Pieology’s New Protein-Packed Crust Is Made From Chicken

In 2019, Pieology made Foodbeast’s list of fast food “game changers” because it began offering up six different pizza crusts that catered to all types of diets and cravings.

For 2020, Pieology decided to add a new crust to its arsenal that’s perfect for those looking to stock up on protein or practice a keto lifestyle. That new crust is predominantly made with chicken breast.

Called the Protein Style Chicken Base, Pieology’s seventh crust addition comes amidst an increased interest in eating the keto diet. A standard base, upon which you can add whatever toppings and sauces you want, contains 44 grams of protein, 280 calories, and 2 grams of carbs. The crust, which was created in partnership with Foster Farms, is also keto-certified.

Pieology’s newest offering also capitalizes on the popularity of chicken as a pizza base. In 2019, viral New York pizza sensation Krave It created a Nashville Hot chicken crust that exploded on the internet, garnering over 2 million views. Other grocery store brands, like Real Good Pizza, have also introduced chicken pizza crusts in the past and found success.

No other major pizza chain has debuted a crust made with protein like this before, making Pieology the first to innovate at scale in this space.

You can find the Protein Style Chicken Base at Pieology locations nationwide, with the exception of restaurants in Hawaii.

Three Ways To Transform Cauliflower Sandwich Thins Into Mouthwatering Pancake Stacks

With low carb diets on trend right now, folks are looking for new ways to enjoy some of their favorite carb-packed meals. When it comes to pancakes, there’s plenty of options that keep your diet intact but still let you satisfy that craving.

Each of these low-carb pancake recipes, for example, is made with Outer Aisle Gourmet Sandwich Thins. Made from Parmesan, egg, and cauliflower, they can play into both sweet and savory pancake stacks while keeping the carbs down.

These are a few different ways you can transform the sandwich thins into fun, flavorsome pancake breakfasts.

Churro Pancakes

These pancakes evoke the flavors of churros with their mix of cinnamon and sugar coating each sandwich thin. They’re layered with Nutella and dulce de leche for an added hit of sweetness and flavor.

4 Outer Aisle Gourmet Cauliflower Sandwich Thins

1 tbsp butter

1/4 cup cinnamon

1/4 cup coconut sugar

1/2 cup Dulce de Leche

1/2 cup Nutella

Whipped Cream

Step 1

On a plate, mix cinnamon and sugar.

Step 2

In a medium frying pan, melt butter over medium heat. Place Cauliflower Sandwich Thin in pan and cook until toasty, about 30 seconds. Do the same with the other side. Continue until all Sandwich Thins are toasted.

Step 3

Place each butter-toasted, Sandwich Thin in cinnamon sugar mixture, coating both sides.

Step 4

Place one pancake on a plate. Spread the top with Nutella. Place another Sandwich Thin on top. Spread the top with dulce de leche. Repeat this for as many cakes as you’d like.

Step 5

Place a dollop of whipped cream on top pancake. Serve!

PB, Bacon, & Banana

Elvis Presley’s iconic sandwich combination is the inspiration for this tower of sandwich thin pancakes. This sweet, savory, and salty combo will hit your mouth with an orchestra of different sensations. While The King always enjoyed it as a sandwich, it’s just as good in pancake form.

3 Outer Aisle Gourmet Cauliflower Sandwich Thins

1/4 cup Peanut butter

1 Banana, sliced

5 slices bacon

Step 1

In a large frying pan, cook your bacon until done. Chop bacon.

Step 2

Remove most of the grease, leaving a small amount.

Step 3

Place Cauliflower Thins in pan with bacon grease, and lightly toast on each side.

Step 4

Remove Sandwich Thins to a plate. Spread peanut butter on top of a Sandwich Thin. Place sliced banana and bacon on top. Repeat with another layer.

Step 5

Garnish top pancake with more banana and chopped bacon.

Step 6

Melt peanut butter until it gets to a drizzly texture. Drizzle over pancake stack. Serve!

Berries & Cream

The fresh, sweet, and tart flavors of the berries pair perfectly with the light whipped cream and crispy sandwich thin “pancakes” in this creation.

1 tbsp butter

3 Outer Aisle Gourmet Cauliflower Sandwich Thins

1 cup mixed berries

1/2 cup whipped cream

Maple syrup

Step 1

In a medium frying pan, melt butter over medium heat. Place Cauliflower Sandwich Thin in pan and cook until toasty, about 30 seconds. Do the same with the other side. Continue until all Sandwich Thins are toasted.

Step 2

Place one Sandwich Thin on a plate. Spread a layer of whipped cream on top of sandwich thin, and add your favorite berries. Repeat this for how many layers you want for your pancake stack.

Step 4

Place a dollop of whipped cream and more berries on the top pancake. Drizzle with syrup. Serve!

This GIANT Low Carb Pop Tart Is The Size Of An Infant

The first thing that may come to mind when you see a Pop Tart bigger than your head is “sugar rush.” This massive one, however, stays super low on the carbs but is great for those looking to bulk post-workout.

Zach Rocheleau, aka @theflexibledietinglifestyle on Instagram, created this XL Pop Tart packed with Legendary Foods nut butter. The base, filling, and frostings are all packed with protein, giving this toaster pastry some pretty insane macros.

You can fill the inside with as much Legendary Foods nut butter as you wish. In terms of the base, though, you’re looking at a solid 192 calories with just 3 grams of total sugar. There’s just under 16 total grams of carbs, but considering that 5 of those are fiber and this is for a Pop Tart that can easily feed the whole workout squad, that’s an insanely low figure.

Here’s how to make this high protein, keto-friendly XL Pop Tart that’ll make you the envy of your squad.

Macros for the whole Pop Tart Base: 575 Cals, 47g Carbs (15g of which are Fiber, Only 9g Sugar), 23g Fat, 45g Protein

Serves 3 people.

For the Pop Tart dough
30g (2 Tbsp) Vanilla Protein Powder
20g (1½ Tbsp) Coconut Flour
20g (1½ Tbsp) Ultra Fine Almond Flour
20g (1½ Tbsp) All Purpose Flour
20g (1½ Tbsp) Powdered PB
28g (2 Tbsp) Light Butter (This butter has around 5g fat per 14g)
28g (2 Tbsp) Plain Non Fat Greek Yogurt
4g (1 tsp) Stevia

For the filling
56g (4 Tbsp) Legendary Foods Peanut Butter Cup Nut Butter (Recommended, but add as much as you want!)

For the Protein Frosting:
31g (2 Tbsp) Vanilla Protein Powder
5g (1¼ tsp) Coconut Flour
1g (¼ tsp) Stevia

For the icing
16g (1 Tbsp) Legendary Foods Peanut Butter Cup Nut Butter

Step 1
Preheat oven on 350 Degrees F. Add all dry Pop Tart ingredients to a food processor and pulse to combine. Next, add butter in small chunks and blend until you have a ball of dough. Place in fridge for 10 minutes.

Step 2
Once dough has cooled, take ball of dough and place between 2 pieces of parchment paper and roll it out as far as you can. Next, take a pizza cutter and cut out out bottom piece of dough. Take the leftover dough and add to another piece of parchment paper. Take the other piece you had on top of the other one and roll it out till you have your top piece of dough.

Step 3
Next, take your peanut butter and spread in the middle of bottom piece of the Pop Tart, leaving about an inch around the edges. Take your other piece of dough and add it on top. Do this by flipping the parchment paper over and laying that piece of dough on top and then gently peeling it off the parchment to not rip it

Step 4
Gently press down the edges and then spray the top with non stick butter spray. You can add egg wash here instead if you want. Then, take a fork and crimp the edges. Place in the oven for 12-15 minutes until golden on top and a little bit darker on the edges.

Step 5
While the Pop Tart is baking, add your Protein Frosting ingredients to a bowl and slowly add cold water (20ml) at a time and mix until you have a thick icing/frosting like consistency. Add to freezer to chill and let it thicken up some more.

Step 6
Once Pop Tart is done, remove from oven and let cool on a cooling rack for 10 minutes. Once cool, add your frosting on top. Then add 32g of your Legendary Foods Peanut Butter Cup Nut Butter (will probably only use 16g of it when adding to pop tart but need enough in there just in case) to a zip lock bag. Cut a small tip on the end and drizzle on top! Then enjoy this heavenly MASSIVE Protein Pop Tart!

KNOW Foods Just Launched Grain-Free, Keto-Friendly Waffles

We all know there’s nothing better than a warm, fluffy waffle drenched in butter and maple syrup. There’s no words to describe what happens to our nether regions as that warm pad of butter sensually slides down the waffle stack carried by a pool of sweet syrup – a phenomenon true waffle-lovers know well.

This tantalizing image is one typically associated with gluttony and unhealthy indulgence on a Sunday morning. But we’re here to tell you it’s possible to engage in this type of food porn on a daily basis with all the flavor and none of the guilt.

KNOW Foods has decided to break into the breakfast game with their KNOW Better grain-free waffles. Yes, they have created yet another grain-free wonder chock full of good-for-you,  superfood ingredients – like coconuts, chia seeds, and almonds – that tastes just like the original, if not better.

The secret is a rare sugar called allulose, that has 1/10 of the calories of regular sugar. Allulose allows these waffles to have a lower glycemic index than most veggies, which is a crazy feat.

After one bite of this beauty, you might start thinking your entire life has been a lie. The first time we tried them, we felt caught up in an avalanche of disbelief – that is until the vibrant flavors caught up to us and snapped us back into reality.

Hopefully you don’t faint out of sheer shock and awe, because these waffles won’t eat themselves, ya dig?

You can pop these waffles in the toaster just like anything else you’d find in the freezer aisle, or use them to make pretty much anything that requires bread.

Here at FOODBEAST, we like using KNOW Foods waffles as buns for oozey grilled cheese sandwiches to create the ultimate cheese pull, the best ever chicken ‘n waffles, rich bread puddings to satiate our sweet tooth, or even some churched up FRENCH TOAST to kill the breakfast game even further.

KNOW Better Waffles come in classic or chocolate chip, for when you feel like bein’ a little bad. Stock up by visiting Pro tip: you can also by KNOW Foods products on Amazon!

You’d Never Guess This Pasta Is Made With Only One Ingredient

Let’s face it, we all love pasta because carbs are basically the best thing on earth. Yet, the guilt that follows after, every time you boil up a batch and crush the whole thing, is more unbearable than waiting a week for the latest GOT episode.

With that in mind, KNOW Foods decided to rethink how pasta was made, and developed a super dope recreation, that doesn’t use wheat at all.

Know Better Pasta is only made with one, gluten-free ingredient — chickpeas. So, for those of us that can’t wait to get home to smash a plate of spaghetti and meatballs, we can grub without eating rabbit food six times a week.

With a variety of shapes, including elbows and twists, KNOW Foods has the guilt-free pasta game on lock. And, what’s also tight is that since it’s made with 100 percent chickpeas, it only takes a few minutes to cook.

We basically dropped it in boiling water, turned off the heat, scrolled through Instagram for 5 minutes, and it was perfectly cooked.

KNOW Better Pasta also has your back in the protein and fiber categories, with about 20 grams of protein and 10 grams of fiber per cup. That’s pretty baller.

Since we got a bunch of KNOW Better Pasta shipped to the office, you know FOODBEAST has been busy whipping up all kinds of fire recipes, like lobster mac ‘n cheese waffles, a giant mac ‘n cheese bun cheeseburger, and some pumpkin mac ‘n cheese bites.

It’s awesome to see a how a low-carb, gluten-free pasta can be modified into some super indulgent recipes that taste good AF.

For now, this guilt and gluten-free pasta can be found on Amazon and, so head over to grab a few bags.
