Blaze Pizza Cancels Annual Pi-Day Deal Due To Coronavirus

It has become tradition at Blaze Pizza to sell its personal-sized pizzas for $3.14 every March 14.

The day itself is known nationally as “Pi-Day” and Blaze takes advantage by selling its pies for cheap.

However, with recent fears over the spread of the coronavirus, and recommendations to stay away from large crowds, Blaze has decided not to go forward with its usual in-store “Pi-Day” deal.

It is not unusual for huge lines to form for this day, as a $3 pizza is pretty solid compared to its usual $8-$10.

Fans will still get a chance to celebrate, though, as those who use the Blaze Pizza app will automatically have $3.14 added to their account, starting March 16. In order to get the reward, you will have to have the app downloaded and the account created by 11:59 p.m., Sunday March 15.

Is it the same as getting a whole pie for that price? No, but it is something.

Hopefully by this time next year, things will go back to normal, and we can all enjoy our usual Pi-Day discount.

A Guide To The 2019 Pi Day Deals You’ll Want A Slice Of

March 14th, aka Pi Day, has evolved into one of the tastiest days of the year. Sure, the date itself plays a part into it, but it’s more so the fact that food brands are willing to get their geek on to help save us a few bucks.

Nowadays, celebrators of the math holiday will find several deals to make it easier to get their grub on. Whether it be free slices of pie or whole pizzas on offer, the Pi Day deals happening in 2019 are showing just how much folks are buying into the concept.

Here’s a look at some of the dopest Pi Day offers chains and restaurants are dropping this year.

Blaze Pizza

The build-your-own pizza chain is going to offer up whole pies for just $3.14 apiece, which translates to over a 50% discount on virtually any pizza on the menu. You do have to be using the Blaze Pizza app to redeem the deal, but you’ve got until March 14th to get it downloaded and score the coupon.

Marie Callendar’s

Any slice of Marie Callendar’s 20-plus pie varieties will be given out for free on Pi Day. To redeem, simply download a coupon off of their website and redeem it at the restaurant.

Boston Market

Boston Market is offering up a buy one, get one free (BOGO) deal on their Chicken Pot Pies. It does require a coupon off of Boston Market’s website to redeem, but you can show it on your phone as well.

Domino’s

Domino’s has a coupon in partnership with RetailMeNot that gets you a BOGO pizza deal through March 18th. This link accesses the coupon and applies it to your Domino’s order before you even start, but it does require a unique code at checkout that’ll be copied to your clipboard.

Christina Tosi’s beloved dessert shop chain will be giving out slices of Crack Pie a la Mode for a discounted $10 on Pi Day. The only exception to this is the Vegas location, where the cost will be $12.

7-Eleven

7-Eleven is capitalizing on Pi Day to promote their 7Now app, which can be used to get up to 2 whole pizzas for $3.14 each via delivery. There’s also 50-cent slices available in stores, requiring the app to get the necessary coupon to redeem.

Bojangles

On Pi Day, you can go to any Bojangles location and nab a trio of their Sweet Potato Hand Pies for $3.14 in total. They’re also giving out $10 gift cards for answering trivia questions on Twitter, like the one above.

BJ’s

On Pi Day, you can score a Mini Deep Dish pizza, made with a single topping of your choice, for $3.14 at BJ’s locations nationwide. You can only utilize this deal when dining in.

UberEats

This UberEats deal can be applied to basically any restaurant serving pizza, as those restaurants will get a $3.14 delivery fee reduction with the code PIDAY19. The promo is good through March 17th, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see other delivery apps popping up with last-minute discount codes as well.

This Baker Creates Stunning Custom Pies Like You’ve Never Seen Before

If you close your eyes and take a bite of a warm pie, a nostalgic feeling can reverberate through your body.  Well, this baker can give you that same nostalgic feeling, but through the visual appeal alone of her stunning custom pies.

A post shared by Pies Are Awesome (@thepieous) on

Jessica Leigh Clark-Bojin is elevating the art of pie baking, and taking it to levels you’d normally see with cakes or other desserts.

With every new post on her Instagram account, you’re sure to be wide-eyed and shocked by the detail and creativity that goes into each pie.

A post shared by Pies Are Awesome (@thepieous) on

Pies are known as for having flaky, doughy flat tops, but clark-Bojin does not limit herself to those specifications. Not only does she draw pop culture characters on the pie surfaces, she also brings the baked goods to life with 3D, in-your-face, sculpture-like pies.

A post shared by Pies Are Awesome (@thepieous) on

She doesn’t keep her pie-sculpting secrets to herself either, as she puts together tutorials on how to try to make these pietraits on your own, and even wrote a book on the art of pie modeling.

Not sure if I have the steady hand, or patience to make beautiful pie art, but if you think you have it in you, definitely give it a shot.

Here’s A Guide To Some of 2017’s Tastiest Pi Day Deals

March 14th is here, which means it’s time for a bunch of pizza and pie-selling companies to offer up deals that celebrate Pi Day.

For those of you unfamiliar, Pi Day celebrates the date 3/14, which is the first three digits of the mathematical term “Pi.” Companies have been hopping on this day over recent years to feature special sales and discounts relating to pi, and this year is no exception,

We’ve taken a look at some of the tastiest deals that you can only get exclusively on Pi Day this year, all of which you don’t wanna miss.

Blaze Pizza

Blaze Pizza will be offering up any pizza with any toppings that you want for $3.14, with the only catch being that you have to go into one of their restaurants to get your hands on this cheap pie. They’ll also be giving away free pizza as part of their Facebook Live and Snapchat behind-the-scenes coverage on Pi Day, and will even have a special Snapchat filter to celebrate the occasion.

Marie Callender’s

The popular pie and restaurant chain has teamed up with 10 Below Ice Cream to develop an ice cream roll product called #OhMyPie. It’s got Marie Callender’s chocolate chip cookie dough pie as part of the rolled ice cream, and is topped with a variety of treats like teddy bear-shaped cookies. It’s only going to be available on Pi Day, and the first 314 customers get it for free.

There’s also a special Pi Day deal available to anyone who joins the Marie Callender’s E-Club by Pi Day, although the chain hasn’t revealed exactly what it is.

Whole Foods

Whole Foods is jumping into Pi Days with a special discount on their pies and pizzas. You’ll get a $3.14 discount on any large pie from the bakery or any large take and bake pizza. It doesn’t count for pizzas baked in-house, sadly.

Dickey’s Barbeque Pit

The popular barbecue restaurant is giving a free slice of its pecan pie for any purchase of $10 or more. The offer can be redeemed online by entering the code “PIDAY” upon purchase.

Pieology

If you signup for Pieology’s e-club, you’ll be able to get a special offer in your inbox for a $3.14 custom-built pizza. Between this and Blaze’s deal, you’ll be set for the day with pizza for a cool $6.28 if you use these two deals.

Boston Market

If you purchase a meal and drink on Pi Day, Boston Market will throw in a free Chicken Pot Pie to commemorate 3/14. All you have to do is print out this coupon and present it to get your pot pie.

Villa Italian Kitchen

Actually, you’ll be able to get 3 pizza pies for $3.14 each in one day if you have a Villa’s Italian Kitchen nearby. The chain is offering $3.14 for one full-size Neapolitan Cheese Pizza to each guest nationwide for Pi Day. All you have to do is download an online coupon from the website and present it at the time of purchase.

Bojangles

A post shared by Bojangles’ (@bojangles_1977) on

Bojangles is offering up three of its Sweet Potato Pies for a total of $3.14. These aren’t full-on dessert pies, but are rectangular-shaped “hand pies” that make for a tasty on-the-go snack inspired by Pi Day.

Hungry Howie’s

By ordering online, Hungry Howie’s guests can get a medium 1-topping pizza with the purchase of any “Howie Bread” for carryout at any of the chain’s 550 locations nationwide (except for those in Florida).

Grab all of these deals at once if you want, or just one or two. Either way, you’re guaranteed a mathematical discount and a load of cheap pizza or pie with any of these Pi Day deals.

Getting Dessert Wasted With Pie Shots At This ‘Bar’ Are Our Idea Of A Good Time

Alright nerds! Its 3.14, and that means National Pi Day is here once again! Since it seems that we missed the actual ‘National Pie Day’ (which was on January 23rd), today will have to do!

If you’re anything like us, and getting pie wasted sounds like a fantastic way to spend an evening, then The Pie Bar, located in the heart of downtown Long Beach, CA, might be your next favorite dessert dive. It’s always a good idea to make friends with the ‘bartender’ and get a shot of your favorite pie flavors. They also offer flights, if your craving won’t be satisfied with just one kind of pie.

A post shared by Jacob Walker (@worldwide843) on

All handmade and baked fresh daily, The Pie Bar has pies in all sizes. Every month, they cycle through different flavors like Irish Cream Pie, Chocolate Stout Pie, Apple Pie, American… Pie (kidding). But in all seriousness, these pie shots are a great substitution for for those who are in a non-committal relationship with their dessert. Because that’s us.

New Domino’s Deal Will Get You 50% Off Any Pizza Orders

Pizza hut has recently come out with two deals, one created to celebrate Pi Day (March 14th, or “3.14”) and the other to help keep your pants clean while you watch some good ol’ fashioned NCAA March Madness basketball. Predictably, Domino’s wanted to make sure they don’t get left in the dust by revealing their own discounted deal.

Screen Shot 2016-03-15 at 12.03.26 PM

Starting yesterday and extending until March 20th, Domino’s Pizza will be offering 50% off to any online orders. Unfortunately, this deal only extends to the pizza (which might actually be the worst thing at Domino’s). Still, bringing the final price of an order (including tax and tip) for a large three-topping pizza from $22 down to $11 is no joke.

Screen Shot 2016-03-15 at 12.03.39 PMThis offer comes just in time to touch on both Pi Day and March Madness, by launching on Pi Day and ending on the first, and most watched, day of the tournament. Brand Eating put together a helpful list of commonly ordered pizzas as a frame of reference for about how much you would be paying:

– Large Cheese Pizza – $6.49
– Large 1-Topping Pizza – $6.49
– Large 2-Topping Pizza – $7.25
– Large 3-Topping Pizza – $7.99
– Large Specialty Pizza (American Legends and Feast Pizzas) – $8.50
– Medium, 1-Topping Handmade Pan Pizza – $5.49
– Medium, 2-Topping Handmade Pan Pizza – $6.12

Pizza Hut Will Give You 3.14 Years Of Free Pizza If You Can Solve These Riddles

Pi day, a day made up by the advertising and marketing pioneers of the world, is basically a day dedicated to thinking up ways to commercialize absolutely nothing. This challenge clearly was a walk in the park for Pizza Hut.

Screen Shot 2016-03-14 at 11.33.15 AM

Today and today only (March 14th, also known as “3.14”) Pizza Hut will be giving away $1,600 worth of Pizza Hut gift cards, or 3.14 years worth of free pizza, to every nerd and nerdette out there that has what it takes to solve a few math problems, all created and introduced by famed and prized mathematician John H. Conway. The questions and rules can be found here.

Don’t be lulled into a false sense of assurance, however, because I’ve seen one of the questions, and it may as well have been in a different language. Still, only crazy people would say no to an opportunity to win free pizza.
