This Michelin-Starred Restaurant Is Using iPads As Plates

A video posted by rosé (@asap.rozzy) on

We’ve seen restaurants that let you order through an iPad, but a Michelin-starred restaurant is taking things to the next level, by actually using iPads as plates.

Quince in San Francisco is known for its French cuisine, but it is now getting attention for its curious plating.

If you order their “A Dog In Search Of Gold” plate, you’ll be served White Truffle Croquettes on top of an iPad screen that plays a video clip of a dog in search of truffles.

There’s also a frog leg dish served on top of an iPad, but this one plays a video of a frog hopping around in a pond, which is kind of creepy. It’s almost like looking your food in the face before you eat it.

People are calling into question how sanitary it is to place food directly on a screen, but it hasn’t stopped anyone from trying these unique meals.

Yeah, it’s a little unnecessary and extra, but you can’t argue too hard against a restaurant that has earned three Michelin stars.

Customize Your Pizza in 3D With Domino’s New iPad App

dominos-ipad-app-shot4-0414

Debuting Monday is a new iPad app that will let you design your Domino’s pizza in style. 3D style, that is. The pizza chain’s new app is being promoted as a “realistic pizza builder” that gives you a better idea of what your final order will look like, aka, you can’t get blame Domino’s if your pie looks a hot mess.

Customizing a pizza on the new app is easy and looks pretty fun. Choosing a topping for your pizza triggers an animation of your chosen topping raining onto your digital pie.

Along with the new pizza customizer the new app will feature an updated tracker system that monitors orders in real time, so customers can drool over their iPads stalking their pizza from the time it’s in the oven to when the driver takes off for the delivery.

This isn’t the first pizza ordering app for Domino’s, back in 2011 the pizza chain launched Domino’s Pizza Hero on the iPad, which was a Cooking Mama-esque game that allowed customers to order their digital creations in real life.

Order Pizza Through Domino’s’ Free Pizza Hero App

Domino’s is on its game when it comes to the pizza delivery business! Its new Pizza Hero App creates an innovative way for pizza lovers to have fun making pizzas and order it too. The game is very similar to Nintendo’s “Cooking Mama” where you use the touch screen capability to do tasks such as making, baking, and slicing in a certain amount of time. I think my favorite part is rolling out the dough to the right size. Download and play for yourself!

And once you’re done playing, you’ll be able to order — what a hero*!

iPad Frozen Into Slab of Chocolate, Given To Unsuspecting Girlfriend

A bloke from London named Stefan knew that his girlfriend living in Cape Town, South Africa was an Apple product nut and had to have the iPad. Problem is, the iPad wasn’t being released where she was staying. So he thought, what a great idea it would be to get her one as a surprise, but better yet I’ll get my friends to freeze the iPad in chocolate so she’ll have no idea what it is. (Thx AR) Check out how it all goes down after the jump:
