Everyone loves Halle Berry… probably more than Raymond. She has it all: talent (an Oscar winner), brains, and have you seen her? So, what more could anyone want? How about a good drinking buddy? Well, Berry proved she could even do that last weekend at San Diego Comic-Con.
Berry was a part of the “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” panel, alongside Channing Tatum and Colin Firth, when a pint of Old Forester Statesman Bourbon was placed in front of her. Apparently, it sat there for a minute until during the Q&A, when someone asked her what the better franchise was — James Bond or Kingsman. Instead of answering, she did this:
Impressive huh? But why Statesman, you might ask? Well, the bourbon was created specifically for the sequel to 2014’s “Kingsman: The Secret Service” as it serves as a front for the US counterpart of the British spy group.
According to reports, the barrels used to make bourbon come from the “warmest places in the warehouse.” There, the barrels can reach temperatures of 120 degrees, causing a lot more evaporation and a lot more flavor to be drawn from the wood, which consequently expands during the aging process.
Statesman is a rye mash blend with 18 percent rye, 72 percent corn, and 10 percent malted barley. On sale next month, ahead of the film’s release, the Berry-approved spirit will retail for $55.
