Pizza Geography Map Charts the Closest Pizza Chains Near You

There’s nothing quite like the 2AM pizza delivery call to soothe our grease-lovin’ souls, and there are tons of different establishments from which we can choose. While the most recognizable are usually the chain restaurants (a la Pizza Hut and Papa John’s), have you ever thought about how prevalent these pizza chains are in the US?

Pizza Map
Nathan Yau of Flowing Data compiled all relevant research and created the above map that charts the nearest pizza chain within a 10-mile radius across the US — Chuck E. Cheese’s, CiCi’s, Domino’s, Godfather’s, Little Caesar’s, Papa John’s, Papa Murphy’s, Pizza Hut and Sbarro. While this data distribution alone is valuable, Yau broke it down in even further detail:

Where Individual Chains Can Be Found

Pizza Locations

When the data is broken down by chain, it seems that Pizza Hut and Domino’s reign supreme, although Papa John’s and Little Caesars might give ’em a run for their money. Interestingly enough, a few restaurants are still popular in the locations they originated — Little Caesars is strong in the Michigan area, and Papa Murphy’s has a decent presence in the northwest.

Have a pizza hankering? This chart shows you how each restaurant matches up against each another. Simply choose a chain on the left, one from the top and follow to wear they intersect to see how they compare.

While I’m a fan of these spots, we’re just stoked people are finally recognizing that Chuck E. Cheese has some high quality pie. Truth.

Little Caesars New DEEP!DEEP! Dish Pizza is not an April Fools’ Joke Probably

Just 54 years into the insta-pizza game, carry-out guru Little Caesars catches on: Starting April 1st, the DEEP!DEEP! Dish pizza will be premiering nation-wide, for just $8 +tax. The name is a play on LC’s iconic two-for-one deal, aka the PIZZA!PIZZA! chant at the end of every commercial, ever, and boasts a Detroit-style pizza with crispy crust achieved by a baking tray coated with olive oil.

Says Little Caesars Pizza President and CEO, David Scrivano:

“For more than 50 years, Little Caesars has been all about pizza. When we set out to create a new deep dish, we wanted it to have an incredible taste, epitomize quality, and fit the tremendous value and convenience Little Caesars is known for. Whether you’re a Little Caesars Pizza fanatic or trying our pizza for the first time, I think you’ll be impressed by our new DEEP!DEEP! Dish pizza.”

Also, because the best part of any square pizza, like a brownie, is the corner, the DEEP!DEEP! Dish pizza is actually two pizzas, so you get eight corners instead of just four. Which, if you weren’t keeping track, is eight more crispy, crunchy corners than your average pizza. So. You know. Winning.

THE BURGER: An 11 Lb. Monstrosity

Looks like the folks at Belly Busters have been inspired to create a truly remarkable, fattening and ultimately ridiculous burger. They’ve created a video that chronicles the creation of a sandwich they simply call “The Burger“. An heir of ridiculousness resides in the name, and rightfully so, with the buns created from 2 medium pizzas from Little Caesars, 7 lbs of ground beef mix, 40 Chicken McNuggets, 1 lb. of bacon, a burrito mix ( 2 Big Daddy’s Sausages, 2 Large pulled chickens, corn, beans, jalapenos, tomatoes), and a bottle of Tostitos Cheese Dip. Count me in for a bite! Or…a slice?

Little Caesars: Holiday Hot-N-Ready Pizza Sale (BOGO Deal)

For those unfamiliar with Little Caesars’ “Hot-N-Ready” pizzas, the chain offers up hot, out-of-the-oven and ready-when-you-are pizzas for its customers. While availability might fluctuate depending upon location, for the days of December 26, 27 and 28, you can utilize this coupon upon purchase of any Hot-N-Ready pizza to receive another one, of equal or lesser value, completely free! Two 14″ pizzas for the price of one? Eat on!
