KFC Wants You To Look Extra Crispy With Their New Sunscreen That Smells Like Chicken

It’s well-known that KFC loves to stay ahead of the trends. A few months ago, the company introduced edible nail polish in Hong Kong, and shortly after, KFC India released a portable meal box that actually charges your phone, called Watt-A-Box.

While the previous items were released outside of the U.S., the brand’s latest promo item seems to target the American beach loving demographic.

From now on, KFC Extra Crispy Sunscreen will be the first item on your beach day packing list. However, KFC wants you to know that while this product will give the user UV protection — SPF 30 — KFC’s Extra Crispy Sunscreen is NOT edible, according to its website.

KFC debuted their new cosmetic product via Twitter on Aug. 22, but at the time of this report, KFC’s corresponding website ran a disclaimer explaining that supplies had ran out, but remains confident customers can, “still look at it.” In fact, KFC fine print revealed that supplies were very limited.

However, that didn’t discourage Twitter users from immediately jumping on the Extra Crispy bandwagon. Twitter user, Chris W., said he’ll be blasting the, “good stuff” all over his body, soon.

KFC Sunscreen OutWe are really looking forward to eating a bucket of KFC Extra Crispy, on the beach, while using the Watt-A-Box to charge our phone, tweeting with our KFC nail-polished fingers, about how delicious KFC’s Extra Crispy Sun Screen smells.

KFC Creates Edible Nail Polish And Apparently It’s Finger Lickin Good

Its chic packaging, clever tagline and slick new music video tell us KFC is all in on their new cosmetic line. Check out the video below.

KFC Hong Kong collaborated with communications company Ogilvy & Mather, and spice maker McCormick, the maker of KFC’s 11 secret herbs and spices recipe, to debut two new flavors of edible nail polish. Both Original Recipe and Hot & Spicy, actually taste like KFC chicken.

KFC HK has been hinting toward the launch of something “revolutionary” on social media and on April 26, the brand debuted their attempt to revolutionize  cosmetics industry via its Facebook page cover photo.

While it’s unclear how the public will react to KFC’s new creation, Adweek reported that John Koay, Ogilvy creative director, was excited to announced the debut of this one-of-a-kind product.

“The recipe for our edible nail polish is unique and was specifically designed to hold the flavor, but to also dry with a glossy coat similar to normal nail polish,” Koay told Adweek. “This campaign is designed to be intriguing and fun to increase excitement around the KFC brand in Hong Kong.”

French Fry Fingernails Are the New Nail Swag

fry nail art

Forget fancily decorated fingernails holding burgers. The next hot trend? Combining the two (previously very, very distinct) realms with fry fingers!

We’re guessing the “fries” here are what appear to be carefully painted and placed strips of tape. As for the box — the choices are endless. From the Golden Arches to a cheesin’ star to a red-headed, freckly little girl, your nails are an endless canvas to display your personal tastes.

Now if these mini fries were edible, that would take this look to the next level. You’d have the world eating from your fingertips, literally.

H/T that’s nerdalicious! + PicThx NoWayGirl
