Brace Yourself For Mess Hall Canteen’s ‘SPAM Bomb’

FOODBEAST’s upcoming meat festival, Meat Street Presented by the Makers of SPAM Brand at Main Place Mall, is about to turn the wildest dreams of SPAM lovers and meat aficionados into a never-before-seen experience that will showcase unique, MEAT STREET exclusive recipes you won’t find at your local county fair. (Get your tickets here!)

One of the vendors at the festival is Mess Hall Canteen, who has become a model innovator in the mobile food industry, creating share-worthy gourmet dishes that push the limitations of what can be accomplished in a food truck. And they’re bringing plenty of that artillery to MEAT STREET.

Brace yourselves, Mess Hall Canteen is about to set off the SPAM BOMB: a crispy, and cheesy take on Spam musubi. Imagine melty mozzarella and pepper jack cheese, with sliced HICKORY SMOKE SPAM wrapped in a tempura battered nori, and deep fried until golden brown.

Get your cameras ready, because the SPAM BOMB is about to blow up on social media.

Earlier this month, the world was introduced to Mess Hall’s other MEAT STREET item — The Beef Shank, a deep-fried sous vide beef shank, smothered in chipotle barbecue sauce. But, you know that’s wasn’t all the ammo they were packing.

As MEAT STREET gets closer, stay tuned in and you’ll get a chance to preview all the juicy exclusive items that will be available for those in attendance at MainPlace Mall in Santa Ana, Calif., April 22.

Earlier, the world got its first look at Doner Saltado, a MEAT STREET specific recipe created by So Cal-based Doner G Turkish & Mediterranean Grill.

Del Taco’s New Green Chile and Pepper Jack Items Are Super ‘Jacked Up’

Don’t get us wrong, we don’t mean the normal meaning of “jacked up” (not working properly or as intended; or having used a large quantity of speed, cocaine, or other amphetamine). And those aren’t even our words, they’re Del Taco’s. Still, “Jacked Up” is what the new menu Buck & Items at Del Taco are. As might your butt-hole be should you try them both at once.

The Jacked Up Grilled Chicken Taco features marinated grilled chicken covered with roasted green chile sauce, pepper jack cheese, and lettuce in a soft flour tortilla, while the Jacked Up CrunchTada Tostada offers the same treatment, but over a bed of slow cooked beans on a thick corn shell.

Each is $1 a la carte and available for a limited time.

Taco Bell: New Salsa Roja Tortada

Even though I’m already a one inch person living in the new Bacon Ranch Tortada, if I was ever planning on moving it would be into Taco Bell’s new Salsa Roja Tortada. A warm flour tortilla loaded with fire-grilled marinated all-white meat chicken, crisp shredded lettuce, fiesta salsa, flavorful salsa roja, and a blend of three cheeses; cheddar, pepper jack, and mozzarella, all grilled together hot and toasty.

Craving: The Dagwood Sandwich

A sandwich piled high with pastrami, roast beef, peppered turkey, honey ham, bologna, cotto salami, provolone, American Cheese, cheese whiz, swiss, pepper jack, muenster, cheddar alfalfa sprouts, tarragon, pickles, red cabbage, horseradish with beets, mayo, mustard, sun dried tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, baby lettuce, shredded carrots, purple onion, bacon bits, on an onion roll, white bread, dark german wheat bread and…*let-me-catch-my-breath*…potato bread.
