Pringles Releasing Limited Edition Thanksgiving Flavors

Around this time last year, Pringles teased Foodbeast with Thanksgiving-flavored chips that weren’t released in stores.

The package came with eight different flavors; turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, creamed corn, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, and green bean casserole.

Some were hits and some were misses, but either way, it didn’t seem to matter since we couldn’t get our hands on them after they were all devoured by the rest of the Foodbeast team.

After Pringles’ little test run, it seems that they feel confident in releasing them to the masses, but with only three of those flavors mentioned above.

The limited Thanksgiving package will come with turkey, pumpkin pie, and stuffing, which were probably the safest flavors of the lineup.

While they still won’t be available in stores, you can grab a set for $14,99 at the online Kellogg Store, November 6, at 11:59 p.m. EST/8:59 p.m. PST.

This probably won’t replace anyone’s Thanksgiving dinner, especially since a pack costs almost as much as a real turkey, but ironically enough, this could probably make for a cute Christmas gift.

KFC Releases Its Own Smartphones To Celebrate 30th Anniversary In China

KFC could be out to prove itself the most tech savvy chicken joint in the world by going all-out for its 30th anniversary in China. It’s no secret KFC has been at the forefront of innovative items, like the phone charging Watt-A-Box meal deal or their edible finger nail polish — that actually tasted like chicken.

Now, KFC has announced that it is selling 5,000 units of a new, limited edition 30th Anniversary Colonel Sanders themed smartphone, that some are dubbing, “KFC’s iPhone Killer.

In celebration of KFC’s arrival to China back in 1987, the YumBrands! chicken giant has partnered with Huawei Mobile — a Chinese telecommunications company also founded in 1987 — to announce a smart phone already being sold online, at KFC “TMall” retailer for 1099 yuan, or $161.90 USD, according to the KFC Weibo page.

The Huawei X Kentucky Fried Chicken 30th Anniversary Phone is a, “limited edition line of Huawei [Enjoy] 7 Plus,” according to Fortune. The bright red device has a laser cut image of Colonel Sanders on the back along with the year “1987.” The phone features a 5.5-inch touchscreen, with 720 x 1290 pixels, along with Android 7 software.

The special anniversary device comes with a preinstalled version of the Kentucky Super App.  While it’s still a bit unclear what the Kentucky Super App is, the video, which was posted by Branding In Asia, shows users controlling the music inside KFC locations, which seems cool.

KFC is probably a long way from competing with Apple in terms of cellular devices, but there’s no question who makes the better chicken. However, this limited time release raises the bar on what should be expected from KFC, and other fast-casual eateries in the future.

Happy 30th KFC China, you’ve earned it.

Zima Has Officially Returned To The United States, Now Being Sold At Wal-Mart

It’s been more than a year since I tracked down the whereabouts of Zima to Japan. Since then, only rumors that the popular, lemon-lime adult beverage of the 1990s would return stateside.

Well, thanks to Zima’s distributor, Molson-Coors, the clear malt beverage has returned to the United States, and is currently being sold at Wal-Mart.

A Wal-Mart Communications representative confirmed through email that Zima is, “hitting shelves at Walmart stores now,” in a “limited edition” release.

On May 20, Zima’s Facebook page changed their cover image, confirming a national reintroduction, “on or before July 4th.” Talk about patriotism.

As the return of Zima spreads 90s nostalgia to the masses, Zima aficionados must be aware that unlike our unfading memories of Zima, this national reintroduction of the alcoholic beverage will not last forever.

“We’ll sell as much as we have, but when it sells out, its gone,” according to Wal-Mart communications.

However, if the U.S.’s Zima supply runs short this summer, there are alternatives in the form of this proxy service that will ship internationally. They hit me up on Twitter —  because they probably think I’m obsessed with Zima. I might be.

Hey, cheers ‘Murica.

McDonald’s BIG Reveal: 10,000 Limited Edition Big Mac Sauce Bottles

Last week, McDonald’s ominously hinted at something big happening on Jan. 26. We took a guess at all the possibilities that could happen, from pork Katsu cheese patties to waffle fries. Turns out, we were off just a tad.

McDonald’s has just announced that they’ll be giving away 10,000 limited edition bottles of Big Mac Sauce. For the first time in the United States, McDonald’s patrons will be able to get their hands on a bottle of Mac Sauce, the titular sauce of the company’s iconic burger: The Big Mac.

The giveaway is in celebration of the launch of the new Mac. Jr. and Grand Mac.

Around this time last year, McDonald’s locations in Australia sold a similar bottle for a limited time. Now, the US will be getting their own chance to carry around a bottle of Mac Sauce everywhere.

The rare bottle will only be available at participating McDonald’s locations, with details dropping sometime tomorrow on where you can specifically find them. We’ll be keeping you posted on the locations as soon as we find out.

UPDATE: Here’s exactly how to get your hands on a bottle of Big Mac Special Sauce.

Pumpkin Spice Hummus is Everything We Didn’t Ask For This Fall

October is just around the corner but we’ve been spoiling ourselves rotten with all the pumpkin things for the last month. No, seriously. Just when you thought we had it all with Pumpkin Spice Oreos and Pumpkin flavored booze, something else sneaks its way into the mix that makes you wonder if this pumpkin craze has gotten out of control.

Case in point, Pumpkin Spice Hummus. What the hell can we even eat this with, pumpkin spice tortilla chips? Pumpkin pita bread?

This hummus isn’t all that orange goodness scooped out from a pie, it’s still mainly tahini, garlic, and all that other savory stuff, just fancied up with the addition of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pumpkin seeds. Is this stuff sweet or savory? For the love of all things pumpkin, what the hell is this orange dip?!

Cedar’s Pumpkin Spice Hummus is available for a limited time.

Dominique Ansel Slinging Canned Sundaes in the Hamptons This Weekend

Canned Sundae

Dominque Ansel, sweet genius and creator of the infamous Cronut, Waffogato, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Shot, has designed yet another innovative dessert in the form of a sundae in a can. His latest sweet treat is a play on a classic root beer float and features root beer flavored ice cream, stracciatella and mascarpone semifreddo. Because classic just isn’t enough for the pastry chef, this sundae is topped with macerated cherries, toasted marshmallow, and Ansel’s famous miniature meringues.

These limited edition Pop It! sundaes were designed for Lisa Perry and were inspired by Andy Warhol. New Yorkers can find Ansel selling these sundaes for $15 outside Lisa Perry’s East Hampton Boutique this weekend. The price may seem high but the sundae actually serves two and Ansel is donating 20 percent of his sales to City Harvest.

Del Taco Delivers Carne Asada and Fry-Stuffed Epic California Burritos

Late last year, GQ described the California Burrito as “one of the most elegantly decadent foods you’ve never heard of.” A hefty, Chipotle-sized tank crammed with some arrangement of steak, cheese, pico, sour cream, guacamole, and, the clincher, golden crispy french fries, California Burritos are the leading cause of failed diets in the Golden State. It’s scientific fact.

They also happen to be a perfect addition to Del Taco’s Epic Burrito line. For a limited time, the new Cali Steak & Guac combines all the aforementioned ingredients within one massive 18-ounce wrap, descriptively named for anyone who hasn’t been blessed enough to try a real California burrito in person.

We decided to sample the beast ourselves for breakfast this morning, and while not nearly as artery-clogging as we might have liked, the Cali Steak & Guac should be perfectly palatable for anyone just looking to dip their feet in the waters of guacamole and french fry-loaded degeneracy. It’s also available with a free medium drink, along with the rest of the Epic line, through Wednesday June 18.
