Oreo Now Sells Peanut Butter Ice Cream Sandwiches, But Only In The UK

Oreo drops new flavors as often as Russell Westbrook drops triple-doubles, so here we go again, with an intriguing concept from the cookie company, this time involving ice cream.

Behold the Peanut Butter Oreo Ice Cream sandwich.

Of all popular cookies, Oreo has always been the best equipped to transition into an ice cream sandwich, as the Klondike versions have proven. Add peanut butter to the mix, and you’ve got a match made in ice cream heaven.

The new ice cream sandwich is simply described as peanut butter ice cream with Oreo biscuit pieces, and is being sold at U.K. supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s and Iceland Foods.

It’s a bummer that these aren’t available in the U.S., but like Cal Naughton said in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, “It’s just exciting that we’re trying things like that.”

People have been happily posting about them and apparently have no negative things to say about them.

Oreo peanut butter ice cream sandwich was bloody yum!! 6 syns each & so worth it!

Needless to say, these need to make their way to the U.S. Depriving American foodies of Peanut Butter Oreo sandwiches is like depriving The Migos from wearing Versace. It’s just not right, and should never happen.

Oreo Snack Hack: The Mini Dipper

oreo-snack-hack-mini-dipper

Oreo just posted an ingenius way to dunk Mini Oreos on their Facebook page. Dubbed “The Mini Dipper” the hack involves a french press, milk and some mini oreos. As their vine video illustrates simply fill your coffee press about halfway or more with milk, fill the press’ plunger with Mini Oreos and dunk those bad boys. Pull up the plunger and you have yourself some nicely soaked cookies without the mess! You could probably do the same thing with regular Oreos but don’t be surprised if your cookie gets stuck.

Oreo Rice is Exactly What it Sounds Like

The staff over at RocketNews 24 decided to celebrate Oreo’s 100th birthday last year by creating the perfect Japanese-American mashup, Oreo Rice. The concept is brilliant, using the rice cooker to steam the rice in milk instead of water to create a creamier grain. In order to properly infuse that classic cookie taste into the Japanese staple RocketNews 24 covered the milk and rice in a pack of Oreo cookies.

After adding all the sweet ingredients all that’s left is to flip the cook switch. Waiting is literally the hardest part of this whole process but after about 20 minutes the triumphant ding means your dessert is complete!

At this stage, the rice doesn’t look like a complete success but after mixing the softened Oreos with the creamy rice you’ll have rice that looks more like asphalt than dessert but RocketNews 24 ensures pure deliciousness.

Even though the final result looks more like black mush there’s actually some texture in there between the softened rice and crunchy cookie bits. The taste is described as tiramisu in risotto form which sounds like something we’re definitely about. Although the concept was originally meant to be a fusion between an American classic and a Japanese staple it reminds me more of a Filipino dessert known as Champorado. Either way, this sounds amazing and I’ll be trying it pronto.

Check out the step-by-step process and recipe over at RocketNews 24.

Chocolate Cheesecake with Caramel Ganache

All I hear on the radio these days are famous rappers singing about money, cars and women. If I was a platinum rapper, only thing I would be rapping about is food! My double-platinum hit single would be undoubtedly about this Chocolate Cheesecake with Caramel Ganache!

Who wouldn’t want to hear a song about cake? This is simple: a cheesecake that has been married with Double Stuffed Oreo Cookies, milk chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips, dulce de leche and lined with toasted pecans! (Thx MissInTheKitchen Recipe @ Doughmesstic.net)
