Colorful Simpsons Wine Bottles Look Just Like Homer and Marge

A fancy bottle of wine might be the last thing you’d break out for a Simpsons binge-watching session. But then, you’ve probably never found a wine that looks quite like this.

Russian designers Constantin Bolimond and Dmitry Patsukevich dreamt up a pair of wine bottles meant to resemble the iconic husband and wife duo from television’s longest running animated sitcom: Homer and Marge Simpson. Inspired by the color block paintings of Piet Mondrian, the bottles are clean and minimalistic, with sections clearly demarcated to match their characters’ appearances. As a little tongue-in-cheek nod, the wines are also said to be aged since 1987, or the year the family first debuted in shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show.

As neat as the designs are, the wines are of course just a concept. Which is probably for the better. We’d rather take a can of Duff, anyway.

Europe Gives Homer Simpson His Own Donut-Themed Menu

simpsons-menu

First, Universal Orlando opened a Simpsons Theme Park featuring actual eateries (Krusty Burger, Moe’s Tavern) seen on the animated television series. Now, it seems as if Europe wants to bring the concept overseas.

Fast food chain Quick (think the European Burger King) is launching their own Homer Simpson-themed menu this summer. The lineup will include burgers, donuts and packaging branded with Homer’s lovely visage. Through August 5th, novelty glasses with Homer’s signature catchphrases come free when you purchase a meal off this particular menu.

Although the burger appears to be your same ol’ donut sandwich, it’s actually just a bun shaped to look like a donut and more closely resembles a breakfast bagel sandwich. The actual sweet donuts come in either “maxi” (large) or “mini” sizes. The large donuts are offered in strawberry, chocolate, and caramel flavors, while the mini sizes come in what appears to be plain glazed, marble and chocolate with nuts.

Sticking with their Homer’s pastry obsession, Quick is also rolling out with cheesy donuts made with cheddar dough and filled with cheddar fondue.  The chain encourages guests to share. Pouah!

Moe’s Tavern Now Open, Serving Duff Beer & More

simpsons

After announcing plans to open a Simpson Theme Park just over a week ago, Universal Orlando has officially declared Fast Food Boulevard open to the public.

At the moment, Moe’s Tavern, Krusty Burger, the Frying Dutchman, Lisa’s Teahouse of Horror, Luigi’s Pizza and Cletus’ Chicken Shack are open for business, serving up iconic dishes seen on The Simpsons. Most notably, Duff Beer.

Unfortunately, with the exception of Moe’s Tavern, the eateries are not separate establishments and instead are grouped together under one food court. Although Krusty Burger appears to be a restaurant in itself, it’s actually just a seating area open to all guests dining at any of the quick service counters. Still, the fact that they’re serving Clogburgers from Krusty Burger and Double-Battered Chicken from Cletus’ Chicken Shack has us pretty giddy.

At Moe’s Tavern, the Duff Beer is rightfully alcoholic and available as Lite or Dry , with a taste similar to Budweiser. As a special treat, Flaming Moe’s are also on the menu and while it’s sadly neither boozy nor on fire, the park does it’s best by serving it as orange soda served on dry ice for a smoky effect.

Oh, Florida, why you so far?
