Drumstick Unveils New Ice Cream Bar Coated In Cookie Crumbs

It’s hard to improve upon the classics, but that’s exactly what Nestle is doing this spring with the release of their Crushed It! Ice Cream Bars.

Pivoting from the usual faux-Oreo crumb crust that dominates the ice cream bar game, the new bar’s coating features cookies that have been ground into a fine powder. Because of this, the bar has a unique melt-in-your-mouth sensory element uniquely different from Cookies ‘N’ Cream bar’s usual crunchy shell.

The bars will be available in two flavors: vanilla fudge, which features vanilla ice cream with streaks of chocolate, and Cookies ‘N’ Cream. Both flavors have a component, a gooeyness from the fudge and the crunch from the Cookies ‘N’ Cream, that give the treat some depth beyond the new shell.

In an economy as expansive as that of the ice cream bar, innovations aren’t necessarily rare. A new ice cream bar pops up in the freezer aisle as commonly as new tweets come on the timeline. Seeing as most of their sole innovations are to slap the face of whatever Marvel superhero has a new movie out on a vanilla flavored bar, an ice cream bar that tries to play both flavor and senses is distinctive. So, it could have some legs to stay around for a longer than most variations of classic flavors.

Crushed It! Ice Cream Bars will be available nationwide, rolling out into supermarkets everywhere between now and April for the price of $3.99.

Action Bronson Just Turned Ice Cream Into Fine Dining

Up until this point, Action Bronson’s three collaborations with NYC’s Morgenstern’s Finest Ice Cream have all been one-off flavors that saw no wider release beyond the event they were featured at. This is far from the case in the pair’s newest drop, a behemoth pack of ice cream flavors and sandwiches deemed the F*ck, That’s Delicious Holiday Package.

The rapper/chef, hot off the release of his latest EP, Lamb On Rice, is no stranger to wild ice cream flavors. Back in 2017, he starred in a Munchies video where he proclaimed to be making the greatest ice cream ever: a vanilla ice cream mixed with toasted marshmallows and dark chocolate covered graham crackers. Now, while the flavor was certainly delicious, for “the greatest ice cream ever” it seemed a bit, well, vanilla.

This pack is anything but, however, consisting of seven treats that could only be from the mind of one Bronsolino, with ingredients like Charred Chocolate Eggplant Ice Cream to fried Brazil nuts. Check the details for each below.

,

Other items included in the pack include a F*ck, That’s Delicious and Morgenstern’s branded t-shirt and hat.

Seeing as the run will be limited to 500 packs, this ice cream will run you a larger check than most — $233 to be exact. Just think of it as the world’s first designer ice cream if you need some impulse purchase validation.

The F*ck, That’s Delicious Holiday Package is available for pre-order or in-store pickup at www.morgensternsnyc.com, and orders will be shipping out on the weekly starting next week.

There’s A FROZEN 2 ICE CREAM CAKE At Your Grocery Store Right Now

When Frozen released a couple years back, it was inescapable. Olaf, Elsa, and Anna’s faces were plastered on everything from soup cans to toilet seat covers. Even if you managed to not watch the movie, the song Let It Go became a smash hit and blared from every minivan on the block. Now, years later, it appears Disney is commencing the second half of their plot for Frozen’s department store domination, as they prepare to release a Frozen 2 ice cream cake in collaboration with Carvel.

The new cake is a spinoff of Carvel’s ice cream cake that’s long been in stores. Instead of the normal white exterior, the Frozen cake features a design that mimics a snowflake.

Underneath that sits vanilla and chocolate ice cream, along with chocolate crunchies and a whipped frosting on which the aforementioned design sits.

The cake will be available for a limited time at major retailers such as Walmart, Publix, Kroger, and select others. If you want to buy one, check out this product locator to find stores nearby that carry the Frozen treat.

Fatburger Announces New Vegan Ice Cream Milkshakes

As the first fast food chain to offer the Impossible patty, Fatburger hopped on the plant-based bandwagon early. Today nearly every major fast food chain offers some vegan options, signaling that the trend may be here to stay. Continuing their foray into healthier alternatives, Fatburger teamed with Craig’s Vegan Ice Cream to offer dairy-free milkshakes at 12 of their Southern California locations.

Started by Craig Susser in 2011, Los Angeles-based eatery Craig’s gained popularity through their dynamic menu which provided everything from steak to vegan specialties. It’s also known as a celebrity hot-spot. Noticing a growing desire for healthier alternatives, and after countless non-dairy dessert requests, Susser and head Chef Kursten Kizer created “Craig’s Vegan,” a cashew-based frozen dessert.

Fatburger’s vegan milkshakes come in two flavors, vanilla and strawberry, and are available now at their Beverly Hills, North Hollywood, West Hollywood, Sherman Oaks, Woodland Hills, Venice, Van Nuys, Wilshire, Redondo Beach, Carson, Santa Monica/Sepulveda and Lincoln/Pico locations.

Ben & Jerry’s New Flavor Combats Social Injustice

Photos courtesy of  Ben & Jerry’s

While famous for their delicious ice cream, Ben & Jerry’s has long been involved in social and environmental justice. Their latest campaign finds them partnering with Advancement Project National Office on a new campaign called “Justice ReMix’d.” Justice ReMix’d is a new flavor concoction described as cinnamon and chocolate ice cream with chunks of cinnamon bun dough and spicy fudge brownie. It was created to help spotlight structural racism in a broken criminal legal system. To spearhead the campaign, Ben & Jerry’s tapped actor Jessie Williams, of Grey’s Anatomy fame, to help announce the new ice cream flavor.  Aside from acting, Jessie Williams is a prominent voice on the social activism front and is a member of Advancement Project National Office.

Advancement Project National Office is a multi-racial civil rights organization that has been involved in community work for over a decade. Recently, criminal justice reform has become a hot topic thanks to a handful of documentaries like Ava Duvernay’s “The 13th,” sparking conversation amongst mainstream culture. While tackling social injustice is an up-hill fight, the Justice ReMix’d campaign presents a fun way to connect over a complex subject. Ben & Jerry’s Co-Founder Ben Cohen had this to say:

“Our approach to creating social change is to raise up the work non-profits are doing on the ground. We bring every resource we have to support them — our business voice, our connection with fans, our Scoop Shop community and of course, ice cream. Somehow, it’s easier to talk about difficult issues over a scoop or two.”

Judith Browne Dianis, Advancement Project National Office’s Executive Director added, “Our country needs to invest in services that build up communities rather than those that tear them down. That means ending a wealth-based pre-trial detention system that locks people up because they are poor, black or brown. It means dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline, divesting from criminalizing students and investing in the creation of high-quality education and services. It’s time to reimagine safety and justice.”

Justice ReMix’d can be found at grocery stores and Ben & Jerry Scoop Shops nationwide with a portion of the proceeds going towards Advancement Project National Office to support their Free & Safe campaignIn addition to tasty ice cream, Ben & Jerry’s will be sending its Scoop Truck around several states to start conversations, activate members of the community, and give away ice cream. Everyone enjoys ice cream, but now you can enjoy it and show your support for criminal justice reform by purchasing Justice ReMix’d at your local grocery store.

Dairy Queen’s Snickers Blizzard Is Making a Comeback

It’s back by popular demand!

Dairy Queen already wowed us once this summer by releasing two (!) Reese’s Blizzards. Even though Dairy Queen’s menu right now is made for hot days, the chain has at least one more surprise. This August, Dairy Queen is bringing back the beloved Snickers Blizzard, and we can’t wait for the ice cream goodness.

Snickers Blizzard Is BACK!

Dairy Queen announced on Twitter that the Snickers Blizzard would return because customers kept asking about it. This popular Blizzard Treat dropped off the menu back in 2016, much to the disappointment of fans everywhere. But people sent so many messages to Dairy Queen—the Snickers Blizzard is the chain’s most-requested treat—that it was time for a triumphant return.

What’s not to adore about this Blizzard, honestly? It combines smooth vanilla soft serve with rich chocolate sauce and pieces of Snickers bars. The bit of crunch from the peanuts and gooey-ness of the caramel really make this Blizzard extra special. You get a variety of textures and sweet-and-salty flavors dancing around in every spoonful. Perfect for a hot August day!

See how much the original Blizzard cost in 1985.

What Else Is New at DQ?

Besides the return of the Snickers Blizzard, Dairy Queen is mixing up other fresh flavors. It seems that a Peanut Butter Pie Blizzard will also be joining the Snickers Blizzard as the August Treat of the Month.

What exactly is a Peanut Butter Pie Blizzard? Well, it’s like a Snickers Blizzard… with an extra twist! The Peanut Butter Pie Blizzard starts with Dairy Queen’s classic vanilla soft serve. Just add some peanut butter, graham cracker and Snickers pieces to create this delicious treat.

We’ll be making two trips to Dairy Queen to try both Blizzards. Don’t have a DQ in your neighborhood? Don’t worry, you can whip up this frosty peanut butter pieto tide you over.
