Burger King Rocks New PUMPKIN SPICE OREO Shake

BK Pumpkin Spice Shake

Because it seems every fast food place needs some kind of pumpkin dish for the fall, Burger King has added a new Pumpkin Spice Oreo Shake to its menu.

Brand Eating reports that the limited-time item boasts a pumpkin spice syrup that’s blended with an Oreo Shake. Unfortunately, that means there’s no real pumpkins in the beverage. Though I’m sure we’ll find a way to enjoy a fast food shake without actual pumpkins.

Patrons can find the shake priced $2.59 for a small 12-oz. The Pumpkin Spice Oreo Shake will be available at all participating Burger King locations thorough the fall.

Hopefully, it won’t turn our poop orange.

Major Burger Chain Just Added A CRICKET MILKSHAKE To Their Menu

A while back, Wayback Burgers joked about creating an Oreo mud pie milkshake made with cricket powder. Though it was only an April Fool’s gag, the chain was met with positive attention towards the fake drink. Apparently people lined up to try it.

Because of this, Wayback is actually bringing the chocolate cricket shake to life. Made with a Peruvian chocolate-flavored cricket powder, the Oreo protein milkshake will be at Wayback Burgers for a limited time.

CNBC reports that the chain has tested 20 to 30 different versions of this recipe. This includes five different cricket powders.

The shake will be available to patrons starting July 1 through September. If successful, the shake might find itself a permanent spot on the Wayback Burgers menu.

9-Year-Old Explains Net Neutrality With Milkshakes

Net Neutrality has become a hot topic of debate over the last few months. It’s the idea that all service providers and governments should not be allowed to be selective with their services depending on the user or platform. Essentially, it’s about the equality of data. However, not many people understand it enough to find a well-informed stance on it.

Redditor kvw260 explained to his 9-year-old son the meaning behind Neutrality. He then caught his kid explaining it to one of his friends afterwards.

Pretend ice cream stores gave away free milkshakes. But you had to buy a straw to drink them. But that’s okay, because you still get free milkshakes. One day you’re drinking a free milkshake and you look down and the guy that sold you the straw is pinching it almost shut. You can still get your milkshake, but it’s really hard and takes a lot longer.

So you say, “Hey! Stop that!” And the straw guy says, “NO! Not until the ice cream store pays me money.” And you say, “But I already paid you money for the straw.” And the straw guy says, “I don’t care. I just want more money.”

It’s safe to say this is probably the best explanation we’ve heard so far. Also, we’re craving milkshakes like crazy now.

The FCC recently passed major Net Neutrality rules in a landmark vote.

Five Guys Testing Customizable Milkshakes, Includes Bacon

Fans of the Five Guys burger chain will be pleased to hear that you can absolutely prolong your order time now that they’re testing customizable milkshakes. That’s gotta be wonderful for the lines. Though, hey, bacon and Oreo milkshake!

Customers begin with a vanilla base for their milkshake. They’re then given the option to mix in as many topping options as their artery-clogged hearts desire. Some of the more notable toppings include salted caramel, coffee, Oreo cookies and of course bacon.

Not sure yet if it’s a Highlander type situation where the fewer ingredients you choose, the more you’ll get or if each shake will have a fixed amount. Regardless, customers can now relish in the fact that their entire meal is customizable. In a few years, they’ll probably let us choose how to cook our burgers and fries as well.

The milkshakes are currently being tested at select Five Guys locations, specifically in the East Coast.

Sonic Offers Chocolate Holiday Mint Shake and Molten Cake Sundae for Christmas

SONIC Shakes

Thanksgiving is next week, which means Christmas is right around the corner. In anticipation of the holiday, Sonic is launching mint-themed items for the Christmas season. Joining the Sonic menu are the Chocolate and Vanilla Holiday Mint Shake, plus the Molten Cake Sundae.

The Chocolate Holiday Mint Shake marries ice cream with crushed mints in a chocolate shake topped with whipped cream, while the Vanilla version swaps the chocolate for vanilla ice cream. The Molten Cake Sundae features a chocolate cake filled with hot fudge and topped with ice cream, crushed holiday mints, whipped cream, mo’ chocolate and a cherry. Those with a sweet tooth could probably tackle these three in a single sitting.

Sonic’s mint desserts will only be around through the month of December.

New Steak ‘n Shake Burger Piles on Two Layers of Bacon

There aren’t many things that can top two layers of bacon and Steak ‘n Shake is well aware of that fact. The restaurant chain added their Bacon Lovers Steakburger as a new featured menu item. The burger piles on two seared Steakburger patties, two slices of American cheese, ketchup, mayo and four strips of crispy bacon. As far as bacon goes, the new offering meets the three-piece minimum to call itself a bacon burger.

The Bacon Lovers Steakburger is available for $5.49 and comes served with a side of fries at participating Steak ‘n Shake locations.

Steak n Shakes drinks

Steak ‘n Shake is also adding four limited-time holiday shakes to their menu. Peppermint Chocolate Chip (with peppermint and chocolate), Egg Nog (with nutmeg) and White Chocolate (with red and green sprinkles) shakes are now available through the holidays. All shakes are topped with whipped cream and a cherry.

Between the Bacon Burger and the Egg Nog, this definitely sounds like Christmas to me.

Smashburger Offers PB&J Milkshake, Brings Back Memories of Paper Bag Lunches

When I think peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, I think of paper bag lunches and my PB&J smashed beneath a soggy banana and a Ziploc bag filled with potato chips. However, no matter the state of my PB&J (courtesy of my dad’s culinary skills), it always tasted fantastic — with the perfect balance of chunky peanut butter and grape jelly.

Which, of course, makes Smashburger’s latest offering — a Peanut Butter & Jelly shake — a tasty, nostalgic treat. The new item is available at all locations nationwide now through September 30th. The hand-spun shake features Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream swirled with strawberry syrup and crushed Nutter Butter cookies for that “authentic peanut butter and jelly flavor.”

Ugh, Nutter Butter cookies in our milkshakes? Absolute genius.
