New NERDS Clusters Wraps The Candy Around Gummy Core

I’ve always believed that there exists a level of sweet tooth satiation that can only be achieved with a box of Nerds. My only gripe is that, in a rush to have some, I’ll tend to drop a few (dozen) getting them out of the box.

Now, from the hallowed halls of Nerds HQ comes a new form of the treat that avoids all that messiness. This new innovation wraps the colorful confections around a sweet gummy center.

The new Nerds Gummy Clusters are composed of mini Rainbow Nerds that wrap around a soft gummy center.

It sounds like biting into a sugar-packed dream, really.

You can find the new Nerds Gummy Clusters available this August at supermarket snack aisles across the country.

Food Surgeon Performs Delicious Surgical Procedure On This Piece Of Licorice

The Food Surgeon is a master of his oddly niche craft. That’s for sure. You may remember him cutting open a 3 Musketeers Bar and placing a Kit Kat Bar perfectly inside it.

In his latest video, performing a surgery that every single individual at the Foodbeast office fears, the YouTuber cuts open a clogged grape-flavored Red Vines’ artery and removes a piece of Nerds from inside. He then patches it up with some Fruit Roll-Ups.

While the task doesn’t sound life-changing, the beauty lies in how the video is shot. With the macro images of the procedure and the metallic audio void of music, it’s a haunting visual experience.

Check out the surgery and see for yourself.

This 24-Hour Coffee Shop Has Video Games, Books, Costumes & More

Nerds, dorks and dweebs, unite! A young man named Kristopher Irons had a dream to create a 24-hour coffee shop that panders to geeks and gamers alike, so what did he do? The next logical thing of course: he started a Kickstarter campaign to create his dream coffee shop, Requiem.

Final Fantasy fans might recognize the font and style of the coffee shop’s name.

Irons realized that outside of the world’s largest geek conventions (such as Comiket with 590,000 people, gamescon with 335,000, Japan Expo with 240,000 and San Diego and New York Comic Cons, with 130,000 and 150,000 people, respectively), there is no place that’s not online for friends and fans of anime, comics, games, movies, tv shows, books and other mediums of geekdom to gather, discuss and socialize.

“Sports fans have sports bars where they can go for countless hours…why don’t fans of anime, books, cartoons, comics, movies, tv shows, or video games?”

He even made a pretty good observation about how large groups of people are (and should be) catered to: “Sports fans have sports bars where they can go for countless hours to feel at home, surrounded by people who understand their passions — why don’t fans of anime, books, cartoons, comics, movies, tv shows, or video games?”

Anyone who has ever played a game like Zelda will recognize these colorful “potions”

Being a gamer, I can proudly say I’ve spent countless hours playing video games, often going into the ridiculous hours of the morning. Irons can relate, which is why his startup coffee joint will be open 24 hours a day! Being a nerd myself, I’m very familiar with the whole “bullies and nerds” culture. Irons seems to also know it, since he puts a big emphasis on the fact that no harassment at all will be tolerated in his coffee shop. It’s meant to be a safe haven where people can feel comfortable being themselves.

Irons will also be implementing a “stop and go” system of sorts. If someone is happy to socialize and willing to let people approach his or her table, he’ll turn his table cone over to reveal the green cone. If he or she simply wants to snuggle up with a book, a cup of coffee and their thoughts, they can flip the cone over to the red side.

The coffee shop will have four general areas based on common themes throughout a variety of popular games. One area will be a Sci-fi area similar to those seen in games like Halo and Destiny, another corner will be a woodland shire-type area, much like Zelda and Skyrim, one corner will take inspiration from castles, cathedrals and other large structures commonly found in RPGs, and the last corner will feature the retro-modern stylings often associated with steampunk trends and the 50s/60s.

Requiem will be located in Anaheim, California, close to the Disneyland area, so that guests anywhere from LA to San Diego will be able to take a short trip to reach their mini Comic Con destination. The shop will also have cosplay items for use, board and card games, high speed internet for gaming, art supplies for artists, a community board to find others with the same interest, and a huge supply of books and comics at your disposal. If you want to donate to this genius idea, check out the Kickstarter campaign here!

Well, it looks like I’ve found my new home…so who’s coming with me? In the words of Super Mario, “Let’s a-go!”

RUN: There is Now a NERDS Slush at Sonic

Each summer, Sonic rolls out 25 new shake and slush flavors. It’s magical. This year, however, the national chain decided to release 50 summer varieties, because sugar rushes are delicious. Some slushes are even inspired by candy, like the Atomic Lemon and Super Peach Ring. Yet the flavor that just might reign supreme is the Blue Raspberry made with NERDS.

Alongside the new slushes are an array of delicious shakes, from Chocolate Covered Jalapeno to Lemon Pie. If you’re craving something totally out of the box, you can create your own dessert with ingredients like cheesecake and chocolate hazelnut.

FYI: slushes are half-price from 2-4 pm and shakes are half-price after 8 pm all summer! Get on it, folks.

We’re Pretty Mad We Weren’t Invited to This Awesome Harry Potter Party

Muggle parties are so last year.

The Potterheads over at Sugar Bean Bakers must have worked like house-elves to put together such a magical event. Obviously they knew any Harry Potter party worth its weight in Bertie Botts Beans would be incomplete without some Butterbeer and Chocolate Frogs.

With a feast fit for the Great Hall, this Potter party had it all. Polyjuice Potion for the mischievous bunch, Dementor Relief bars in case you got caught in a kiss, and even a Potions station to create your own brew! We can’t imagine the planning and cleverness that went into this extreme party planning — from the food to Harry Potter-themed games (complete with House Points!) to the overall aesthetics.

So, shut up and take my galleons!

Also, where was our invite yo?

Head over here for more on all the goodies at this gathering.

Fruity Candy Bark

With Thanksgiving behind us and Christmas fast approaching, most people are probably taking a break from consuming indulgent and decadent foods. I’m not most people.

Basically, I united my favorite fruity candies, with a little help from my trusty sidekick, white chocolate, into one saccharin-licious superpower of a dessert (so dubbed Diabetes Bark by my taste testers).

Fruity Candy Bark

– 12oz white chocolate chips

– 6oz Nerds

– 11oz Skittles

– 8 pixie sticks (2 of each color)

1. Pour all of the pixie stick dust into a bowl.

2. Prep a cookie sheet with wax paper.

3. Melt white chocolate chips in the microwave and stir in 1/3 of the Nerds.

4. Spread white chocolate out on the wax paper and spread the Skittles out over the chocolate.

5. Sprinkle the rest of the Nerds out over the chocolate and then do the same with the pixie stick dust.

6. Chill in fridge to set and then break apart.

This ludicrously sweet candy bark is bounce-off-the-walls awesome. The sugar…oh, the sugar! And the fruitiness! Make and consume this immediately. And don’t worry about the body shakes; their completely normal.
