McDonald’s Cashier Caught Trying To Dispose Newborn In Restaurant Toilet

A McDonald’s employee gave birth at work, then tried to flush the newborn child down a toilet, according to the Los Angeles Times. The mother, McDonald’s cashier Sarah Lockner is now facing attempted murder charges for her actions.

During her shift at a Redwood City, Calif. location, Lockner complained about stomach pain and made several trips to the bathroom. A couple of employees came in to check up on her and found blood on the floor. Lockner told them she was having a heavy menstrual cycle, but one of her coworkers saw the infant face-down in the toilet. Lockner then flushed the toilet, begging the others to not call the police, which they did anyway.

When police arrived, the baby boy had no pulse or breath. While the cops were able to successfully perform CPR and the infant is alive and now in stable condition, it is not yet known how much brain damage he will suffer as a result of his mother’s actions.

Lockner and her boyfriend both claim to have not known that she was pregnant. However, she has been charged with attempted murder and child abuse causing great bodily injury. The Palo Alto Daily Post reports that she could face a lifetime sentence if convicted.

McDonald’s Sued By Transgender Former Employee For Sexual Discrimination

Photo by Mike Mozart on Flickr.

La’Ray Reed, a transgender woman and former McDonald’s crew member, is suing her old employer for severe workplace discrimination and sexual harassment she suffered at work and was allegedly fired for reporting it.

In the lawsuit, which was obtained by Buzzfeed, Ms. Reed documents a plethora of traumatizing experiences she suffered while working at a McDonald’s in Redford, Michigan. These egregious accounts range in severity from inappropriate comments and taunts to being restricted to back-of-house roles and clocked out by management before her shifts ended, and even being groped by a coworker per instructions from a manager.

The most appalling of these allegations, however, is that Ms. Reed was barred from using either the men’s or women’s restroom. Instead, a manager ordered her to clean up a “filthy, unused bathroom that served as a broom closet in the back of the store” and was required to only use that bathroom from that point forward.

When Ms. Reed attempted to report the incidents to the franchise’s owner, it resulted in a conference call between her, the owner, and a store manager who decried all of the complaints as false. Shortly after that conference call, Ms. Reed was fired in a possible retaliation move by store management.

Afterward, Ms. Reed had to undergo treatment for “severe mental and emotional trauma,” and even considered suicide. Thus, she’s seeking reparations from McDonald’s and the franchise owner for the economic and mental damage she incurred as a result of the sexual harassment, sexual assault, and discrimination she endured on the job.

Our current political climate makes it less likely McDonald’s will be held responsible in this lawsuit.  While the Obama administration issued a guidance that suggested companies like McDonald’s should be jointly responsible for working conditions and pay at its franchised locations, the Trump administration formally withdrew that guidance this past week. This means that McDonald’s could argue its way out of the lawsuit by claiming it can’t be held responsible for the working conditions Ms. Reed endured. If they were successful, the franchise owner would have to deal with the full consequences of the lawsuit and McDonald’s would get off scot-free.

We’ll be keeping tabs on this litigation to see if McDonald’s has to pay Ms. Reed or not when everything is resolved.

The Internet REALLY Wants McDonald’s Employee Who ID’ed Facebook Killer To Get Reward

When the infamous “Cleveland Facebook Killer,” Steve Stephens, showed up at a McDonald’s in Harborcreek Township, Pennsylvania, one employee’s actions led to the murderer being found before killing himself in the middle of a police chase.

Now, as the investigation continues into everything that happened, it’s come up that there was a $50,000 reward for anyone who led police to the killer’s location or whereabouts. The internet has a pretty good idea of who they want that reward to go to: the unnamed McDonald’s employee.

The $50,000 reward is coming from the FBI, ATF, and U.S. Marshal Service, according to TMZ. They also spoke to law enforcement officials who said its clear that the actions of the employee and the franchise owner that stalled the Cleveland Facebook Killer made a huge difference in them being able to track down and apprehend the criminal.

Grubstreet reports that as of right now, it’s not totally clear as to whether the McDonald’s team qualifies for the reward due to them being employees, but based on what the employee and owner did, the answer is obvious enough. If not for their actions, Stephens could’ve gotten even further away and possibly disappeared off the grid.

Even if they don’t qualify for the reward, McDonald’s should do the right thing and reward the Harborcreek Township location for their valiant service. One Twitter suggestion on how they could reward the franchise is spot-on:

I couldn’t agree more.

McDonald’s Employee Helps Lead Authorities To Cleveland Facebook Killer

After an exhausting search that encompassed six states before going nationwide, police were finally able to catch up with the “Cleveland Facebook killer,” Steve Stephens, thanks to a tip from a McDonald’s employee.

According to GoErie, a staffer working the drive-thru at the Harborcreek Township location of McDonald’s in Pennsylvania recognized Stephens when he ordered twenty McNuggets and french fries from his car. The employee quickly called the police upon that realization, according to Thomas DuCharme Jr., owner of that particular McDonald’s location.

In an attempt to delay Stephens, employees told him that his fries were just going to take a minute or so. The killer caught on to the ruse, however, and sped off without them.

Within a few minutes, police were on the scene and able to track down Stephens a few miles away from the McDonald’s. As they attempted to force his car to stop, Stephens shot himself in the head, choosing to die rather than face jail time.

Thanks to the unnamed McDonald’s server for reacting so quickly and professionally to the situation, getting police involved, and directly influencing the authorities catching up to this already notorious murderer.

Hero McDonald’s Employee Jumps Through Drive-Thru Window To Save Off-Duty Cop

This guy deserves a raise for his heroic efforts.

McDonald’s team member Pedro Viloria was serving an off-duty cop ordering breakfast for herself and her two children at a McDonald’s in Doral, Florida, when the cop had trouble breathing and suddenly fell unconscious.

According to FOX News, the cop’s SUV began to roll when her foot slipped off the brake. That’s when Viloria turned on hero mode and jumped out of the drive-thru window to save the woman.

After he pulled her out of the SUV, a second unnamed McDonald’s employee and a couple of firefighters eating inside the restaurant rushed to help revive the officer in distress, who was later taken to the hospital and treated.

McDonald’s later released a statement commending Pedro and the other staff member for their bravery and efforts:

“I think I speak for our McDonald’s family when I say how proud we are of Pedro. He is an excellent employee, so it didn’t surprise me that he took immediate action and jumped through a window to help save this woman. And he was not the only member of the team that played a pivotal role in ensuring she received the medical attention she needed. A second employee, who asked to remain unnamed, assisted with CPR. Their quick thinking and action were everything in that moment.”

While no condition update has been given yet for the off-duty cop, we are hopeful that she recovers from the scary incident.

If you happen to pass through that McDonald’s and Pedro is working, I’d give him a huge tip. The man deserves it.
