Wendy’s Debuts Nationwide Breakfast Menu That Includes Breakfast Baconator

Wendy’s is on the precipice of a major renaissance after an announcement earlier this year about bringing their lauded Spicy Chicken Nuggets out of retirement. The fast food chain has now dropped another major bombshell about their menu that may be a huge plus for the brand: a nationwide BREAKFAST MENU.

Currently, Wendy’s is one of the more popular fast food burger joints that has yet to offer breakfast as a widespread option. Prior to this announcement, a few hundred Wendy’s locations have had breakfast available in some form. However, all restaurants will sell a morning meal after plans were announced to implement an entirely new breakfast menu sometime in 2020.

The new menu will feature items like a Breakfast Baconator, a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, and Frosty-ccinos.

Wendy’s also plans to hire about 20,000 new employees to help usher this expansion in the year to come.

Personally, I’m seriously excited for that Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit. Breakfast biscuit sandwiches are such an under appreciated menu item.

We’ll follow up once the menu hits stores, stay tuned!

Yogurtland Is Giving Away FREE Frozen Yogurt For One Day Only

Yogurtland is going above and beyond to make Mondays tolerable again by giving away free frozen yogurt on February 8th in light of National Frozen Yogurt Day.

The company opened the doors to it’s first location in Fullerton, California, in February of 2006, also making this the 10 year anniversary for the healthier ice cream substitute.

The promotional campaign will only be available on Monday from 4 PM to 7 PM in all participating locations, which should be all of them. This deal also includes free toppings, because it would be pointless without them.

Fans of the yogurt chain will receive a commemorative cup to go along with their collectible Hershey’s spoon, all free in honor of the great accomplishment Yogurtland has achieved.

Now to find a way to have National Yogurt Day every day…

McDonald’s $1 Mozzarella Sticks Will Now Be Sold NATIONALLY

In huge news, McDonald’s just announced that they’re adding Mozzarella Sticks to national menus. Last year, the fast food chain had been testing the cheese sticks for a $1 an order. Looks like those tests were successful.

Business Insider reports that McDonald’s US President Mike Andres just announced at an investors’ meeting the cheesy new plan to go national starting next year.

Apparently, the mozzarella sticks were a hit in Wisconsin where the company had been testing the menu item. An order of mozzarella sticks consisted of three pieces and some marinara-like dipping sauce. Business Insider says that the consumer base was looking for more snacking options to customize their meals with.

The sticks will continue to be sold at $1 for an order of three sticks. Looking for them sometime in early 2016.

McDonald’s May Begin Serving Breakfast ALL DAY, EVERYWHERE

Looks like the dream of an all-day McDonald’s breakfast might be coming true. An internal memo sent by McDonald’s Corp. to franchisees tells the store owners to get ready for a potential national launch of the morning menu, NRN reports.

Apparently, results from the all-day breakfast tests in San Diego and Nashville we “encouraging” enough to warrant national preparation. While it’s not a guarantee that they’ll make the national launch official, they’re getting everyone ready in case it does happen.

According to NRN, McDonald’s says that serving the breakfast menu all day is the number one request they get from customers. Currently, they serve breakfast until 10:30 a.m. every morning and 11:00 a.m. on weekends. Due to the having too many ingredients between the lunch menu and breakfast, serving an all-day breakfast menu would prove complicated for franchisees to execute.

Breakfast sales are typically consistent, despite decline in McDonalds’ overall sales. If a breakfast does expand to an all-day menu, McDonald’s might very well see a rise in sales.

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s Roll Out Fresh-Baked Buns

The days of generic buns appear to be over. Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s now use fresh-baked buns for their premium burgers. The fast-food chain tested the new buns around mid-October at select locations and plans on incorporating them on a national scale by Nov. 14. Customers will be able to substitute any bun from a regular burger for a fresh-baked one for an additional fee.

Could this be a game-changer? It does seem like a step in the right direction for the chain. Plus, foodies will definitely note the the difference “artisanal” bread can make on a sandwich.
