This Single Egg Became The Most-Liked Photo On Instagram

2019 has barely begun and an unknown account as appeared to accomplish the unthinkable: become the most-liked photo on Instagram. So what kind of celebrity could be behind such a behemoth post that’s garnered over 30 million likes through the course of 10 days? Is it Selena Gomez drinking another bottle of Coke, hoping to reclaim her title?

Nope, there’s no celebrity behind this. No brand pushing a new item. The most-liked photo on Instagram ย has become a simple image of an un-cracked egg that may or may not be a stock photo from somewhere.

Instagram account @world_record_egg posted a photo on January 4 of a simple brown egg over a white background.

In a matter of days, the photo gained an inconceivable number of likes for an account that’s essentially a newcomer, eventually surpassing previous record holder Kylie Jenner’s 18 million likes post of her newborn, and then doubling it in a day.

At the time of publication, the egg photograph had more than 36 million likes on Instagram, with it expected to climb even higher in the days to come.

What’s funny is the @world_record_egg doesn’t have any previous posts before the egg photo. In fact, the entirety of the account seemed to be based around beating Jenner’s record.

This can’t be the first time an account has attempted to set the world record for likes, but something about this egg has cracked the Instagram algorithm for success.

We’ll do some digging to see if there’s a story behind this phenomenon. In the meantime, the egg photo is gaining about 1 million likes each hour since yesterday as a sort of a snowball effect of success.

Perhaps in a few days, Jimmy Kimmel will announce to the world that he’s secretly running this account. Perhaps.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner Face Backlash For Releasing Tone-Deaf Chinese Takeout Purse

Kylie and Kendall Jenner’s new Chinese Takeout purse is drawing some serious backlash.

The celebrity sisters released the new bag as part of their “Kendall + Kylie” fashion line. It went up for sale on the Saks Fifth Avenue website for just an hour before being removed, according to Nextshark.

In addition to the identical design to a Chinese takeout box, the bag bears the name “KK Express” to evoke Chinese delivery. Furthermore, its name, the “Lee Clutch,” has drawn further ire from those who got a glimpse of the purse. A fortune cookie-shaped coin purse is apparently also part of the Jenner’s misguided collection.

What’s worse is that the Jenners likely stole this idea from another celebrity. In 2014, Kate Spade released a strikingly similar bag that also drew ire. Additionally, the Jenners have been accused of this type of cultural appropriation in the past. Kendall Jenner caught flack for her insensitive Pepsi commercial earlier this year, for example.

While the Chinese takeout purse is no longer available for purchase, we have to yet to hear about an official apology from either of the Jenner sisters.

Kylie Jenner’s Going Vegan, And Her Meals Actually Look Pretty Good

The youngest sister of the Kardashian/Jenner clan has built quite a meaty reputation for herself, often snapping herself at In-N-Out or Popeyes chicken, and even cooking bbq ribs at home. It looks like those kinds of foods are going to be cut from her life, as she announced on her Snapchat Tuesday that she will be going vegan.

She didn’t say why, but maybe she’s just trying to mix up her diet, or maybe she watched Okja on Netflix and freaked out like everyone else.

She did, however, give a glimpse into what her new diet is going to look like, as the photo that said, “I’m trying this whole vegan thing,” included a plate of vegan tacos. She didn’t describe what exactly was inside the tacos, but it looked like it was definitely packed with shredded Daiya cheese.

Her second vegan meal of the day wasn’t specific on the ingredients, but she did distinguish that her nachos were raw vegan, soy free, dairy free, and grain, adding a bit of a sarcastic sounding “mmm.”

We’ll see how Kylie does on her new diet. Knowing her, she’ll find ways to cook vegan alternatives to all her favorite foods, and she seems to be off to a pretty good start.

This Is What Kylie Jenner Eats For Breakfast Every Morning

Kylie Jenner gets a lot of flack for her food posts, as people claim she’s a spoiled kid who has never been in a kitchen, but those who follow the star closely, know that she actually does enjoy cooking.

On her personal blog, Jenner revealed what her breakfast usually looks like, and it’s not some fancy omelette that’s prepared by a personal chef, or a million dollar truffle. The celebrity teen’s breakfast typically consists of a turkey sausage, egg and rice stir-fry, according to Hello! Magazine.

Those who follow Kylie on Snapchat have seen her whip up breakfast before, as in 2016, she snapped herself cooking up some bacon, a chicken apple sausage scramble, and french toast coated with Frosted Flakes.

She has even snapped herself making cinnamon roll waffles,ย as she just put the Pillsbury rolls in a waffle maker.

They’re not the most complex meals to whip up, but breakfast shouldn’t be complicated. Breakfast should just be delicious, and her concoctions sound pretty damn good.

Apparently Kylie Jenner Isn’t Allowed To Cook Soul Food

The Kardashian family gets judged for everything they do, and it comes with the territory of being celebrities who let the public have an intimate look into their personal lives.

Kylie Jenner, the youngest sister in the high-profile family, is not afraid to show her everyday happenings through Snapchat, and did so when she cooked dinner for her boyfriend, rapper Tyga.

The Snapchat videos show the bbq chicken, macaroni & cheese, ribs, and candied yams Kylie prepared.

Peep the videos below:

She was seemingly trying to do something sweet for her boo, as in any relationship, cooking is seen as a cute gesture. People on social media were not impressed, though, generally feeling that Kylie had no business cooking “soul food.”

I understand the belief that certain cultures make their own dishes best, but it doesn’t mean others can’t attempt it. I live in California, and some of the best food, from Chinese, to soul, is often made my Mexicans. Hell, last time I went to Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles in Los Angeles, a staple of soul food in the city, I saw that Mexicans were the ones in the back cooking up the chicken, so don’t tell me Kylie can’t try her hand at soul food because she’s not black.

Thankfully she got a little support out there:

At least Tyga did the decent thing, sounding appreciative of Kylie’s efforts. No hate here. Big ups for doing something thoughtful for your boyfriend.
