Take BBQ To The Next Level With This Massive Root Beer Glazed Pulled Pork Hot Pokket

Mess Hall Canteen is like a rolling fortress, serving hungry meat-lovers across Southern California.

Now, Mess Hall is gearing up for one of its most rigorous battles yet – Hansen’s Fresh Coat Mural Fest happening in DTLA’s Arts District on October 7.

Later, Mess Hall will be slinging at OOZEFEST 3, FOODBEAST’s third annual premiere Southern California Cheese Festival on October 14.

However, don’t think for one second that Mess Hall isn’t bringing heavy artillery to these culinary showdowns. If there’s one thing you should know about the purveyors of Giant BBQ Meat Shanks, it’s that they nothing they do is small.

So, in true oozey fashion, Mess Hall has reimagined a Hot Pocket, but in the cheesiest way possible.

Mess Hall’s Hansen’s Natural Soda Root Beer Glaze Hot Pokket is stuffed with Hansen’s root beer glazed pulled pork, aligot potatoes, and pickled cherries all stuffed inside a deep fried dough roll.

To make this dish even more unique, Mess Hall is serving it with a side of Hansen’s root beer glaze to dip in.

So, if you’re ready to battle with Mess Hall, we’ll see you at Hansen’s Fresh Coat Mural Fest, and OOZEFEST 3!

‘Elotots’ Are The Elote And Tater Tot Hybrid We All Need

These aren’t your average potato toddlers tater tots. These bad boys are called “Elotots!”

The staff sergeants at the Mess Hall Canteen food truck in Orange County, California have put together the machine gun of tater tot dishes. The tots — blanketed over creamy eloté style corn and dubbed “Elotots” — are filled with bacon crumble, diced jalapeños, mayo, parmesan and cotija cheese, and garnished with their signature napalm sauce and hot Takis chips. Your tastebuds won’t know what hit them.

Mess Hall’s tater tots are deep fried to a perfect crisp, even with the rich and creamy eloté sauce enveloping them, while all the ingredients are in perfect sync, creating a complementary texture with each bite you take.

Celebrate National Lemonade Day On August 20th With These Blackberry Lemonade Glazed Short Ribs

It’s no secret Mess Hall Canteen doesn’t play when it comes to creating exciting new additions to their already robust menu. Even though Mess Hall is a food truck, it operates like a five-star steakhouse — producing some of the most exclusive barbecue dishes on the West Coast.

Considering Mess Hall’s tendency to go all-in with every new recipe they debut, it was only obvious a partnership with Hubert’s Lemonade for National Lemonade Day on August 20 would create an intense barbecue dish.

For only TWO DAYS you can find Hubert’s Blackberry Lemonade Glazed Spare Ribs at Mess Hall Canteen. You’d be wise to move fast, because they’ll only be around until supplies last. On August 20, Mess Hall will be at Green Check Brewing in TKTK, and on August 22, you’ll be able to find Mess Hall at Street Food Tuesday in Orange County.

This delectable dish is made with Hubert’s Blackberry Lemonade Glaze, which Mess Hall created by infusing Hubert’s Blackberry Lemonade with fresh blackberries, hoisin, soy and lemongrass. The spare ribs are then sous vide for 24-hours in a vacuum-sealed bag with soy and Hubert’s blackberry lemonade.

Next, the ribs are smoked for two hours and basted with Hubert’s blackberry Lemonade Glaze every 20 minutes.

The dish is finally topped with pickled blackberries, and garnished with pickled blackberries, shaved lemon, black & white sesame seeds, and a chiffonade of Thai Basil.

This is truly a blackberry-infused barbecue bonanza you need to try now! Be sure to get these ribs while they’re hot!

Brace Yourself For Mess Hall Canteen’s ‘SPAM Bomb’

FOODBEAST’s upcoming meat festival, Meat Street Presented by the Makers of SPAM Brand at Main Place Mall, is about to turn the wildest dreams of SPAM lovers and meat aficionados into a never-before-seen experience that will showcase unique, MEAT STREET exclusive recipes you won’t find at your local county fair. (Get your tickets here!)

One of the vendors at the festival is Mess Hall Canteen, who has become a model innovator in the mobile food industry, creating share-worthy gourmet dishes that push the limitations of what can be accomplished in a food truck. And they’re bringing plenty of that artillery to MEAT STREET.

Brace yourselves, Mess Hall Canteen is about to set off the SPAM BOMB: a crispy, and cheesy take on Spam musubi. Imagine melty mozzarella and pepper jack cheese, with sliced HICKORY SMOKE SPAM wrapped in a tempura battered nori, and deep fried until golden brown.

Get your cameras ready, because the SPAM BOMB is about to blow up on social media.

Earlier this month, the world was introduced to Mess Hall’s other MEAT STREET item — The Beef Shank, a deep-fried sous vide beef shank, smothered in chipotle barbecue sauce. But, you know that’s wasn’t all the ammo they were packing.

As MEAT STREET gets closer, stay tuned in and you’ll get a chance to preview all the juicy exclusive items that will be available for those in attendance at MainPlace Mall in Santa Ana, Calif., April 22.

Earlier, the world got its first look at Doner Saltado, a MEAT STREET specific recipe created by So Cal-based Doner G Turkish & Mediterranean Grill.

Satisfy Your Inner Carnivore With This MASSIVE Beef Shank

You may know Mess Hall Canteen as the food truck that gave the world those glorious Panhard Soft Shell Crab Mac and Cheese Tater Tots. Now, their menu just got a lot more beefier.

The Meat Street Beef Shank is set to debut at Foodbeast’s upcoming meat festival Meat Street Presented by the Makers of SPAM Brand at Main Place Mall. Trust, it’s definitely something to keep an eye out for.

Imagine walking around a meat festival with a giant cow leg in hand, cooked to perfection. We’re calling it now, this might be one of the most Instagram-worthy items at the event. Just prepare to have your phones coated in BBQ sauce.

To create this two fisted bovine bonanza, Mess Hall sous vide the shank for 18 hours, battered it, deep-fried it, and drowned this hefty masterpiece in barbecue sauce and a scintillating drizzle of chipotle sauce.

Though Mess Hall says you can easily share this with more than one person, there’s just something so satisfying about conquering a mountain of meat all by yourself. Think of the sauce stains on your shirt as badges of honor.

You can find the massive Beef Shank, along with tons of other dishes that will make a meat lover blush at Meat Street on Saturday, April 22.

If you’re looking for a medium to channel your inner carnivore, you can purchase your tickets to the event here. Early bird tickets for Marketplace is $5 (buy as you eat) and VIP is $50 (all-you-can-consume). After April 10, prices go up to $10 and $60, respectively.
