These days, there’s so many different ways to eat noodles. One of the cooler ways came from a video Digg unearthed.
Posted by Reddit user sean_ong, the video shows a restaurant, Nagashi-Somen, where somen noodles are shot through a bamboo pipe filled with cold water. Patrons stand by to grab their noodles with chopsticks as they’re carried through the tunnels.
Kinda gross, but also kind of awesome.
Check out the video. The noodle action starts around the 1:25 mark.
Ben and Jerry, the founders of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream were arrested for protesting at the US Capitol earlier this week. KFC posted a pretty NSFW ad on their Twitter and some folks got pretty steamed.
A popular brand of alcoholic root beer decides it’s gonna get even more alcoholic. Awesome. Remember that cooler Kickstarter campaign that was supposed to be the greatest tailgate accessory ever? Turns out it kinda sucks. A pizza box from Cybertron transforms into a pipe and someone created weed ramen. Because 4/20 was a couple days ago.
This was our week in food news, which you can find out more about in episode 17 of the Katchup.
Let’s also take a moment to remember Doris Roberts, Prince and Chyna. Rest in peace, guys.
OK, on to the KATCHUP!

KFC’s Naughty Tweet
We’ve all heard the term “sex sells” but Kentucky Fried Chicken brought that statement to an uncomfortable visual reality in a tweet early Friday morning. And the Internet got pissed! Read more.
Alcoholic Root Beer Gets Boozier
Beer isn’t for everyone. In fact, you might be surprised at how many people there are out there that flat out don’t like the taste, despite its crisp drinkability and very wide variety of refreshing flavors.
In July 2014, we wrote about the Coolest Cooler, a state-of-the-art cooler that would become the second most funded thing on Kickstarter, generating more than $13 million in one month. Nearly two years later, the company is asking backers to fork up another $97 in order to get their coolers “expedited,” and people think that’s pretty uncool. Read more.
Stoner Pipe In Pizza Box

Push for Pizza is a mobile app built on the, “push button, get a pizza,” philosophy developed by its creators. While push button pizza is enough to capture the attention of any normal person, the developers at Push for Pizza — who apparently have major consideration for stoners — designed a pizza box that can be made into a reusable pipe.
In collaboration with Nikolas Gregory Design Studio, the Push for Pizza “pipe box” has yet to be mass produced. The developers, however, seem to share high exceptions for approval.
Based on a simplistic design, the pipe can be made by removing a foldable portion of the pizza box’s lid, which is perforated. The bowl is made from the “pizza saver” and is made from “temperature resistant white ceramic.”
The pipe’s creators have yet to announce whether or not this pipe-laced pizza box will be available on or before April 20, 2016, if Push For Pizza does debut this stoner-centric invention, we’re sure there will be plenty of satisfied customers.
It’s been a crazy week in the world of food news. If you’ve been swamped with work or personal problems and haven’t had a chance to keep updated on what’s delicious, what’s dirty, and what’s trending right now, the Foodbeast Weekly Katchup might just be your new best friend.
We’ve definitely got some pretty tasty, weird and terrifying headlines this week.
Check out our Katchup in the video above. We’re still cringing from that snake story.
An Australian woman woke up one morning to discovered there was a giant brown snake under her refrigerator. Even worse, it had laid 14 EGGS. So it looks like we’re going to be cautiously afraid of refrigerators for the rest of our lives.
3. Starbucks Barista Stealing A CC
A video recently went viral showing a woman driving up to a Starbucks drive-thru window explaining that she had her credit card information stolen and that a barista at a Starbucks she visited was behind the theft.
The video shows the angry mother confronting the 19-year-old girl over the theft.
4. IHOP Journey AYCE Pancakes
When one of our writers, Sean Fahmy, said he could demolish his fair share of pancakes, we told him to put his money where his mouth was. Boy, did he.
Sean hit up the local IHOP and attempted to break the restaurant’s all-you-can-eat pancake record. What happened next was a morning filled with four different kinds of syrup, sticky laptops, and a massive sugar coma.
5. Glowing Meat From China
A man in China bought himself 92 pounds of pork. After seasoning it and leaving it overnight in a bucket, he came back and found that the meat started to GLOW BLUE.
What crazy thing could cause every-day pork to turn such a luminous color?
Here’s a life lesson: Don’t hide drug paraphernalia in your fast food, folks. It’s like hiding it in a six pack of beer in a frat house fridge, aka WORST HIDING SPOT EVAR.
Unfortunately, this particular Burger King employee didn’t get the memo.
After taking enjoying a day at Splash Universe water park, a Michigan customer found a packed marijuana pipe in his 4-year-old grandson’s Burger King Kids Meal purchased at a location in Dundee, Michigan. Needless to say, grandpa was not amused and notified the police.
Determined to find the culprit behind the matter, the customer scribbled down the license plate of a car full of “suspicious” kids he spotted outside the restaurant he saw a Burger King employee running to. As an officer was interviewing the employee, he noticed the suspect’s cell phone laying nearby. The two friends in the car outside called the cell hoping to warn the suspect of the police and unknowingly informed the officer that, “We’re across the street.”
When the officer went into the parking lot, the two ditched their car and ran into the woods. After the officer called them on their cell phone and threatened to arrest the two and tow their car, they emerged from the woods. Hashish and other drug paraphernalia were discovered inside the car; the Burger King employee admitted to police that the pipe was his and that he brought the pot to work that night.
All three involved, ages 18 to 20, were cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Of course, in a statement emailed to Huffpo, a Burger King spokesperson would like everyone to know that customer safety is a “top priority” and that “[this] Burger King restaurant is owned and operated by a franchisee who enforces a zero-tolerance drug policy.”
Face it, TMNT was a cartoon about giant, crime-fighting, pizza-eating reptiles. If you honestly believe it wasn’t about drugs, I highly suggest you watch it again (preferably while on drugs and eating pizza).
Designed by glassblower Brendan Taylor, this line of TMNT-inspired pipes would be a good place to start. With an impressive level of detail, from the melted cheese to the diamond-studded pizza backs, the line currently features nearly everyone’s two favorite turtles (Michelangelo and Leonardo, duh), angry-eyed and ready to blaze.
I for one was a Donatello girl, but hey, there are plenty of reasons not to listen to me – starting with the fact that I can classify myself as a ‘Donatello girl.’
Finally, watch TMNT the way it was meant to be watched. Cowabunga.
