The 6 Craziest Food Stories Of The Week [THE KATCHUP]

Welcome to the Foodbeast Weekly Katchup! If you’ve been busy doing your job and doing your duty as a productive member of society, then this is for you.

Another week has passed on this big, weird, beautiful blue ball we call earth, and with it, a variety of odd, wild and amazing things YOU humans have accomplished in the food world.

Take a look at the video above to see Foodbeast’s take on all these wacky shenanigans.

1. Starbucks Valentine’s Day Frappuccinos

Starbucks-Vday-Custom-Drinks

One bored Starbuck’s barista made these beautiful Frappuccinos, and we can’t thank him enough! These fun-to-look-at beverages come in Love Bean, Valentine and Java Bean flavors. Nothing says “I love you” to a loved one more than a colorful Frappuccino.

2. Cinnamon Bun Oreos

Oreo blew our minds this week with their new Cinnamon Bun Oreo flavor. Admittedly, those colors look funky coming out of an Oreo package, but we know not to judge a cookie by its cover. These bad boys are about to take our taste buds for a joyride.

3. Trader Joe’s Mini Sugar Churros

Everybody loves a good churro, but nobody goes crazy for all the preservatives and other junk found in them. So Trader Joe’s went out and worked tirelessly to bring these mouth-watering bite-sized treats to the front of the line, and nobody is mad about it.

4. Punchy Taco Bell Exec Sues Uber Driver

Once again, Taco Bell douchebag extraordinaire Ben Golden ends up in the news, only this time, HE’S the one suing THE DRIVER. Crazy, right? Here’s to hoping that the poor Uber driver involved in this story walks away with a W!

5. How To Have Anal Sex Explained By Fruits

Fruits-AS

Everybody wonders about anal sex from time to time, but is anyone ever brave enough to ask the necessary questions? Well, the brilliant minds over at Simple Pickup have found a fun, colorful and still slightly off-putting way to teach viewers the in’s and out’s (pun definitely intended) of anal sex.

6. Hexagonal Beer Pong Cups

Beer pong will never be the same again! Two former mechanical engineers decided to take their beer pong game to the next level when they came up with this crazy shit, and you can bet your ass we’re on board! Let’s see what these bad boys can do!

These Hexagonal Beer Pong Cups Will Change Beer Pong Forever

Two party animals-turned-mechanical-engineers named William Heimsoth and Aaron Attebery may have just changed the beer pong landscape with these new hexagonal additions to the game.

By giving the cups their hexagonal shape, Heimsoth and Attebery have successfully eliminated any wasted space that came from the tiny voids between the round cups. Even beyond the new and improved functionality of these cups, their aesthetic presentation alone is enough to warrant a purchase. There’s just something so satisfying about things fitting perfectly into other things.

The cups are also hydrodynamic in design, preventing them from sliding around all over the table when you inevitably play that one guy who has no arc and fires lasers directly at the cups. Heimsoth and Attebery made sure to not only design the cups to create perfect, efficient shapes and racks, but to also serve other highly valuable functions. They’re washable and reusable, making the $15 price tag a lot more understandable and reasonable.

The Hexcups boast a patent pending mold made with stronger, reinforced plastic. So when that laser-shooting dickhead starts smacking cups off the table because he lost, you won’t have to worry about random cracks in the cups.

Even if the Hexcups are bent, they can be popped back into place, assuming the damage is mostly on the surface. The image below shows the damage that occurred after clearly rolling over each cup with a car. Pretty cool, huh?

Being the undisputed beer pong champion that I am, I can say that I look forward to decimating my enemies with these cups. So what do you say, nerds? Any challengers?

This Knife Will Change The Way You Cut Cake Forever [WATCH]

Hexagon-Knife

We’ve been cutting cakes into slices for nearly as long as cakes have been around. When presented with the task of cutting a cake into squares or circles, Matthais Wandel of Woodgears took the challenge and elevated it even further.

Why not hexagons?

The woodworker developed a knife that cuts cakes into hexagonal patterns. Similar in appearance to a honeycomb.

Check out the video below and see how to make the knife. Then the amazing results when he finally uses it to cut into the cake.

Elegant Hexagonal Egg Package Might Make You Give Up Cartons

When asked to design cheap and functional packaging to store eggs safely, Portuguese design student Gil Rodrigues took it one step further. He made something as beautiful as it is practical.

His creation is a hexagonal package for storing eggs that unrolls into a straight line of six individual containers. The eggs are secured in these mini triangular boxes, each one opening up like a present to reveal the egg inside. An added plus to the clever design is that the package doesn’t use glue to hold it together. Instead, grooves in the cardboard fit together to create the unique hexagonal shape.

The design is simple and elegant, a refreshing method for grabbing some breakfast.
