Baskin-Robbins Has a Camouflage-Flavored Ice Cream


As November begins, Baskin-Robbins has announced their ice cream flavor of the month: First Class Camouflage. Like its namesake, the ice cream will feature a unique camouflage design that looks as impressive as their Wild ‘n Reckless Sherbet.

First Class Camouflage is made by combining chocolate, salty caramel and cake-flavored ice cream in order to get a unique three-way color. Customers can have the tri-colored flavor either in a cone or as a sundae topped with whipped cream, chocolate and caramel syrup, and crushed Oreos.

There are so many delicious scenarios that could be accomplished with camouflage ice cream. You could literally hide in the bushes snacking on sweets.

Okay, so not that many. Maybe just eat it at the store, or something.


DQ Offers Pumpkin Pie Shake for November


Last month Dairy Queen offered the classic Pumpkin Pie as October’s Blizzard of the month. This month, since the Blizzard flavor was so shockingly popular (who would’ve guessed?), the big DQ has decided to extend its stay and keep it through November. Except, this time it’s Remixed.

What does “Remixed” entail? Shakes. Cones. Pumpkin EVERYWHERE. To put it simply, DQ is now serving the Blizzard in waffle cones and transforming it into Pumpkin Pie Royal Shakes. Could our pumpkin dreams get any sweeter? No, no they really couldn’t.

If you want to get your Pumpkin Pie Remixed on, you have until Thanksgiving to snag these treats.

Pumpkin Spice Bars

Although this month may be National Peanut Butter month (and, a great month at that!), to me, November also means “Pumpkin”. So, go pumpkin crazy. I am.

With an oat crusted bottom, and a moist pumpkin spice center, it makes for a perfect addition or alternative for Thanksgiving dessert’s. I myself, had one for breakfast with a nice, big mug of Christmas Blend coffee. Oh, how I love the holidays.

Pumpkin Spice Bars
  • 1 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 1/4 cup whole grain flour
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds (you can switch it up!)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup butter, room temperature (I used Earth Balance)


  • 15oz canned organic pumpkin (not pie filling)
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 heaping tablespoon Pumpkin Spice
Preheat oven to 375F. In a large bowl, mix all of your bar ingredients, adding in the butter last. Kneed the butter into the mix, until it resembles a crumbly texture. Reserve about 1 1/2 cups of this mixture for the topping, and press the rest of it into a pre-greased 13×9 pan. Bake for 10 minutes.
In a medium bowl, beat all of the filling ingredients until fully combined and smooth. Pour this mixture over the baked crust, then top with the reserved bar mixture, and toss back into the oven for 25-30 minutes. Allow to cool before cutting.

Subway’s November $5 Featured Footlong — Chicken Marinara Melt

After October’s Anytober deal that involved all of Subway‘s sandwiches seeing a price drop to $5, the sandwich chain has reverted back to their original prices and rotating $5 Footlong monthly deals. For the month of November they’ve brought up their Chicken Marinara Melt sandwich that utilizes their signature marinara sauce slathered on their chicken breast patties, melted cheese and served toasty on freshly baked Italian bread.

The nutritional breakdown on the Chicken Marinara Melt is 820 calories, 20.8 grams of fat, 80 mg of cholesterol and 56 grams of protein.
