This Travel Mug Will Grind, Brew and Hold Your Coffee For You

Coffee-Grinder-Multi

It’s hard to get a decent cup of coffee when you’re roughing it. Between lugging around all the appliances, coffee beans and filters, it’s kind of a hassle. Probably why most folks decide to stick with instant coffee when camping. Cafflano has developed a coffee mug that not only stores your coffee, but will also grind the beans and brew it as well.

The design for the cup allows for its multiple parts to stack together. This includes the grinder, drip kettle, filter and cup. All one would need are some fresh coffee beans and hot water.

Cafflano-Specs

Last year, the Cafflano tried its hand at crowd-funding. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite make the cut. This year, the company tried their luck again and met their goal. Customers can get a model at The Fowndry for £64.99 ($96.90 US).

A little pricey, sure, but it should pay for itself over time.

Portable Cup Makes a 30-Second Espresso in the Microwave

piamo

Don’t have ten minutes to commit to a slow pour-over, French press, or even the classic coffee maker? Does the thought of drinking coffee in 31 different ways give you an absolute headache? For those especially impatient coffee drinkers, here’s a portable espresso maker that brews your beverage in 30 seconds.

The Piamo features a tiny espresso cup that includes a filter and water chamber. You fill the chamber with water, insert ground coffee into the filter, stack them together, flip, and attach the cup. Pop in the microwave for 30 seconds and you’ve got a shot of espresso.

It’s a pretty cool concept, especially since the entire thing is completely portable.  However, like the Keurig, you probably have to sacrifice taste and quality for speed. The video for the Piamo is adorable though, cute chalkboard cartoons ahead:

KFC Releases Unique Take-Out Containers Made to Fit Your Car’s Cup Holder

KFC-Go-Cups

KFC is catering to our never-ending quest for convenience and has “officially upgraded snacking” with their new KFC Go Cups. The method behind this Go-Cup madness? Apparently, according to this infographic via KFC, the chain thinks America’s cup holders aren’t reaching their full potential.

KFC-go-cup-info

Yes, the struggle is real. Looking to solve this national crisis, KFC created the Go Cup — plastic take-out containers featuring a cup designed to fit snugly in most cup holders, allowing for easy in-car, on-the-go grubbing.

Guests will be able to customize their Go Cups with seasoned potato wedges alongside one of the five options: a piece of Original Recipe Boneless chicken, a Chicken Little sandwich, two Extra Crispy Tenders, three Hot Wings or four Original Recipe Bites. A divider found inside the Go Cup keeps the chicken separate from the wedges and the entire shebang will set you back $2.49.

The Portable Deep Frying Tabletop Grill, Because This is America

Have you ever sat down at a picnic with four servings of fries and eight hamburger patties and just wished you had some way to deep fry and grill those sonsabitches at the same time, with the exact same appliance? Yeah, me too.

Luckily, this Deep Frying Portable Grill made by Hammacher Schlemmer (ermahgerd) just might be the answer to our prayers. Joining the ranks of such self-effacing products as the Best Electric Wine Opener, the Best Commuter Cup and the Best Vacuum Food Sealer, the DFPG folds down to only 10 inches wide and boats the ability to hold “up to 16 oz. of cooking oil” and “up to four servings of chicken wings or French fries” in its center reservoir.

It also promises that its 452 sq. inch grilling surface “accommodates up to eight hamburgers,” and “includes a grate for high-temperature searing, a griddle ideal for cooking bacon or vegetables, and a warming plate that toasts buns.”

Battery powered and equipped with a push-to-start button, the DFPG is so easy a child could and probably will use it, which makes it super-comforting that it can generate temperatures in excess of 600 degrees Fahrenheit and “produce restaurant-worthy charring.”

At least DFPG also comes with a bag “for ease of portability.” Because if you or your child are accidentally going to turn into Two-Face while making deep fried cereal, you’ll probably want something to cover your burns with.

The Deep Frying Portable Grill can be found online for around $209.
