These Cocktail-Inspired Gummy Bears Are The Perfect Gift For The Holidays

We all know there’s no shortage of candy during the holiday season. This year, as the store shelves become packed with candy canes and popcorn tins, find something sweet to take you away from the repetitive holiday season routine.

While there will always be room for tradition, Project 7 has created some must-have holiday treats that are perfect for gifting — or just keeping to yourself.

Project 7 has introduced a brand new line of non-alcoholic, cocktail-inspired gummy bears featuring flavors like Old Fashioned, champagne and Moscow Mule. But just because these one-of-a-kind gummies are non-alcoholic, doesn’t mean they won’t get a party started.

Just think, these craft cocktail inspired gummies will surely be a hit at the company work party, or as a gift for the boss that’s the total opposite of NSFW.

It gets even better – these gummies are made with organic sweeteners, they’re non-GMO, and contain no artificial flavors colors OR preservatives.

So, if you’re still trying to pick out the perfect gift, or just need some legit stocking stuffers for the family, get your Project 7 gourmet gummy bear fix at any Target store.

Don’t wait, though – these treats are only available during the holiday season, so when they’re gone, they’re gone! You can find them in the holiday section at your local Target, or on

Here’s Some Rums To Try On National Rum Day That You Might Not Have Heard Of Before

Happy National Rum Day! Yes, its a thing. So whether you love mojitos, Cuba Libres or TK, this is your day. And given that rum is the third most popular spirit in the U.S., behind whiskey and vodka, there are quite a few of you out there. We here at Foodbeast are all about a good rum cocktail. And while there are many rums out there, here are a few that you may NOT be aware of but should.

Atlantico Gran Reserva Rum

First up is Atlantico Gran Reserva Rum, a beautiful blend of Dominican rums that is aged up to 25 years, which is perfect for drinking neat.

Don Papa Rum

Next up is Don Papa Rum, a premium aged rum from the Philippines. This is their Mai Tai: ½ oz. Don Papa Rum, ½ oz. fresh lime juice, ½ oz. orgeat syrup, and 1 oz. mango nectar. Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with 2 cups of crushed ice. Shake well. Pour everything (do not strain) into glass. Garnish with a lime shell sunk into the ice and a sprig of fresh mint.

Silk City Distillers

Rums are also being made stateside, like New Jersey’s Silk City Distillers small batch,  both dark and white rums. This is their take on the classic daiquiri: 1.5 oz Silk City Distillers White Rum, 1 oz fresh lime juice and 1/2 oz of simple syrup. Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well. Strain into a glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Devil’s Reef

Finally, we have Devil’s Reef, a cinnamon-infused spiced rum from K Street Spirits, which gives a new take on an old favorite. To that end, this is their Old Fashioned: 1.5 oz Devil’s Reef Rum, 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters, 1 sugar cube, and a few dashes of water. Muddle the sugar, bitters and water in an old-fashioned glass. Fill glass with ice and rum. Garnish with an orange peel and cocktail cherry.

Alcohol Drinks Restaurants What's New

This Restaurant Serves A Mean Foie Gras Old Fashioned

The infamous foie gras ban was lifted in California two years ago, and restaurants are having a blast incorporating the fatty duck liver into everyday foods and drinks.

Nick & Stef’s Steakhouse in Downtown Los Angeles just announced a brand-new cocktail that incorporates foie gras into a fat-based cocktail: The Foie Gras Old Fashioned.

The foie gras is rendered until there’s an excess of fat on the frying pan. The fat is then strained and filtered multiple times and stored for 24 hours before serving.

Using Whistle Pig Whiskey, the rendered fat is mixed with the hard liquor. Sugars, bitters, and an orange peel are also added to the drink with garnished pieces of seared foie gras.

Evan Charest, corporate mixologist of the Pantina Restaurant Group, drew inspiration from the drink ‘Benton’s Old Fashioned’, which utilized bacon fat. Charest realized he hadn’t seen anyone do a take on foie gras, and wanted to create something a little more high-end for his regulars.

You can find it permanently on Nick & Stef’s cocktail menu starting December.

Whole Foods Will Be Selling Jello Shots Made From Our Favorite Cocktails

Whole Foods is finally coming around to the idea of being cool, and we love it!

It’s time to get yo jelly on at Whole Foods with these new premade jello shots! If you’re at all like me, you’re an idiot when it comes to cooking anything, so premade jello shots are right up my alley. These little cups of liquory goodness will be a success at any holiday party.

There are even more flavors on the way!

Ludlow’s Cocktail Company, the company Whole Foods is teaming up with on the project, has jello shots available by different cocktails, rather than simple flavors. These include: Fresh Lime Margarita, Meyer Lemon Drop, Old Fashioned, Planter’s Punch, and arguably the best cocktail of 2015, the Moscow Mule.

Unfortunately, the wobbly alcoholic treats will only be sold (initially) at Sherman Oaks West, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance and Encinitas. However I don’t doubt that they will be sold nationwide in just a matter of time.

I mean, who doesn’t love eating to get drunk?

Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour: First Orange County Location

Today the wait is over because the shops at Mission Viejo will be opening doors to a 7,300-square-foot restaurant and ice cream shop. Although there’s a Farrell’s in Santa Clarita, the Mission Viejo restaurant will be the first of several “original concept” parlours planned in California. (Thx Fastfoodmaven)
