzel dunked in rich beer cheese. Man, do I miss beer cheese. Biergarten, located in the Koreatown are of Los Angeles, CA,  doesn’t just do a simple pretzel. In fact, the Korean fusion gastropub created three massive loaded pretzels to appease any and every kind of craving. Let’s dig into the delicious details:

Best of Wurst Pretzel

The Nuremberg bratwurst, kielbasa sausage, and Spam topped pretzel is essential for meat lovers. Garnished with plenty of sauerkraut and spicy mustard, the bar also adds some sautéed kimchi, perilla leaves, and pickled daikons to marry German and Korean flavors. It’s served with a side of… *sighs*… beer cheese.

Supreme Nacho Pretzel

Nacho lovers will want to revel on this loaded work of art. This supreme pretzel is topped with Spam bits, sliced knackwurst sausage, nacho cheese, Angus chili, pico de gallo, and jalapeños.

Dessert Lover’s Pretzel

Finally for those born with an incurable case of the “sweet tooth,” there’s the Dessert Lover’s Pretzel. Sweet with a hint of salty, the soft pretzel is topped with chocolate syrup, sugar cinnamon powder, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, Heath toffee bits, and pretzel chips. Just be sure to bring a friend before diving into these things. Sure you can knock one out on your own, but these should be enjoyed with some beers and good company.

After 22 Years, Hershey’s Will Release A Brand New Candy Bar Flavor

You probably didn’t realize it before this, but Hershey’s doesn’t release new chocolate bar flavors too often, so when they do, it’s a pretty big deal.

Meet the new Hershey’s Gold Caramelized Creme, the first new flavor since Cookies ‘n Creme in 1995.

Hershey’s Gold will consist of peanuts, pretzels, and a caramelized creme, providing its rich, golden color. That means that not only will it have a buttery, sweet taste, but you’ll also get a bit of saltiness and crunch from the pretzels and peanuts.

With a Dec. 1, nationwide release, Hershey’s Gold will be available in stores in a standard 1.4-ounce bar, and a 2.5-ounce King-Size bar.

This is only Hershey’s fourth flavor, ever, as it got things rolling in 1900 with milk chocolate, introduced dark chocolate in 1939, waited 56 years to mix things up with its Cookies ‘n Creme, and now is trying to entice a younger audience with a shiny Gold flavor.

The combination of salty and sweet should be pleasing, and we know Hershey’s won’t release anything new unless they feel it’ll be absolutely good. I mean, this bar was 22 years in the making, and should be worth the wait.

This Dec 1st, diversify your taste portfolio. Creamy and crunchy; salty and sweet. #TasteTheGold

Carl’s Jr. Combines Pretzels And Breakfast In This Epic New Sandwich

Carls-Jr-Pretzel-Breakfast

Carl’s Jr. once again makes bold strides in the game of breakfast. You may remember a while back, the fast food chain tested muffin tops as buns. Man, that was a morning. Carl’s is now shaking up the bun concept with a new, pretzel-based, breakfast sandwich.

The Pretzel Breakfast Sandwich features egg, sausage, American cheese and Swiss cheese on an Auntie Anne’s soft pretzel bun.

Carl’s just launched a commercial promoting the breakfast sandwich, giving viewers a fun look at the culture of street food vendors. The video, created with the help of ad agency 72andSunny, captures the essence of New York pretty closely.

You can now find the new Pretzel Breakfast Sandwich at any participating Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s locations. The sandwich is available for $2.99 by itself and $4.69 for a combo that includes hash browns and a drink.

Now if they only offered a nacho cheese dipping sauce for that bun.
