These Waffles Topped With Things Like Cake, Ice Cream, and Lollipops Are The Definition of Extra

If I had to choose between waffles or pancakes for the rest of my life, waffles would emerge victorious. The versatility of a waffle makes it a blank canvas for chefs, artists, and sugar fiends to create something truly magical. Waffle fans looking to experience that bit of magic, paired with a splash of decadence and a pinch whimsy, will want to check out Clinton Hall’s lavish WTF Waffles in New York City.

Don’t expect a mere waffle topped with some whipped cream and sprinkles. No, not at the popular Instagram-friendly restaurant and beer hall, where their innovative takes on the breakfast dish are truly a sight to behold.

Our crew on the ground got to sink their teeth into three of the most stunning stacks offered at the restaurant: the German Chocolate Waffle, the Birthday Cake Waffle, and the Elvis Waffle.

Photo: Evan Lancaster

The German Chocolate Waffle boasts layers of chocolate waffles, toasted coconut, and chocolate ice cream before it’s topped with whipped cream, coconut caramel drizzle, and a generous hunk of German chocolate cake.

Celebrate even the most mundane of weekdays with the Birthday Cake Waffle. This thing is filled with marshmallow fluff, vanilla ice cream, and a raspberry drizzle. To complete the theme, the loaded waffle is crowned with a slice of lollipops, birthday candles, and a slice of funfetti cake.

Creating an Elvis version of anything already has our mouths watering. In his prime, The King was known to craft peanut butter and banana sandwiches with slices of bacon. Clinton Hall’s interpretation of an Elvis sandwich, the Elvis Waffle, features peanut butter and jelly, banana ice cream, and crispy bacon. It’s crowned with a dark chocolate cake, bananas, and a pair of souvenir sunglasses — the final result teasing his likeness.

Salivating over these massive waffle stacks, I’m torn between which ones I want to try if I ever get around to visiting Clinton Hall. Guess I could always bring a few friends and go family style. Leaning hard towards that Elvis Waffle,  though. There’s just something about the sweet and salty combination of bacon and peanut butter that sings to me.

McDonald’s Is Testing A Loaded Bacon & Cheese Basket Of Fries

McDonald’s seems to be taking a page out of the Wendy’s book of bacon cheese fries by testing their own variation at a few locations.

The golden arches has introduced their new basket of Loaded Bacon & Cheese Fries, Brand Eating reports.

Atop McDonald’s salty signature French fries is a cheddar cheese sauce and applewood-smoked bacon crumbles. The test item is pretty similar to Wendy’s famous Baconator fries, except these are specifically designed for two customers.

It seems you can only get these fries at a few locations for now but, if successful, may potentially see a wider release sometime in the near future. Test spots include the Greater Pittsburgh area, Central West Virginia, Southeast Ohio, and Eastern Kentucky.

If you do happen to track them down, however, you and a pal can share a basket for $3.99.

Outback Just Loaded Their Bloomin’ Onion In The Best Possible Way

You can’t go to Outback Steakhouse without getting their iconic Bloomin’ Onion. We actually think people associate the popular side dish with the restaurant more than steak. Well, Outback’s adding a new take on their classic plate of fried onions. They’re loading them up.

The new Loaded Bloomin’ Onion is a regular Bloomin’ Onion topped with Loaded Aussie Cheese Fries. Those are topped with melted Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese with a sprinkle of chopped up bacon. They’re served with Outback’s bloom sauce and a spicy ranch dressing.

Outback’s new item will only be available for a limited time during the restaurant chain’s “Big Australia” promotion. Other new items include an 18-oz Center Cut Sirloin, Béarnaise Jumbo Shrimp-topped Filet and a Giant Crab-stuffed Lobster Tail.

McDonald’s ‘Fries Only’ Restaurant Is A Gorgeous Thing Of The Future

How often do you go to McDonald’s just for the french fries alone? We know the salty fast food offering isn’t fresh or organic, but there’s still so inviting about those deep-fried pieces of potato. So we were stoked to find out there was a McDonald’s in Australia that featured just the fries.

According to PopSugar, a pop-up called Fries With That opened over the weekend, May 27-29, and served nothing but the chain’s french fries. The pop-up featured seven different types of loaded McDonald’s fries to choose from.

The menu included fries with: Chipotle Cheese Sauce, Gravy, Peri Peri Cheese Sauce, Sweet Chilli & Sour Cream, Pesto Mayo & Parmesan, Curry and Caesar Sauce Bacon & Parmesan.

McDonald’s opened the weekend-long pop-up to get customers to try some potential toppings for the brand’s Loaded Fries addition.

I Ate Through Wienerschnitzel’s Entire New Line Of Loaded Po’Taters

The world’s most wanted wiener can breathe again wherever he’s hiding, thanks to Wienerschnitzel’s most delicious distraction to date.

The 55-year-old hot dog chain has retained its world-renowned fame thanks to notoriety of their chili dogs and corn dogs. Thankfully for us, the buck doesn’t stop there.

Wienerschnitzel recently introduced their newest creation, simply known as the Loaded Po’Taters. This new menu item comes in three cheesy flavors: Chili Cheese, Meat Lover’s and Blazin’

The Chili Cheese Loaded Po’Taters are the flagship item of the three, laying down the foundation for the other two. It comes with tater tot coins, thick chili and shredded cheese.

The Meat Lover’s comes with all of the same ingredients, in addition to a healthy serving of mini pepperoni slices and surprisingly large bits of bacon (compared to average bacon bits), grilled to a crunchety crisp.

Lastly, the Blazin’ Loaded Po’Taters come with the standard taters, cheese and chili, then are topped with freshly cut jalapeno slices and a thorough drizzle of Wienerschnitzel’s own Blazin’ sauce.

These scrumptious little creations are available now, but only for a limited time.

13 Souplantation Hacks That’ll Change Your Entire Experience

Souplantation is one of our guilty pleasures. It’s the one place we can eat as much as we want, yet still feel OK about ourselves because it’s mostly soups and salads. Mostly.

Recently, we took an extended lunch and played with some hacks and upgrades one can dabble with at any Souplantation. We gotta admit, we might have had a little too much fun. Though it’s all in the name of discovery, right?

Check out some of the upgrades you can perform to enhance your dining experience.

Loaded Pasta

Grab any pasta. Be it penne, mac & cheese, carbonara (spaghetti), or linguini and load it up. Throw some mushrooms, bacon bits, cheese, onions, anything you can get your hands on that’ll load it up. Don’t be afraid of dessert toppings as well.

Corn Bread Soup

A popular hack, take a piece of corn bread and break it in half. Then, top it with chili and a little tomato soup. Let the cornbread soak everything up and add some sour cream, cheese and onions. The result should give you a moist, soup-soaked corn bread.

Clam Chowder Pizza

One of our favorites. Roll over to the pizza bar and grab some slices on a plate. Then, head back to the soup bar and ladle a generous amount of clam chowder. We suggest topping it with shredded cheese. Amazing.

Creamy Mushroom Soup Penne

Another popular hack, grab some penne from the pasta station. Then, go find the Cream of Mushroom from the soup bar and throw some one top the pasta. You’ll have a creamier pasta dish with more flavor and mushroom. Control the texture of the dish with how much pasta you add. Heads up, it’s gonna be rich.

3-Pepper Chili

Sure, the chili at Souplantation is great but it could definitely be spicier. Three peppers spicier. Grab yourselves a bunch of jalapeños, a pepperoncini and a generous dash of black pepper. Should kick your chili up a notch.

Bacon Chowder Potato

There’s a simple beauty to a baked potato with just butter and salt. However, if you’re doing all-you-can-eat, you’re gonna want to change it up. Split a baked potato in half and ladle some Clam Chowder on top. Then, throw some bacon on it!

Blueberry Muffin Top Ice Cream Sandwich

Everyone’s favorite part of the muffin is the top. It’s been proven time and time again. So we took the top of two blueberry muffins and used them as the part of an ice cream sandwich. Feel free to get some rainbow sprinkles in there, you’re already this far.

Yep, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Grab all the pastas you can get your hands on. Whether it’s in the pasta station, salad bar, or even if you feel like digging it out of soups. Toss them into a bowl and mix them together. God, those beautiful carbs.

Brownie Chocolate Bites

Souplantation has plenty of chocolate. If you take a brownie from the bakery and break it in half, you can throw some chocolate mousse on top one piece. On the other, put some chocolate ice cream on top (we chose a combination swirl). Let Oreo cookies, or chocolate sprinkles, rain. Finally, drizzle some hot chocolate syrup on top of your dessert.

Vanilla Bacon Cone

It’s often been proven that bacon goes great with dessert. So why not combine two of the most readily-avalible items at Souplantation? Make yourself a vanilla cone and sprinkle some bits of bacon on top. It’s delicious.

Sourdough BLT

Feel like sandwiches? The bakery section should have some freshly baked sourdough slices. Grab yourselves two and head back to the salad station. There, choose from any salad. That’s your lettuce. Grab some cherry tomatoes (we had to dice them up real quick) and finally some bacon bits. If you like your sandwiches a little more moist, we suggest adding a little cream from whatever pasta available with a white sauce.

Loaded Baked Potato

A simple, but essential upgrade. Find yourselves a hot baked potato and start piling. Cheese, onions, sour cream, green onions, basil, soup, bacon, anything you want. Load this baby up until you forget there’s a potato underneath.

Chili à la Mode

Ice cream and chili. Just because we wanted to see what it looked like. Yeah, maybe skip this one.

KFC Brings In New Loaded Potato Bowl with Bacon Cheese Sauce

When eating a KFC meal, it’s more than likely everything on your plate will get mashed together in a interlocked mess of food. So wouldn’t it just be much easier to throw everything into a single bowl anyways?

The Loaded Potato Bowl is made of mashed potatoes drenched in gravy served in a bowl. It’s then topped with corn, chopped up chicken tenders, green onions, a bacon and cheese sauce and sprinkled with a blend of three cheeses. Because KFC no longer serves popcorn chicken, we’ll have to settle for thicker cuts of tenders.

Customers can purchase the bowl for a limited time individually or as part of the $5 Fill Up Meal. The Fill Up Meals include a medium drink and a chocolate chip cookie along with the bowl. The Loaded Potato Bowl will be available at all participating KFC locations.
